I was wondering if there are any other FReepers who suffer from chronic non-allergic Angioedema and Urticaria (Hives). I have been through allergy tests (blood and scratch). I have had many autoimmune disease tests done. (Thyroid, Lupus, Lymphoma, etc) Everything has come back negative so far. (I just had 15 different lab tests completed) The only prescription med that would keep it at bay 90% of the time was Prednisone, but my specialist has taken me off the Prednisone due to the effects of long term usage of it. (I was on a low dose of 5mg to 10mg a...

DUJIANGYAN, China (Reuters) - China warned on Friday that a lake damaged by an earthquake in Sichuan province may be about to burst its banks as President Hu Jintao urged rescuers to race to save lives with the toll likely to rise to 50,000. Forty-six seriously injured people needed to be evacuated immediately in Beichuan, at the epicentre of Monday's 7.9 magnitude quake, where the water level of a lake was rising rapidly and may burst, Xinhua news agency said. It did not give details but Hong Kong cable television said some 1.2 million people were being evacuated in Qingchuan,...

China quake toll soars as full horror begins to emerge 14/05/2008 DUJIANGYAN (AFP) - The full horror of the devastating China earthquake began to emerge Wednesday as rescuers discovered whole towns all but wiped off the map, pushing the death toll well above 20,000. Military and police teams punched into the heart of the disaster zone, with 100 troops parachuting into a county that was previously cut off while planes and helicopters air-dropped emergency supplies. But the message that came back from this mountainous corner of southwestern Sichuan province was that town after town was flattened by the 7.9-magnitude quake...

Wednesday, September 20, 2006 Tainted spinach may harbor very virulent E. coli strain By ANDREW BRIDGES THE ASSOCIATED PRESS WASHINGTON -- Federal health officials are investigating whether a more potent strain of E. coli is behind an outbreak linked to fresh spinach that has sickened at least 131 people, half of whom have been hospitalized. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that fully 50 percent of those reported sick in the outbreak were hospitalized. That's more than the 25 percent to 30 percent seen in other E. coli outbreaks, said Dr. David Acheson of the Food and...

U.S. expands warning to cover all fresh spinach Sep 16, 2006 — By Joel Rothstein WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Consumers should avoid all fresh spinach, regardless of whether it is pre-packaged, a chief U.S. food safety official warned on Saturday, saying the number of E. coli illnesses had passed 100. "We need to get a clear message to consumers," said Dr. David Acheson, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's director of food safety and security. "Some consumers may not be aware that spinach that may be available to them may have been pre-packaged," he said referring to loose spinach sold in...

April 6, 2006 — It's an annual rite of passage for those who suffer from seasonal allergies: sinuses so blocked it's difficult to breathe, a recurring headache, a feeling of constant "pressure" on the face. But for people like Michele Lynch who suffer from chronic sinusitis, allergy season seems to last all year. "I couldn't work. You can't breathe. I couldn't sleep," she said. Lynch, 24, had suffered from sinusitis most of her life — the result of abnormal bone growth in her sinuses. Tonight I was watching the news from St. Louis. The had a story on about how an Iraqi was arrested in rural Missouri today. He was on a gravel road and had 2 stolen cars and a U-haul with him. He was acting odd and someone happened to notice him and called police. They also found on him a money wire receipt for $25,000 that he sent to Iraq. He claimed he was from Dearborn, MI and he kept changing his story of why he was in Missouri. He was also a soldier in the Iraq war. His name is...

I am considering adopting this Min Pin. He was born on 01/05/06. He was a puppymill rescue (pup was being sold at a Puppy Auction and the rescue group bought him so he would not be sold to another puppymill for breeding.) He came with papers (which I don't really care about the papers) But he looks like he is mixed. His legs seem to be shorter than normal, but that might because he is so young. What do you other MinPin owners think? The reason I ask is because they will be charging me "pure breed" price on him....
