Australia's most successful rock band AC/DC are thought to be retiring. Rumours surfaced on Tuesday morning that the band are set to split due to the ill health of one of their members, although it isn't clear as of yet who that member is or what the illness is. 3AW reporter Peter Ford told 2Day FM breakfast hosts Sophie Monk, Merrick Watts, Jules Lund and Mel B that 'we may never hear them perform or record again'. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 14 (UPI) -- As part of a partnership between KFC and Nanz and Kraft Florists, prom-goers who want to bring their date something special now have the chance to surprise them with a chicken corsage. According to Nanz and Kraft, the corsage will “will make your date’s eyes light up and her mouth water.” Only 100 chicken corsages are available and the store has already sold 15 of them, according to the New York Daily News. “Just like the last piece of chicken in the bucket, when they’re gone, they’re gone.”

As head of his village, Prajob Naowa-opas battled to save his community in central Thailand from the illegal dumping of toxic waste by filing petitions and leading villagers to block trucks carrying the stuff—until a gunman in broad daylight fired four shots into him. A year later, his three alleged killers, including a senior government official, are on trial for murder. The dumping has been halted and villagers are erecting a statue to their slain hero. But the prosecution of Prajob’s murder is a rare exception. A survey released Tuesday—the first comprehensive one of its kind—says that only 10 killers...

April 14, 2014 (Tanya Granic Allen) - At the UN’s 47th Commission on Population and Development, the message from some Non-Governmental Organizations with vested interests couldn’t be clearer: nothing will stop them from conducting more abortions. The tone of these meetings has, at times, been uncomfortable to anyone who holds life to be sacred, or believes maternal health initiatives is an excellent way to support women, especially those in the developing world. While at an UN affiliated meeting hosted by International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Ipas, two abortion supporting and providing global powerhouses, I was targeted, discriminated against, man-handled,...

Some of you may know a Birkenstock and tie dye wearing liberal buffoon in your family that is part of the "Buy Local" environmental movement. I have no problem with this movement itself, but there seems to be a lot of the people in it who are "neo-liberals". The ones that annoy me most are the "Buy Local, Think Global" morons. My question to them is this: I want to buy Local in all things, so how do I buy local concerning government? Instead of sending all our money via taxes to the giant "Monopoly on power Wal-Mart government" that...

Manning's conviction, 35-year sentence upheld By DAVID DISHNEAU An Army general has upheld Private Chelsea Manning's conviction and 35-year prison sentence for giving reams of classified U.S. government information to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks, the Army said Monday. The approval by Maj. Gen. Jeffery S. Buchanan, commander of the Military District of Washington, clears the way for an automatic appeal of the case to the Army Court of Criminal Appeals. Manning's appellate lawyers said Sunday that they expect their appeal to focus on issues including alleged misuse of the Espionage Act.

WHITEHOUSE , Texas, A Texas woman who was approached by a police officer who was “acting suspicious” was arrested after she failed to stop and talk to him. Melissa Bonnette was out for a walk on Friday morning when a Whitehouse Police Department officer pulled up alongside her on a motorcycle and asked her to talk. The officer, Shawn Johnson, allegedly approached Bonnette because she was walking on the wrong side of the road. "I thought that maybe he was flirting," Bonnette told KYTX. "I just thought it was odd, I thought it was odd. I wasn't really sure but...

So when does Hillary Clinton start campaigning for Democrat candidates this year? Or perhaps the better question is WILL she campaign for Democrat candidates this year? Get this. Hillary expects to be coronated as the Democrat presidential nominee in 2016 and thus far there is NO indication that she will lift a finger (or spend money) to help Democrat candidates in this year's elections. How can she ask for their support in 2016 when all indications are she will do NOTHING to help them in 2014. Of course, Hillary is probably worried about putting her "reputation" on the line if...

Democratic leader: GOP base ‘animated by racism’ By S.A. Miller WASHINGTON – A prominent House Democratic leader showed his contempt for Republican voters Sunday, accusing a large portion of them of being racists. “To a significant extent the Republican base does have elements that are animated by racism. And that’s unfortunate,” said Long Island Rep. Steve Israel said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Israel, who is chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, was only slightly less insulting to his Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill. Asked if they were racists, Israel responded: “Not all of them, of course not.”...

The University of Kentucky has stopped a campus-wide survey asking students if they think homosexuality is a “sin,” apparently deciding that knowing this information is not worth the negative publicity it is receiving. The survey, originally reported on by Campus Reform, asked students if they agree or disagree with statements such as “Male homosexuality is a perversion” and “If it were possible, I would be straight.” It was not made clear in the survey who would be reading students’ responses or if the survey was confidential, sparking concern and confusion among some. …

The Army veteran who fought alongside rebels in Syria, only to be later accused of joining Al Qaeda-linked terrorists by the U.S., has died in Arizona of unknown causes, his family told ABC News. Eric Harroun, 32, succumbed to an "accidental overdose" according to his sister, but an official cause had not yet been released. The Phoenix-born man was first spotted in late 2012 by U.S. intelligence after he appeared in Youtube videos alongside Syrian fighters. In one such video, Harroun was the lone English speaker celebrating amongst rebels who had apparently downed a regime helicopter.

During the government shutdown, the Obama Administration made it a priority to put up barricades at the World War II Memorial: preventing Veterans who had made a special trip to Washington, DC from visiting the Memorial. According to Sarah Palin, Sylvia Matthews Burwell (HHS nominee) was behind this. Then the Obama Administration took the stance that Illegal Immigrants should be allowed in the US. Any damage to property or crimes committed seemed seemed to make this administration turn the other way. Then the Bureau of Land Management decided that a rancher Clive Bunday, who has had cattle grazing on the...
