Obama urges business heads to push Congress in support of climate and energy bill

Obama made the plug during a meeting Friday with his Economic Recovery Advisory Board, which includes the heads of General Electric, Caterpillar and Oracle, along with labor leaders and economists.
He told the group the climate bill — which would cap global warming emissions — is good for business and that members of Congress need to hear that.
"Individual members of Congress may be worried about the implications, at least short term," of voting for the legislation, and hearing from businesses would be reassuring, Obama said. The more business can be out front" the better, he said.

What I don’t understand except he lies is why businesses that Obama wants to ruin would get behind this POS at all.

The President tells private businesses to pressure the Senate and the Senate is to listen and obey.
And here I thought the Senate was supposed to listen to the people/
Of course, the Senate has been in the pocket of big business for decades, doing THEIR will, not the peoples.
Since they are, for all intents and purposed, employees of Big Business, shouldn't they stop getting their paychecks and perks from us?
