  • Labour Minister will force end to postal strike (Canada Post)

    06/16/2011 12:43:03 AM PDT · 14 of 14
Chief Engineer to liberty or death

Customs in the U.S. is just as bad! My son who lives in Canada, one hour from the border to MT sent me a pair or child’s titanium glass frames for myself by priority post. They crossed the border in one day and then we could no longer track them. We checked in daily at the Main Post Office in Idaho Falls inquiring about them. Finally after a month they arrived, after sitting on a custom official’s desk in Seattle for all that time. Why would a pair of eyeglass frames sit on a U.S. custom official’s desk for so long, don’t they have the equipment to quickly scan such small packages and send them on their way? Hold ups can happen in either direction, but I detest the actions of CUPW which have held the citizens of Canada hostage usually around Christmas time almost every second year and nothing has ever been done about it! They are handsomely paid, they have taxi service paid to the start of their routes and then back to the post office and paid vacations and yet Canadians have laid back and accepted the semi-annual strike as something that is a regular event before the price of postage increases. Of course, since most of the strikes have happened under Liberal majority governments what else can I say? The Liberals would NEVER step in to mandate the workers back to work,(and the NDP are more Liberal than the Liberals re- Jack Layton the ever loving politician who when he was in Toronto City Council thought nothing of living in subsidized housing as a nice perk of his job when he could well afford to pay more for an apartment and let a poor person live in the apartment he was occupying) Thank God for small favors and a Majority Conservative Government! Finally a mandate to make the damned well paid workers get back to work and stop making Canadians hostage! Hurray! Posted by the Mrs Chief

FYI having just come back from that part of British Columbia, I can tell you that I lived not far from Skookumchuk and on a bad day you could smell Skookumchuk and it wasn’t pretty! The main industry in the town was the source of the population, not the town’s population! Skookumchuk is a pulp and paper mill owned by a Japanese consortium Tembec Industries, but during the time Attorney Pidgeon is referring to it was owned by Crestbrook Forest Industries. IT WAS NEVER INVOLVED IN MINING AS HE STATES IN HIS VIDEO! The mining was from Kimberly where I lived for 14 years and where my family lived from 1929 eventhough both my grandparents were U.S. citizens. During the time Attorney Pidgeon is talking about in 1982, both Skookumchuk and it’s “cousin” the lumber plant down the road would shut down for 3 months and hire students from the College in Cranbrook to work shift work watching over things and making enough money to pay their tuition for the next year. At that time there were very very few foreign students at the College. Now the foreign students outnumber the Canadians at the College and they are all wealthy Japanese or from wealthy elite African families. Their tuition costs are three to four times that of Canadians and they willingly pay it.
This year both Canal Flats and Skookumchuk will only close for 1 1/2 weeks and then will be open 24/7 because Japan needs lumber and I imagine that some of the logs at Skookumchuk will be made into lumber to be shipped to Japan for rebuilding. When I left Cranbrook May 14th the ads in all the papers were screaming for workers for both plants, they needed to have their grade 12 and experience, but experience wasn’t necessary. I doubt any of the foreign students would take the jobs but the Canadians will since the unemployment rate in that area of B.C. is presently 10.9%. That’s your information of Skookumchuk from someone who knows and has smelt it more times that she cares to admit! Mrs Chief Engineer.

Update at 6:41 pm: My step son just phoned from the parking garage at the Huntsman, his dad, The Chief was just moved to Recovery from surgery and it is doubted that he will even remember anything about today. It is doubtful he will be cognizant until a few days from now. The step son wants to see his father after he is moved to his room and to be able to bring him his belongings (including his computer so he may read the prayer thread the url which I sent him earlier to his email) After that his step son will see him settled and then figure out what he will do as it is too expensive for him to stay in Salt Lake. Money is in short supply for both families since the step son was tboned in an accident and has lost some of the use of both arms and can no longer work as an ironworker at INL because of the accident. We are trying to help but with not much ourselves it hasn’t been easy. I just keep praying for a solution because the step son cannot drive to Salt Lake daily, the price of gas alone would bankrupt him. Continued prayer is indeed a blessing from the greatest people on this earth and The Chief and I, Mrs Chief Thank all of you, most especially Starwise for posting for me! Thank-you one and all and God Bless!

    Chief Engineer to STARWISE

Thank-you so much for posting this for me to send to The Chief once he is fully conscious from surgery and feeling well enough he will read through each and every post and silently thank each and every one of you blessed Freepers. This is Mrs Chief who as Starwise mentioned has many ongoing health issues after following rules and telling the truth, only to be told to go back to Canada where I faced abuse and persecution daily for three years from my own mother and middle sister. I also lost half an arm and didn’t receive proper treatment for the type of cancer I had, I got chemo only when radiation is the only thing which would have killed the HR 2 positive cancer that is spreading throught my body. I pray daily for some type of miracle and just discovered that my father’s parents were both American meaning he too was American and didn’t know it. I would love to know what nationality I am since I was born on a NATO base in Germany and the doctor who signed my birth certificate was U.S. military. Nationality comes from the father not the mother. I apologise for hijacking the thread it has been a very long night with two hours of sleep and a lot of prayer and pain. Once again Starwise I do thank-you for posting and hope you accept my apology for the hijack it was not meant purposely just curiosity. I love The Chief dearly and want him home safe, sound and healthy, able to eat and talk. Our feelings are mutual. Thank-you Freepers one and all, you are the best people in the World from Mrs Chief Engineer!

