She also has a scholarship fund, and she’s worked with the Global Citizen project, among other contributions. It’s a big honor, and she’s in excellent company. Chelsey Sullenberger, Malala Yousafzai...

Given the status of the AR15 as the preeminent military rifle still today, it comes as a surprise to many people to learn just how old the gun really is. Civilian production of the SP-1 model by Colt actually began in 1964, which means that early SP-1 rifles started becoming Curio & Relic qualified back in 2014. Right now in 2017, more than 10,000 C&R AR15s exist – and this is one of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jowv167KdbM

new species of an extinct giant worm was found to have terrifyingly large snapping jaws. noting that its gigantic size is comparable to the living species of the 'giant eunicid' species, better known as 'Bobbit worms', which are considered to be terrifying and opportunistic ambush predators that use powerful jaws to capture their prey. We know that being giant is related to things like competitive dominance and the modern worms that get this big are fearsome predators.

CHICAGO -- Teen suicide attempts in the U.S. declined after same-sex marriage became legal and the biggest impact was among gay, lesbian and bisexual kids, a study found. The research found declines in states that passed laws allowing gays to marry before the Supreme Court made it legal nationwide. The results don't prove there's a connection, but researchers said policymakers should be aware of the measures' potential benefits for youth mental health.

It was reported earlier this month that former first lady Michelle Obama would appear as a guest judge on the fifth season of MasterChef Junior, but her expertise on everything tasty might come to the small screen sooner than we think. During its current season, guest judges have taken the spot of chef Graham Elliot, who exited the show in its fourth season. Obama will reportedly serve as a guest judge as soon as this or next week, The Root reports. The series, like MasterChef, features Gordon Ramsey on a hunt of the perfect tiny chef. In January of 1993, two weeks before Bill Clinton’s first presidential inauguration, Hillary Clinton asked Robert McNeely to be their official White House photographer. McNeely captured the family’s public and private moments for the next six years. Harrison Ford's taxiway landing last Monday was caught on video, and it promises to be the centerpiece of the FAA investigation. The video was captured by cameras trained on the runways at John Wayne Airport in Orange County. It shows Ford's approach which came dangerously close to an American Airlines 737, which was on the taxiway when the actor's plane passed overhead. A man in the terminal who took a picture of the landing told us Ford had misjudged the runway and banked sharply before landing on the taxiway, but that is not reflected in this video.

A literary treasure buried for more than a century has been unearthed by Zachary Turpin, a grad student at the University of Houston. It's a work of short fiction: a 36,000-word novella published anonymously, in six parts, in a New York newspaper in 1852. The discursive nature of the manuscript's full title — Life and Adventures of Jack Engle: An Auto-Biography; In Which The Reader Will Find Some Familiar Characters — places it squarely in its literary era, as does its subtitle, A Story of New York at the Present Time. The find was announced on Monday as the full...
