I just now ended a phone call with my step-son, it is 1:43 am and I dread to see what my own blood sugar reading will be in the proper morning considering I have been up over 24 hours in total with a step-son in ID and one in WI keeping me informed and as up-to-date as possible on what was happening with the Chief. This afternoon I decided I would go down to ID through the Panhandle on May 1st crossing my fingers for obvious reasons mentioned above and be with the Chief for three and a half weeks. He was home for a very short time today but once again had breathing difficulties and the altitude where we live comes into play as a factor in regard to his breathing difficulties. We live over a mile above sea level which is difficult for him and while he was in the small hospital we began discussing a move to WI where his oldest son lives and where the altitude is much lower. Apparently he also has a touch of pneumonia which doesn’t help with the breathing either. Tomorrow his son, my step-son, will be going to look at two assisted living facilities where he will be until I go down the 1st of May. Naturally the entire family is undergoing a lot of stress and strain with this situation and they cannot understand how or why the government of ID and the Federal Government have done what they did. “What God has joined together let no man tear asunder” and yet both levels of government did exactly that. I can only stay for 3 1/2 weeks because my orthopedic surgeon informed me that I could have surgery in the Lethbridge hospital as early as July to receive a new shoulder ball joint. I am trying to keep all affairs in order in which include phoning the insurance company about a settlement with the city because of the poorly maintained sidewalk. After that I still have to wait to have the 7 compressed discs repaired in my back as I am determined to remain out of a wheelchair. As of yet, not a single orthopedic surgeon has even commented on those discs and I have not even had a bone scan done. The Chief is resting comfortably tonight and by tomorrow night hopefully he will be resting in an extended care home until I can get there but by then maybe the pneumonia will have cleared up and he can handle the amount of time left in the home in ID. If not then I will have to go down again and try to pack up as much as I can with one hand and arm and have it moved to his son’s home while he goes on to WI where the altitude is much lower. Then I would have to have my other step-son drive a longer distance to come and get me but at least he has a sleeper in his truck so it wouldn’t put an undue strain on my back. That is how things remain at the moment so I am praying that the Chief improves healthwise and shakes the depression which he seems to be suffering from. He has always been the healthy one while I have had the medical problems, and this recent bout of difficulties has thrown him for a loop. I thank one and all for your prayers and ask that you continue with them until we can be together once again even if it is only for 3 1/2 weeks, may they go by extremely slowly and may I have a box of kleenex handy when that time is up. Once again Thank-you from Mrs ChiefEngineer.
P.S. If anyone has a little weight they want to lose I’ll take it since I am now down to 80 lbs from all the stress.

Oh, my. Prayers to all of you. It sounds like the Chief would do much better in WI and the sooner the better.

Wish I could give you 10 pounds or so.

Continuing to pray.
