Opponents of the Iranian nuclear deal blasted the Obama administration on Thursday for misleading the American public, the Jewish Insider reported. The condemnations came after reports emerged that Iran was secretly allowed to evade certain restrictions in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) so that it could begin receiving sanctions relief. According to the report, released by the DC-based Institute for Science and International Security and revealed by Reuters, a P5+1 joint commission formed to oversee implementation of the accord gave Iran some exemptions so that its nuclear facilities would be in compliance with the deal by January 16,...

A federal appeals court in New York on Wednesday threw out a multimillion-dollar judgment awarded to a group of U.S. terrorism victims, The Wall Street Journal reported. The court determined that the United States lacked jurisdiction over a lawsuit brought by the victims against the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The ruling is a significant setback for the 10 American families who sued over terrorist attacks in Israel during the Second Intifada in the early 2000s that left 33 dead and more than 400 injured. After a trial in Manhattan federal court last year, jurors found the...

..... Azariya, who is currently being tried for the death of a wounded terrorist, fired one round at the assailant after he had been neutralized, claiming that he feared the terrorist was attempting to activate an explosive device. It has hitherto been assumed that it was the bullet fired by Azariya that killed the wounded terrorist and heis accused of manslaughter. A new report, however, revealed by Channel 1 Wednesday evening suggests otherwise. According to the report produced by Professor Yehuda Hiss, a veteran pathologist who formerly headed the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute, the terrorist in question was not killed...

In the first instance, a haredi family walking down the street was accosted by a man of African descent, who cursed them and demanded they leave the area. “F---ing Jews, go back to Isra-Hell. Don’t come around here. Go to Stamford Hill [a neighborhood with a large Jewish population], you’re not welcome.” Later that day, a 31-year old Jewish man was harangued by a group of men in...

JTA - Forty American "Open" Orthodox clergy co-signed a letter condemning Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for what they called his “hateful rhetoric and intolerant policy proposals.” The letter, whose signatories included Irving “Yitz” Greenberg, the founding president of Clal-The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership in New York City — was published Friday on the website Cleveland.com. Noting that “religion should be invoked with care” when addressing politics, the rabbis added that, “Nevertheless, there are times when the political discourse veers into morally offensive language and policy proposals that violate fundamental religious norms.” The rabbis’ “core religious values...

Malaysia has decided it would rather not host the 67th FIFA Congress next year, as it means hosting an Israeli delegation as part of it. Malaysia was scheduled to host the Congress in its capital city of Kuala Lumpur on May 11-12, 2017. It refused to issue visas to Israeli delegates, and therefore had to relinquish the hosting rights. Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi said his country could not provide visas to Israeli officials because of the lack of diplomatic ties with Israel and because "local sensitivities" might be riled up. "Some of the conditions of hosting the event...

The Swiss Supreme Court in Lausanne has ordered the Israel-controlled Trans-Asiatic Oil Company to pay a debt of $1.2 billion to Iran's national Oil Company. According to Global Arbitration Review, which published the Swiss court’s ruling, Iran’s oil company has been removed from the sanctions regime, so there is no legal obstacle to paying it any money. On June 27, the court directed Trans-Asiatic to pay the Iranians 250,000 Swiss francs (about 1 million shekels, or $260,000) of the monies that have been deposited with the court, and another 200,000 francs in court costs. Trans-Asiatic appealed, and lost, saddling the...

A veteran leader of the Peace Now movement is apparently calling on Israel to overthrow the Palestinian Authority. It may seem hard to believe, but that's the plain meaning of an op-ed in the July 29 edition of the New York Jewish Week by Martin I. Bresler, a former Chairman--and current board member--of Americans for Peace Now. ..... Peace Now has long functioned almost as a defense attorney for the Palestinian Authority- Peace Now has long functioned almost as a defense attorney for the Palestinian Authority--vigorously demanding Israeli concessions to the PA, while refraining from criticizing the PA's sponsorship of...

Israel's Defense Ministry on Friday responded to U.S. President Barack Obama's claims from a day earlier that the nuclear deal signed between Iran and the West had been successful in improving the security situation in the Middle East, and that even Israel acknowledges this fact. "The Israeli defense establishment believes that agreements have value only if they are based on the existing realities, and have no value if the facts on the ground are completely opposite of those upon which the agreement rests," the statement read. "The Munich Agreement did not prevent the Second World War and the Holocaust, precisely...

U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday said the nuclear deal signed between Iran and the West had been successful, and said that even Israel acknowledges this fact. The comments by Obama were made during a press briefing at the Pentagon, which largely focused on the report that Washington paid $400 million to Iran. Obama denied at the briefing that the money was ransom for the return of Americans who were held in Tehran. But he also addressed the nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic, saying, according to RealClearPolitics, “It has been well over a year since the agreement with Iran...
