Not to be confused with Rev. Jeremiah Wright in Illinois, here is a true story about a Rev. Joe Wright in Kansas. This event actually happened in the Kansas House in Topeka on January 23, 1996. At the time, Joe Wright was the pastor of Central Christian Church in Wichita and was House guest chaplain that day. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new House session, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard: Heavenly Father, We come before You today to ask Your Forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance. We know...

The "RNC" wants "Feedback" and they say a picture is worth 1000 words. What do you think about the very short list of issues at the top right? Photoshoppers, might you have anything to add? NOTE: Screencap has been shrunk to reduce bandwidth. And speaking of bandwidth, if you haven't contributed to FR, click the FReepathon thread and act like a responsible Conservative, thanks. FROM EMAIL from Doug Lyvere, Eagles Up -- ...Code Pink is on the ropes. The Marines have been welcomed by the Chamber of Commerce. More people, civilian's and businesses, have started showing their support for Veteran's. Everyone's efforts have started to pay off. Everyone should be proud. So this time we're going to do it a little differently. Last time we designated Berkeley a "No spend zone". Some said this had zero impact. I disagree - we made a point and whether or not a negative financial impact was felt, we got a response. This time, I think we should...

WASHINGTON The Commerce Committee sent to the U.S. Senate floor a resolution to nullify changes to the longtime ban on same-market common ownership of newspapers and broadcast stations. The resolution targets last December's Federal Communications Commission vote, along party lines, that permits daily newspapers in the nation's 20 largest markets to own either one lower-rated TV station or radio station. Cross-ownership would continue to be prohibited in smaller markets. But the many critics of the rule change say it includes exemption provisions that could permit cross-ownership elsewhere. Speaking to reporters after the vote, the resolution's chief sponsor, Sen. Byron Dorgan...

I just heard from Chris Hill, Gathering of Eagles National Director. Following the 10am News Conference on Capitol Hill today, GOE visited 437 Congressional offices in support of the troops and their mission. Chris said that "probably half of the offices were happy to see us," with "one quarter apathetic and one quarter passive-aggressive." Predictably, Southern Democrats and Republicans were more typically glad to see GOE representatives. Overall, more than 200 in the House of Representatives gave a positive response to the Eagles. Vets for Freedom will be doing follow-up lobbying Capitol Hill on Tuesday, and the VFW follows...

Just got a call from a sibling, my Dad is in the emergency room with some sort of heart trouble. His brother has had 30+ years on 'borrowed time' and still going strong despite numerous heart attacks. Dad has had no such problems. Dad is unquestionably prepared for Eternity, a retired pharmacist and active parachurch organization leader. I love my Dad and ask your prayers for God's hand, timing and will. Thanks.

I just got an automated call from RINO ex-Governor Pete Wilson to tell Californians how tough John McCain would be ON OUR NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY. Oops. CORRECTION. What he *actually* said was how tough John McCain would be on illegal alien issues.... And I hung up the phone in scoffing disbelief. WE THE PEOPLE have from now until November to find and boost another GOP candidate regardless of the outcome of this senselessly-FRENETIC primary. I'm not taking any candidate's polling spin as fait accompli until the fat thighed lady sings a concession speech. Slow and steady, no need for panic. HALP...