    Chief Engineer to Richard Kimball

I have been contacted by two different mystery shopping companies and will be sent out on jobs for which I will not be paying anything, just to watch demonstrations of new products and submit a report for the time that it takes. My pay will be $15 and the fee will be a direct deposit into my bank account. One outfit that tries to pass itself off as legit is Shadow Shopper with a come on to sign up but it only gives hints to those interested in getting a job, in reality you MUST pay $49.95 Cdn in order to even access the jobs and that fee only allows you to access the jobs for 3 months. The company actually wants you to pay for an entire year with oh so many golden promises, but you must pay by credit card. Someone who is looking for a job is unlikely to want to risk putting a large amount onto their credit card for a company which uses dubious practises to entice the desparate who are looking for work in this shaky economy and job market. I’ll stick with the jobs I am sent on where I don’t have to pay any money thank-you very much, let some other sucker lose their money paying for items they may not ever see the money for!

Maybe I should be grateful the hip replacement I had done here in Canada involved a 7 1/2 inch incision because of my severe osteoporosis. They had to make a big incision to clear out all of the shattered bone after me just bumping a plastic door jamb! I wonder what they will do with the shoulder which I was originally told would be a shoulder joint replacement but now is a total shoulder replacement! I’ve only been waiting since October for that and I doubt I will be fortunate enough to receive the surgery for at least two years. They will also have to send me out of province for which I consider myself lucky since the hospital I have been dealing with is the most corrupt hospital I have ever had the misfortune of being a patient at! Obamacare HAS to be reversed or many in the U.S. will end up going through the horrors I have faced since June of 2009. Starwise I will be sending you a private post or Freepmail tomorrow to fill you in and update you on various matters, don’t mean to hijack your thread.
I do agree with the one poster who suggested tramadol as a pain relief for bedtime.

The entire family in Kenya live in a compound surrounded by high fences and are guarded by Kenyan police 24/7 so what could happen to her? She was ordered deported and disobeyed the law. Jr himself speaking about her case said the laws should be followed and then a judge granted her asylum. She doesn’t need asylum with the measures Kenya has taken for the protection of Jr’s extended family! Her claim that her life would be in danger is completely bogus!

Rush has every reason to fear for his life, I continue to read the COLB threads but rarely post except to correct an obvious error. Too much has happened including having a death threat posted(over a stipulated theory) and then removed by one of the mods, among other matters. Someone was in our home last month going through my husband’s computer and before they left they took some papers and other items and screwed around with the computer and modem wiring leaving us with no internet connection for two weeks. We finally had to get outside assistance to come in to restore our internet connection. The sherriff has been informed and will be watching our home while we are away.

Never had any weird dreams and have been on it for almost a year now, will have four more years to go after September but hope to spend those years in ID. Believe me it’s a long story on both sides of the border and I was in tears as I waved to my hubby who was diagnosed with cancer exactly one year to the day after I was. He is receiving treatment in ID, while the state refused me treatment, they would NOT accept the receipt for a green card and processing for said green card would take 3 years at the NE processing center. I had no choice but to return to Canada. It’s been a long, difficult year for both of us, especially with so much interference from my mother. I would have stayed in ID if not for the needed new shoulder which was caused by a fall here in Canada in October on a city sidewalk which more resembled a gravel road.

Sure is. Jr’s aunt who was ordered deported many times is allowed to stay, live in public housing and work when she can while receiving taxpayer benefits and this guy gets deportated. Seriously messed up.

