Without it, a Jewish woman is unable to remarry within the faith, and she becomes known as an agunah, or "chained woman." Advocates of the bill say husbands use this power to demand favorable custody or visitation schedules - or money from their wife's family - during divorce negotiations.

    My son's school Kennedy Krieger in Baltimore, Maryland sent a letter about 9/11 and their plans to ACKNOWLEDGE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DAY. Students are asked to wear red, white and blue. At 9AM all classrooms will stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance. And finally, at noon there will be a moment of silence to commemorate those who lost their lives. I am very pleased with this...seems the NEA did not get the desired results they wanted. Thank God!!
