Power in Moore is coming up in the S.E. commercial area where the command center is set up.

Post office destroyed, Moore medical center looks like Murrah Building with cars stacked in parking lot. People walking around as you cannot travel in the affected area. Media row is in front of Dicks Sporting goods. That area with the Home Depot, Target, has power but is not accessible to the public due to the area being used as a staging area. Walmart although on Generator power is not accessible either but should be soon.

So people have to rely on the Red Cross for basics.

I don’t know about “cop hating”. However I am a proponent of small government. Cops are the strong arm, the tip of the spear of big government. Cops as a species are known to exploit privlidge for personal gain.

Corrupt politicians without corrupt cops and courts are like a tiger with no claws or teeth: scary looking, impressive, but relatively harmless.

So that is why small government proponents derid and belittle law enforcement: its policy, not hatred, not personal. I have noticed that folks on FR who are big cop supporters tend to be Law and Order types with a confused view of civil liberties. By that I mean confusing support for the fourth amendment as being “soft on crime” yet forgetting the dangerous nature of big government.

When I was a little kid, I didn’t have a gun safe. But I did have a .22 lever action in the closet, with ammo! Never shot anybody or anything. Imagine that. I was properly trained by DAD on how to shoot. No gubment safety program. No NRA program just D.A.D. I guess we all should have been in prison. But it’s not too late. Dad is still around. We could all be rounded up and punished. This is America after all. We love to put people in jail.

The Civil War cost an estimated 2% of the population of the then United States. Today if a civil war consumed 2% that would be in the order of 6.8 million Americans. Add to that figure economic devestation and the destruction of infastructure is it realistic to think that is a price anybody is willing to pay?

This is one of my favorite subjects. I have argued, taught, preached Enumerated Powers as a founding principle untill I am blue in the face. That and Natural Law as the bedrock foundation and ultimate evolution of Western thought. I have argued these points with highly successful educated intelligent people. The brutal realization is that modern Americans just don’t like this idea. Hence case precedence is worshiped as a means to get the Gubment to do more stuff. Even my hero Thomas Jefferson who originally opposed the Necessary and Proper clause was the first to really abuse that clause. So this issue always comes down to this: The Constitution is a Social Contract. This Contract has been violated repeatedly and is now void. The secession issue was settled in 1860. So what’s next?

The Constitution only works when people want it to work. I am discouraged. Everybody (mankind) demands Tyranny, Liberty is dead as a prevailing concept. I have no idea where this human experiment is going. Nowhere good I suppose. But tell me this. When has Liberty ever prevailed amongst humans?

How about they divert the Texas DOT from siphoning private funds off I-35 and use them to protect officials?
