Hmmm. The funny thing about “going liberal” among Catholics like myself: they tried it, and it doesn’t work. Meanwhile, traditional liturgies and Latin Mass among the younger Catholics is what’s really catching on among Catholics that practice regularly.
People flock to liberalism in church to feel “welcome” but from my experience, in the longer term it’s not really taken all that seriously and they eventually lose interest. Many adherents to “liberal” Christianity often move on to “spiritual but not religious” and in general become spritually lazy and stop regular attendance. Not much of a formula for a thriving church.
Liberalism isn’t the answer. Authenticity is.
