Obamacare in Three Words: Repeal, Repeal, Repeal
TeaPartyPatriots.org ^ | May 18, 2013 | Dustin Siggins

On Thursday, the House of Representatives voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The bill passed 229-195, with two Democrats voting for repeal and no Republicans voting against the bill.

The bill has no expectations of actually moving forward in the Senate, and of course the President would veto any such legislation that came to his desk. Democrats to claim the House is simply wasting time.

However, Tea Party Patriots Legislative Advisor Bill Pascoe has a different view. Speaking to Local Coordinators last week, he pointed out that while the House is voting for the 37th time to repeal the law, the 113th Congress has only done it once – on Thursday. Which means, for the first time, Members of Congress who won in 2012 on the strength of their fiscally conservative, opposing Obamacare credentials can now go back to their constituents and proclaim they held to a critical campaign promise.

And thus does the House’s back door repeal of Obamacare continue. While full repeal is the best way to get the law off the backs of the American people, the House’s strategic chess-match approach has been extremely effective. Consider:

1.The House held strong on withholding a few billion dollars in IT infrastructure and other dollars from implementation efforts.

2.With $2.6 trillion to use for implementation, I and many others initially thought this was mostly a giant “kick the can down the road” by House leadership.

3.Yet in April, we saw Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) hammer HHS Secretary Sebelius, calling Obamacare a “train wreck” because of its lack of implementation success.

4.Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) has begun grasping at straws to explain the law’s unpopularity, delays, and other issues with implementation.

5.And in the last few days, Sebelius has been going around, hat in hand, asking private companies to help with implementation of Obamacare – again, because of the funding the House has not allowed to go forward.

And now, the House has Democrats on the record opposing repeal. If this can get a vote in the Senate – which is highly unlikely – the still-unpopular Obamacare will continue to be a potent weapon for campaigns against candidates of big government. However, even without a vote, the House’s vote gives Tea Party-minded candidates a tactical boost going into 2014.

No mention in this article about the IRS scandal giving a boost to Obamacare repeal efforts.

Suggestion to Tea Party: Another demonstration event on Capitol Hill with emphasis on Obamacare repeal bill now in Senate and with appearances by pro-repeal senators. This will at least let Harry Reid and friends know that they will suffer the political consequences if, as expected, they don't even allow the repeal bill to the Senate floor. And it will let the electorate know who to blame for the impending Obamacare train wreck.

It cannot be done. The last chance to crimp it passed with the continuing resolution. Thereafter ăll the talk about repeal is nonserious. Democrats are certainly not going to vote for repeal and neither will most Republicans. Hundreds of thousands of new Medical/Insurance and IRS bureaucrats would lose their jobs. Neither Republicans nor Democrats will vote for that.Republicans in office see themselves as personally benefiting from Death Panel Medicine as it provides a tremendous new well of corruption for them to work and a tremendous variety and mass of negligence and refusal for the congressmen to forever tweak and adjust and circumvent for voting blocs and individuals.

Au contraire.

“Obamacare” not only must be repealed, it WILL be repealed. Your thinking on this matter is extremely jaundiced and cynical.

Of course, you can be excused much of that; we heave plenty of reason to be cynical. But we have no reason to be defeatist, and we cannot afford to be.

Imagine: One IRS-Organ REPO Office comes with a Holder
warrant for his LEFT kidney, and the other for his
RIGHT kidney.

His only out would be if he converted to Islam
which, of course (/s), is exempt from ObamaCARE,
DeathPANELS, and ObamaCARE REPO.

Yes, it has been mentioned that Big Brother could prioritize organ transplants according to the political beliefs of the donors and recipients under Obamacare. I heard a caller to Rush Limbaugh bring the issue up.

Boner could attach to the next spending bill ( but he won’t ) and say “shutdown” or sign.

Even if significant safeguards were in place to prevent political prioritization of medical procedures (and its hard to imagine them being significant in reality, so this is a leap in and of itself), there is still one GLARING fact. Over time, as the sun rises in the east, there WILL at least be lapses of these safeguards, and there WILL be POLITICAL prioritization of medical procedures.

...there WILL be POLITICAL prioritization of medical procedures.

You're correct. How collectively dumb can the country be to accept this system which resembles medicine in the old Soviet Union!!!

We're from the IRS and we've just received your son's treatment plan.

Apparently, Elian Gonzalez's treatment program came from Fidel Castro's regime because that's where the Clintonistas sent him: back to Cuba.

That was another chapter in US government tyranny.

BTW, speaking of the Elian Gonzalez affair, one of the key government officials involved in it was none other than Eric Holder, who was then Deputy Attorney General under Clinton.
