The Boards have been heavy lately. Hopefully this can lighten the mood around here. Need helpsettling a family dispute. What is the better sailing song? Sloop John B by the Beach Boys or Southern Cross by Crosby Stills and Nash (the politics of the bands doesn't matter folks) or do you have another song? IMHO these 2 are it and its a matter of degree which one is better.

The Whole Man: 25 Men Who Cultivated Both Mind and Body by Brett & Kate McKay on July 6, 2010 They are the two stock characters of many a movie and television show, especially those set in high school or college: the jock and the nerd. Brains and brawn. The meathead and the brainiac. AC Slater and Screech. The jock excels at sports, but has little between his ears. The nerd is a whiz in the lab but a total klutz on the field. The only time the two come together is when the jock reluctantly asks the nerd for...

Parents don’t believe their kids have sex By Associated Press Wednesday, June 16, 2010 - Added 20h ago RALEIGH, N.C.— Carole Bullard considers herself open-minded when it comes to dealing with the sexuality of her teen son and her almost teenage one. She and her husband, Roger, have age-appropriate talks with their sons, ages 17 and 12. And though she believes the older boy and his girlfriend have not had sex, she’s realistic that they might. "Do I want them having sex? No," said Bullard, 42, of Cary. "I’ve told them I’m not going to be a grandparent until I’m...

Are you using your kids to escape your marriage? E-MAIL | LINK | ADD A COMMENT (0) Posted by Lylah M. Alphonse June 14, 2010 05:22 AM It runs counter to our instincts as parents, but a new book suggests that making your kids your top priority may be doing them more harm than good. An Episcopal minister and family coach, David Code suggests that parents who focus first on maintaining a strong marriage end up having happier, better-adjusted children than those who make their kids their top priority. "The truth is, we often find it easier to be with...

Israel vs. Iran: 1st strike strategies BY PETER BROOKES In late December, Tehran crowed that its 1,000-megawatt Bushehr nuclear plant, supposedly meant to produce peaceful nuclear energy, would be “online” as early as this spring, cementing in place another important building block of its questionable nuclear program. While the builders of the Bushehr plant, the Russians, insist the plant will not be completed until the end of the year, Moscow did make the first of several deliveries of fuel rods to Iran in late December. This unwelcome news comes as Iran is continuing to spin as many as 3,000 centrifuges...
