camera smart phones are easily concealed & outright covert. yet i’ve never seen them provoke as much vitriol unless from cops, who as yet haven’t threatened to shoot one.

the hoplophobes need to differentiate more often between means & motive.

this wasn’t an accident in similar manner to ie ‘oops i forgot that was in the car’.

some time after i heard about this incident, i listened to a report [on bill o riley?] that in so many memory hazy words stated that this marine had completed & possessed all pertinent paperwork required by, & necessary to, cross into mexico with said firearm.

said marine prepared & did all this legal homework & paperwork pre border crossing. & therein lies the problem, which resides with matamoros leos entirely. evidently mexican authorities there in matamoros didn’t care if the gringo was in compliance with their legal procedures.

which begs the question, what was their intention, purpose etc. in arresting him ? well, if their purpose was to make an example of a law abiding American citizen so that the rest of us would know what to expect from matamoros authorities, it has served them well. there now exists no reason to trust mexican law enforcement even when their procedures are complied with.

is mexico an outlaw state ??

this is similar to the problem with congress raising the minimum wage by fiat.

if a burger king requires 8 persons for the work load of a 8am-5pm shift & can only afford that many. then raising minimum wage forces management to fire enough employees or raise prices to maintain or cover labor costs. if prices are raised, the budget of the entire customer base is affected. either fewer workers to bear the same work load, or decrease in customers who can’t or won’t pay higher prices.

redistributing wealth results in higher worker stress, customer cost & reduced productivity & quality. these faults are inherent in socialized medicine / socialist government.
