More than two years after her upstart Senate campaign rocked the Delaware political world, Christine O'Donnell got an unexpected contact from a U.S. Treasury Department agent warning that her private tax records may have been breached. The phone message earlier this year shocked the battled-scarred candidate, a tea party favorite who knocked off Republican mainstay Michael Castle in the primary before losing in a bid to win Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s former seat. “Ms. O'Donnell, this is Dennis Martel, special agent with the U.S. Department of Treasury in Baltimore, Md. … We received information that your personal federal tax...

If ever there was a region where incumbent Republican governors can experience the great GOP gubernatorial apocalypse, it is the upper Midwest. Three of the races involve Republican incumbents who rode the Republican wave of 2010 into office. They are Rick Snyder in Michigan, John Kasich in Ohio and Scott Walker in Wisconsin. That potential loss of three Governor’s offices may be mitigated by a Pat Quinn Democratic loss in Illinois. The problem is that Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin are less red than Illinois is certainly blue.

On Thursday, the House of Representatives voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The bill passed 229-195, with two Democrats voting for repeal and no Republicans voting against the bill. The bill has no expectations of actually moving forward in the Senate, and of course the President would veto any such legislation that came to his desk. Democrats to claim the House is simply wasting time. However, Tea Party Patriots Legislative Advisor Bill Pascoe has a different view. Speaking to Local Coordinators last week, he pointed out that while the House is voting for the 37th time to repeal the...

An explosive, feature-length documentary hitting an expanded roster of theaters nationwide on May 17 offers a captivating look at the larger-than-life personality of the late Andrew Breitbart – a controversial new media pioneer whom the left vilified and the right hailed as an American hero. Coming more than a year after the sudden and mysterious death of the crusading 43-year-old journalist, the film Hating Breitbart was initially screened in a few theaters in October shortly before the presidential election, but is expanding to 10 markets nationwide on Wednesday, along with the film’s simultaneous release on DVD and video-on-demand.

It’s really simple, folks. Everything boils down to Obamacare. Do we really believe that Obamacare will make private health insurance unaffordable? Do we really believe Obamacare will bankrupt the nation and relegate the next generation of Americans to a dimmer future of less freedom and opportunity? Do we really believe Obamacare will create incorrigible dependency? Do we really believe that Obamacare will lead to a deterioration of healthcare services and rationed care? Are we really serious about balancing the budget and reforming entitlements? If the answer to the aforementioned questions is a resounding yes, which is presumably the case for...

Today marks the 225th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution on Monday Sept. 17, 1787. All of the thirteen states were represented at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, except for Rhode Island. Along with the signing, the Convention agreed unanimously to this resolution:Resoved, that the preceeding Constitution be laid before the United States in Congress assembled, and it is the Opinion of this Convention, that it should afterwards be submitted to a Convention of Delegates, chosen in each State by the People thereof, under the Recommendation of its Legislature, for their Assent and Ratifiction; and that each...

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- – Two conservative groups called on the Obama campaign to sever ties with a "radical" on its newly-released list of more than 600 rabbis who support the president's reelection. The campaign rejected the demand. The Republican Jewish Coalition on Thursday “expressed profound outrage” that Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb, a Renewal rabbi from California that the RJC described as a "radical rabbi", is part of Rabbis for Obama, which was launched Tuesday. Gottlieb sits on the advisory board of Jewish Voice for Peace, a group that is active in the campaign to use boycott, divestment and sanctions to pressure...

The Romney campaign today has requested an investigation into potential election fraud in Virginia, a Key battle-ground state. The request was necessary because of the shenanigans of the DC-based Voter Participation Center which has mailed voter-registration forms to deceased relatives, children, and even pets. According to the Associated Press, the Voter Participation Center has touted the distribution of some five million registration forms in recent weeks, targeting Democratic-leaning voting blocs such as unmarried women, blacks, Latinos and young adults. The mailings appear official, arriving in privacy envelopes with the headline “VOTER REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS ENCLOSED.” Some information is already completed on...

Oops! Here’s a little something that must have slipped out while David Axelrod and the rest of the President Barack Hussein “kill list” Obama reelection campaign committee weren’t looking. The Obama reelection campaign blamed Mitt Romney for the failure of GST Steel company in 2001. A May, 2012, TV ad focuses on the Bain acquisition of GST Steel, and it shows workers at a shuttered plant blaming Romney and Bain Capital for the closure and job losses. But there are two facts about this situation that the Obama campaign would rather that you not know. First, GST Steel failed in...

