Donald Trump has won the Hawaii Republican presidential caucuses, according to the Associated Press. Trump never visited the state, but instead took his campaign to Twitter on the eve of the election. “I employ many people in Hawaii at my great hotel in Honolulu. I’ll be there very soon. Vote for me, Hawaii!” he wrote. Trump's victory is his third of the night, following wins in Mississippi and Michigan.

Donald Trump is leading in an early vote count of Hawaii's Republican presidential caucus. Senator Ted Cruz is currently in second place. The early results include results from 12 out of 45 of precincts. Polls closed at 8 p.m. across the Hawaiian Islands and votes are being tallied by the Hawaii Republican Party.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump is scheduled to make an appearance in New Orleans Friday evening, the day before the Louisiana primary (March 5). Trump is to appear at Landmark Aviation near Lakefront Airport at 6 p.m., according to the event site eventbrite.com.

Trump needs to win 1,237 delegates to secure the Republican nomination, and with four other candidates vying for the same, University of New Orleans political scientist Edward Chervenak said the state's primary is particularly important this year. “With Cruz, Rubio, Carson and Kasich still in the race, they’re basically taking delegates away from (Trump). At my local caucus location today here in Lexington KY there were hundreds of people voting. The guy who I got my ballot from said it was even busier earlier. He didn't know how many people had voted at the time but he estimated a couple thousand. I voted at 11:15AM. Only took me 5 minutes to vote because of the great organization. You can only vote between 10AM and 4PM.
