new species of an extinct giant worm was found to have terrifyingly large snapping jaws.

noting that its gigantic size is comparable to the living species of the 'giant eunicid' species, better known as 'Bobbit worms', which are considered to be terrifying and opportunistic ambush predators that use powerful jaws to capture their prey.

We know that being giant is related to things like competitive dominance and the modern worms that get this big are fearsome predators.

Have you ever tried to go through a museum and view EVERY exhibit? I would think that it would take approximately that long to do so.

They probably found the worm when it as leaving the gift shop and found out that the money that it came in with wasn't worth anything any more ...

The worm hasn’t really made it until somebody writes a song about it:

Centipede

Knife Party

Giant tropical centipedes share their territories with tarantulas.
Despite it’s impressive length, it’s a nimble navigator,
And some can be highly venomous.
As quick as lightning, just like the tarantula it’s killing,
The centipede has two curved hollow fangs which inject paralyzing venom.
Even tarantulas aren’t immune from an ambush.

This centipede is a predator

Centipede!

Centipede!

Centipede!

Centipede!

Centipede!

Centipede!

Then it must be older than 400 million.

“Bobbit” as in “Lorena Bobbitt”?

Cold, man, that’s really cold.

Is the worm a member of the museum or did he pay full price to get in?