A thousand-plus packed the auditorium, last night, July 16, at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, Pa. for a rally sponsored by Jewish Americans for Obama. While the crowd may have been almost all Jewish not all of them were for Obama and things at times got contentious with shouting matches breaking out in the audience. The headline speaker was Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who represents Florida's 20th District in Congress. Unexpected heckling to her claims that the President was a strong supporter of Israel visibly upset and flustered her.

Heard this fantastic song parody satirizing government abuse of power for the first time on Dennis Miller's radio show the other day, even though (as I discovered) it's not new, but rather about three years old. Written and performed by Tim Hawkins, apparently a conservative stand-up comic. He does a great job. Could and should be very popular at Tea Party events.

Gov. Mitt Romney, who turns 65 today, does not plan to enroll in Medicare, a program he has promised to transform if he wins the White House. The former Massachusetts governor's campaign confirmed to POLITICO Monday that Romney plans to remain on a private health insurance plan and not enroll in Medicare, which provides health coverage to millions of Americans... The decision puts Romney in a tiny minority. A vast majority of seniors chooose to participate in Medicare. Nearly all seniors are automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A, which covers hospital care. But they can choose not to use it....

In a blistering election year attack on his political foes, President Barack Obama charged Thursday that Republicans are "licking their chops" over painfully high gas prices that threaten the fragile economic recovery. "Only in politics do people root for bad news and they greet bad news so enthusiastically," he said in a combative speech at the University of Miami. "You pay more, and they're licking their chops." The defiant rhetoric came after days in which the White House has worked to get off the defensive over high gasoline prices, insisting that Obama has done everything he can to bring those...

Columbia, South Carolina (REUTERS) - The state that fired the first shot in the Civil War is once again battling the government in a racially charged conflict that is drawing heated rhetoric from Republican presidential candidates. South Carolina is in a standoff with Democratic President Barack Obama's administration over a new state law that would require residents to produce a photo ID before they could vote. Federal officials say it could disproportionately keep black voters away from the polls. Republican candidates are waving the banner of states' rights as they tout their small-government credentials.

New York, NY, October 25, 2011...The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said some groups had distorted its call with the American Jewish Committee (AJC) for a national bipartisan consensus on Israel as an attempt to stifle cricism of the Obama Administration. The League today made clear that was not intended to discourage raising questions about a candidate's support for Israel, as some groups, including the Republican Jewish Coalition and the Emergency Coalition for Israel, have charged. Rather, the purpose of the pledge is "to put Israel ahead of politics" while "avoiding harsh and personal rhetoric or tactics in the form of attacks...

I realize we're all supposed to be in the tank for Mitt Romney, but when the heck did we suddenly love Social Security? We've got Karl Rove out there denying it is a Ponzi scheme solely because he hates Rick Perry. It's all politics, not principle. Mitt Romney says that millions of Americans being dependent on government for their retirement is the definition of a successful program. And we've got a solid segment of the conservative movement falling in line behind them. It's all so confusing. Are we all so damn scared of Rick Perry that suddenly we're going to...

This political survey was intended to provide a snapshot of Jewish voters. It offers some interesting insights into the depth and intensity of Jewish political engagement, but by the nature of this study it does not permit one to make any defining conclusions. Further, the findings confirm that from this particular cohort (some 2300 participants), Jews hold deeply embedded policy positions on key domestic and international issues. In this particular study one finds a distinctive Jewish conservative voice emerging on Israel related matters and an array of domestic social issues. [Bold added for emphasis by poster.] The data also suggests...

Yeah, yeah, we know: the election's not even this year. Eighteen months or something. But look, it's never too early for our first Larry Sabato electoral map!

There is a quote out there that sometimes get[s] attributed to [former] Republican Senate Leader Everitt Dirksen and sometimes not. The quote is that there [are] two parties in Washington - the stupid party and the evil party. Every once in a while the stupid party and the evil party get together and do something that is both stupid and evil. In Washington, that is called bipartisanship. Our United States Senate, led by Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and Democratic Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, are on the verge of leading the Congress into doing something both stupid and...
