MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Twenty people in Shelby County are being monitored by the health department in the fight against coronavirus. While there are no confirmed cases of the illness in Tennessee, Mississippi or Arkansas, health officials are upping their prevention protocols to keep the virus from reaching the Mid-South. The Shelby County Health Department says those being monitored are Shelby County residents who reported recently traveling back from China. Right now, however, those individuals are not considered suspect or under investigation.............

A Middle Tennessee pastor named in a letter in support of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore told News 4 he was never asked to sign the letter and didn’t hear about it until Monday. Moore’s wife Kayla posted the letter to Facebook on Sunday. It features the names of more than 50 pastors. Dr. George Grant is the head of Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin. GATLINBURG, TN (WSMV) - One of Tennessee’s most popular tourist destinations is being evacuated due to wildfires. Downtown Gatlinburg and numerous area neighborhoods, including the southern part of Pigeon Forge, are under a mandatory evacuation. The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has declared a level three state of emergency for the affected areas. TEMA says 30 structures are currently on fire in Gatlinburg, including a 16-story hotel. The Tennessee National Guard will be deployed to Sevier County to assist with clearing and removing debris.