I recently went to the local hospital to pick up my prescription of tamoxifen prior to going to ID for a month and since I have severe osteoporosis I figured I should get an x-ray of my left wrist to ensure I had not broken it since I knew I would not be able to afford the cost of the x-rays in ID. I sat and waited at the ER for over 4 hours and there were only 2 other patients in the time I was there. When I was finally called in I was given a lecture of how I should go to my family doctor and not waste the time of the ER staff since the family doctor is paid $22.50 per visit while the ER doctor is paid $350 per hour. They grilled me for over an hour and I was shocked thinking I had awoken in a communist country and was public enemy number one. I’m not too popular at that hospital to begin with because I launched an investigation into over $2208 U.S. worth of insulin which they never returned to me in June of 09. In Feb of this year a nurse in the ER contacted me to advise me there was insulin in a bag in the fridge in the E.R. but it was a type which I was no longer using. When I asked about the other insulin she went back and looked and came back to tell me it was NOT in the bag. It is downright scary when doctors make a decision to break the law and then treat the patient like a criminal to cover up their own actions! B.C. plans to operate tourism based medical care and God help anyone who takes them up on such a plan after all the experiences I have had with Inferior Health here in B.C. I am currently waiting for a new shoulder and have been doing so since October of last year. I don’t know when or where that surgery will take place I only know that every day I go without the surgery I lose more hope of regaining full function of my dominant arm. Healthcare in B.C. is a joke just like it’s government is, afterall the Health Minister previously was Minister of the Forestry and it is his bright idea to begin offering medical tourism. 4 days in hospital would cost an American $30,000 and an ambulance trip of less than a mile would cost $580 because that is what they billed me eventhough I am a Canadian citizen! Many of the doctors at this Regional Hospital are quite inferior as well and are disgruntled with their paycut from $250,00/yr down to $165,00/yr because their on call time has been cut from being at the hospital within 20 minutes to a two hour maximum. Our medical system is broken and so will that of the U.S. if something drastic doesn’t happen to change it!

That’s the picture but looking at it again she has had the baby, Jr is holding the baby, but it sure looks like she hasn’t lost a lot of the baby weight because she sure is extra heavy around the middle! Maya Soetoro is holding the older daughter while Grandma Dunham is sitting down, I notice that Grandma has scoliosis like I have, interesting.

There is one photo of MO when she was pregnant with their younger daughter and IIRC it was when they were spending a Christmas in HI. Fred do you remember the picture when just the older Obama daughter is shown(being held by Maya Soetoro Ng) and MO is wearing a loose fitting dress, I believe the photo appeared in one of the two Hawaiian newspapers and I pointed it out to you when it appeared knowing that you were saving Jr’s pictures? She was wearing a beige loose fitting dress and from the age of the older daughter I would say she was pregnant with the younger daughter at the time.

What change? I haven’t got any left once my rent and bills are paid. I try and survive on $74 per month for groceries and other necessites and that is extremely difficult. What was worse was asking the management company of this less than 400 sq ft room to fix my fridge starting last July. They ignored me and kept ignoring me so two weeks ago my fridge became all freezer ruining all the food in the fridge and freezing my insulin. I was NOT impressed!

I just now ended a phone call with my step-son, it is 1:43 am and I dread to see what my own blood sugar reading will be in the proper morning considering I have been up over 24 hours in total with a step-son in ID and one in WI keeping me informed and as up-to-date as possible on what was happening with the Chief. This afternoon I decided I would go down to ID through the Panhandle on May 1st crossing my fingers for obvious reasons mentioned above and be with the Chief for three and a half weeks. He was home for a very short time today but once again had breathing difficulties and the altitude where we live comes into play as a factor in regard to his breathing difficulties. We live over a mile above sea level which is difficult for him and while he was in the small hospital we began discussing a move to WI where his oldest son lives and where the altitude is much lower. Apparently he also has a touch of pneumonia which doesn’t help with the breathing either. Tomorrow his son, my step-son, will be going to look at two assisted living facilities where he will be until I go down the 1st of May. Naturally the entire family is undergoing a lot of stress and strain with this situation and they cannot understand how or why the government of ID and the Federal Government have done what they did. “What God has joined together let no man tear asunder” and yet both levels of government did exactly that. I can only stay for 3 1/2 weeks because my orthopedic surgeon informed me that I could have surgery in the Lethbridge hospital as early as July to receive a new shoulder ball joint. I am trying to keep all affairs in order in which include phoning the insurance company about a settlement with the city because of the poorly maintained sidewalk. After that I still have to wait to have the 7 compressed discs repaired in my back as I am determined to remain out of a wheelchair. As of yet, not a single orthopedic surgeon has even commented on those discs and I have not even had a bone scan done. The Chief is resting comfortably tonight and by tomorrow night hopefully he will be resting in an extended care home until I can get there but by then maybe the pneumonia will have cleared up and he can handle the amount of time left in the home in ID. If not then I will have to go down again and try to pack up as much as I can with one hand and arm and have it moved to his son’s home while he goes on to WI where the altitude is much lower. Then I would have to have my other step-son drive a longer distance to come and get me but at least he has a sleeper in his truck so it wouldn’t put an undue strain on my back. That is how things remain at the moment so I am praying that the Chief improves healthwise and shakes the depression which he seems to be suffering from. He has always been the healthy one while I have had the medical problems, and this recent bout of difficulties has thrown him for a loop. I thank one and all for your prayers and ask that you continue with them until we can be together once again even if it is only for 3 1/2 weeks, may they go by extremely slowly and may I have a box of kleenex handy when that time is up. Once again Thank-you from Mrs ChiefEngineer.
P.S. If anyone has a little weight they want to lose I’ll take it since I am now down to 80 lbs from all the stress.
