Very few homes here have basements. In our case, the old neighbor had a cellar and we were friends so we never put one in knowing we were welcomed to get in theirs if needed.

For the last few years we've been working toward the goal of buying a place like the one we have now that's better suited for self-sustainability. Well water, back up generator, shop, acreage, cellar and the wife's got a salt water swimming pool to sit by while the dark days approach.

We’re taking care of our own here. The TelePrompTer needs to stay the hell away.

My cell was working as I was telling my wife where to drive to get out of the way in Moore. It worked off and on after as towers were destroyed.

Every hour we learn of someone we know who lost their home or worse. Our house is full of family with either damage or can’t get to their home. My wife and I sold our house last month and moved to an acreage with a cellar and land. We used to live in Westmoore neighborhood where Briarwood elementary was. Old house is gone. We pray for the family that bought our old house.

My wife and I sold our house of ten years on April 15th. It’s gone. We were in the Briarwood neighborhood and have many friends and old neighbors who lost everything. We’re all safe though shaken up. This tornado went from no clouds in the sky to F-5 in barely an hour.

If he wasn’t involved, he certainly could come out and say the IRS acted stupidly.

The FBI denied any knowledge of these guys. They denied it several times to several news outlets.

After the mother went public saying the FBI was communicating with her sons, the FBI admitted they had communicated with them.

The FBI seems to have stopped several terror attacks by way of providing inert devices that the perp "pulled the trigger" on.

There have been recent cases of government operations gone awry. I'm curious to see what Beck says.

Norman is our Austin here. Would love to see this guy win. Norman is the county seat for the county I live in. Outside of Norman this county still cancelled the Obama votes within the college town.

DHS has already rolled out the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative program. Under this program:

Exactly. How many times have we read about some perp being arrested only to find out the whole operation was planned, financed and coordinated by the agency making the arrest.

Could mean whoever they define.

FACT SHEET: Working to Counter Online Radicalization to Violence in the United States

A Starting Point: This is a starting point to tackle the threat of violent extremist use of the Internet. Adopting an Internet safety approach and related tools is key, but the Interagency Working Group to Counter Online Radicalization to Violence will be charged with considering additional efforts, as appropriate.

Protecting Freedom of Speech: It is important that we continue to protect civil liberties and privacy as we implement an Internet safety approach and that we do not restrict speech. Our focus is on providing communities with information for staying safe online from individuals who are trying to encourage others to commit acts of violence. Our concern with protecting civil liberties and privacy informed the development of our policy and will guide the efforts of the Working Group.

Addressing the Threat: Violent extremists use the Internet to recruit and radicalize Americans to commit acts of violence. We have seen attacks over the last several years in which consumption of propaganda over, and communication through, the Internet played a role in the radicalization of the attacker. The Federal Government will work to make communities more resilient to these messages of hate by raising awareness and providing tools. Informed and resilient communities are our Nation’s first and best line of defense against terrorism.

Resources and Implementation: The resources necessary for implementing this policy will be determined by the Working Group. However, the goal is to integrate these efforts into ongoing Federal, state, and local Internet safety programs. For example, the OnGuard Online website hosted by the Federal Trade Commission will begin including information about violent extremist use of the Internet in their existing Internet safety materials. Implementation will be coordinated by the Working Group, which will be chaired by the White House National Security Staff. Relevant departments and agencies will participate in the Working Group and collaborate to implement this policy.

Collaborating with Industry: The Federal Government will collaborate with industry to explore how we might counter online violent extremism while protecting lawful Internet use and the civil liberties and privacy of individual users. Many companies have developed voluntary measures to promote Internet safety (such as fraud warnings, identity protection, and Internet safety tips), and we look forward to hearing their views about how we might apply similar measures to counter online radicalization to violence.

Violent extremist groups ─ like al-Qa’ida and its affiliates and adherents, violent supremacist groups, and violent “sovereign citizens” ─ are leveraging online tools and resources to propagate messages of violence and division. These groups use the Internet to disseminate propaganda, identify and groom potential recruits, and supplement their real-world recruitment efforts. Some members and supporters of these groups visit mainstream fora to see whether individuals might be recruited or encouraged to commit acts of violence, look for opportunities to draw targets into private exchanges, and exploit popular media like music videos and online video games. Although the Internet offers countless opportunities for Americans to connect, it has also provided violent extremists with access to new audiences and instruments for radicalization.

I've often wondered why black conservatives don't make the case that SS is an exercise in inequality. Since the average life expectancy for most minorities is lower than that of whites, the average payout to minorities over life is lower although contributions are equal.

I realize the progressive solution would be to require whites to pay more but that would be the open door for a constitutional challenge based on equal protection.

I haven’t seen it here. I do see people open carry around here though. (Oklahoma)

President Obama wants tighter gun control laws, but he does appreciate that armed Secret Service agents protect his daughters every day on their way to school.

“It might come in handy to have these super locks,” Obama joked at Master Lock in Wisconsin, noting that he will soon have two teenage daughters. “For now, I’m just counting on the fact that when they go to school there are men with guns with them.”

I can’t count the number of times I’ve started to post what I really feel or think lately, only to decide that it’d be better to not show my hand to anyone.

At least they dropped the charge against him of exaggerating how big the fish was that got away.

From this mornings radio address:

“One thing I will not compromise over is whether or not Congress should pay the tab for a bill they’ve already racked up,” Obama said in his weekly address. “If Congress refuses to give the United States the ability to pay its bills on time, the consequences for the entire global economy could be catastrophic. The last time Congress threatened this course of action, our entire economy suffered for it. Our families and our businesses cannot afford that dangerous game again.”

Once again, I'll point out the obvious regarding the lower court decision regarding this. The court as well as the Obama administration is essentially saying that our rights are forfeited if we as citizens engage in "for-profit" activity! I don't recall anything in the Bill of Rights stating these God-given rights only apply to those whose vocation is with a religious organization.

Would anyone dare apply the same standard to any of the other rights enumerated? Do our leaders really want to take the position that the self evident rights of man are subjective? If so, it should be noted that this is a two-way street. The same Bill of Rights grants them a right to life. Should we look at this as a subjective right of theirs?

I can’t wait to see how the GOP-e protects the second amendment.

I’m seeing “conversating” being used more these days. The folks using it in place of conversing are often in the interview rooms on the tv series The First 48.

The lower court ruled that because Hobby Lobby is a business, there can be no exemption. Esentially,there is no right to the first amendment if you engage in for-profit activity.

So now, I must leave my rights at the door when I go out to make a living? Absurd!

I am sorry for this man who lost his legitimate business because of evil people with an agenda.

Yeah, but he knows he did the right thing. His conscience will stay clean because of it. I'm sure his friends, family, community and God will reward him for his good example.

At some point, doing the right thing will include no longer accepting that we forfeit our first amendment rights simply because we engage in a for-profit vocation.

Makes being a veteran a moral hazard now. In the case of Hobby Lobby vs. Obamacare, the court ruled the first amendment didn’t apply to those who work for profit. Now making a profit or serving your country could be moral hazards. Ain’t this swell?
