So I wonder. Are you going to vote for Judy based on what you're saying? The idea is to win something. I liked Brady too, but I wasn't naive enough to le good be the enemy of perfect. How will you vote in the fall?

Okay. I'm sorry. I'm tired today. Long day, Long night. Worked as an election judge yesterday. While it was a loss for both of us yesterday, I have one good spot for me personally.

Bill Brady did win Champaign County. While some of you in the bigger counties may not see that as much. For some of us who have had the ground game going here, this is a big victory.

    Here are the totals:

Out of 22,618 votes cast here are the total for Champaign county:

    VOTES. . . . .PERCENT
    BALLOTS CAST - GREEN. . . . . . . 45 * * * * * * .20
    BALLOTS CAST - DEMOCRAT. . . . 7,161* * * * * *31.66
    BALLOTS CAST - REPUBLICAN . . 14,293* * * * * *63.19
    BALLOTS CAST - NONPARTISAN. .. 1,119* * * * * * 4.95

(WITH 117 OF 117 PRECINCTS COUNTED)
    Bill Brady . . . . . . . . . . 6,400* * * * *45.15
    Judy Baar Topinka. . . . . . . 4,586* * * * *32.35
    Jim Oberweis . . . . . . . . . 2,364* * * * *16.68
    Ron Gidwitz. . . . . . . . . . 764* * * * * 5.39
    Andy Martin. . . . . . . . . . 54* * * * * *.38
    WRITE-IN. . . . . . . . . . . 8* * * * * *.06
    Over Votes . . . . . . . . . . . . 3
    Under Votes . . . . . . . . . . . 89

However the funniest part of the night was on the democratic side:

    Edwin Eisendrath . . . . . . . . 3,504* * * * 52.75
    Rod R. Blagojevich . . . . . . . 3,081* * * * 46.38

Blago lost Champaign County. lol That's too funny for me!

"If Oberweis had maintained consistent principles throughout his campaigns, as opposed to sticking a moistened finger in the air to ascertain where the political winds were blowing, perhaps he wouldn't find himself in such a pickle."

The voice of reason. I'm sorry about your state of affairs in TN and I hope it gets better for you soon.

I think in my neck of the woods, in spite of the snow, turnout will be big in Champaign county b/c of referendums. Some people in the SW part of town have a couple to vote on as well as the entire city has a heated school board referendum (nothing like those to bring out the voters).

We never know what will happen but all I know is it's less than 24 hours before opening of polls and personally when tomorrow is over, part of me will be happy.

Been a lot of hard work and getting the message out.

Uh you're right. It should read:

"Do you think voters will go Oberweis' way" sorry thank you for pointing that out.

I think the best thing to do is let the voters decide.
If Brady beats Oberweis, then isn't he the spoiler?

Oh my freakin gosh. Ya know, Mr. Oberwies can get out and endorse Brady too. This runs both ways. You can't honestly say that after all the stunts Mr. Oberweis has pulled you think the swing voters will go his way.

And let's say that Mr. Brady bows out. Do you really feel that his voters will go Brady's way this late in the race? HECK NO! They might even break for Topinka seeing her as the lesser of two evils (I definitely wouldn't vote Topinka, but some would and have.) and electability.

You guys are as dillusional as the dems who want to Impeach Bush.

Spitting up blood? I don't think so. I hope that Senator Brady at least beats Mr. Oberweis. Looserweis has done too much to make a lot of people I know very upset with politics in general.

We'll see. When the voters hear these latest antics, hopefully they will be leaving the loony train of Loopyweis and joining the victory train of Brady.

    Go Bill!

Exactly fieldmarhsaldj. I'm voting for Brady also. The recent antics with Looserweis has left a severe distaste in my mouth.

I like Brady b/c he is talking about the issues and Looserweis has been trying to get him to throw mud. Straw poll? Calling him a liar when Oberweis has his facts wrong. It's sad.

If anyone should drop out of the race, it should be Mr. Oberweis and let a class act like Senator Brady win this primary.

It's just that he's saying or supposedly saying at one place he is being nice to one candidate and supporting another. The GOP up there was seeing his positive comments as an endorsement. I just thought it was funny that's all.

"I will not vote for Judy Bore Toooopinka if she is nominated. I will vote against her. I will vote for Blago if necessary to keep Toooooopinkovna out of public life. I hope that Republicans will join me in not voting for her. Blago is a better choice for the GOP since his re-election over Toooooopinkovna lets the GOP internal party purge begin this November rather than decent Republicans being stuck with the worthless lifestyle leftist witch in power for four years, using taxpayers' money to buy enough "pragmatists" to keep the spineless and treasonous appendage of the Illinois GOP alive and in business."

Do you really think this will work? It seems to me that Conservatives have been trying this strategy for several years and it hasn't worked.

We need money to defeat these leftists in the GOP. Some kind of combined effort might do it. Elections don't seem to mean anything for them as we have been through 2 or 3 cycles with no change. They are settling in as we are doing the same.

    Any thoughts?

Hey, I have started another forum on Steve Rauschenberger. This one's pretty funny. I know you support Sandy Wedgeman(sp?).

Talk about your screw ups (Rauschenberger).

I'm still not sure who I'm going to vote for but Sandy Wedgeman is looking better right now.

"Governor Rod gave the day off to state employees--without pay."

How nice of him. Without pay??!!?? Oh boy.

Maybe I'm out in left field but it should have been with pay especially if you are without power and you need to take care of your family. That man... grrr.

Does anyone know what the "F-scale" was? F-2, F-3? I didn't know it was a wedge when I heard about it before.

True. I'm not trying to make enemies. I am trying to get my vote out. I just feel that Oberweis isn't the best candidate either. I think he's doing the same thing the moderates are doing. vote for me b/c I have the best chance in winning and forget my negatives. I just can't do it.

But like you, my ultimate goal is to not have Judy. So maybe I should encourage you and everyone else to join Brady.

Not just thinking primary but general election. Judy's negatives are too high. But after these past two weeks with Oberweiss and Gidwitz, so are theirs. I haven't been to the website yet to see polling (will have to do after this). But nevertheless, I'm going to work hard for my candidate as you are definetly for yours. So may the best person win.

Titans, I do agree that we must get rid of Judy and Gidwitz. As you well know I seriously don't like Oberweis. And you know I'm working for Brady and supporting him. I guess my thing is, how can we get our vote out? Isn't that the real issue?

I'm wondering about the St. Louis Dispatch poll. I think it's flawed and not truly representative of who will vote next Tuesday. But maybe I'm wrong. Prove it to me. Also. What are collar counties? Are those outside Chicago? Then I do feel this is wrong. Why not have a larger sampling of people across the state?

No it's not. Not everyone. You do realize that there are dem people on there as well as everyone else. Not everyone is a Topinka backer but it is a mixed bag.

Sorry. I think it's an excellent blog - it give you more of a rounded opinion.

Absolutely yes. Did you see that Gidwitz did a noon or something like that press-conference? I haven't read anything too much from it but it's on the www.capitalfaxblog.com website.

I don't like Gidwitz that much either. Something about him bothers me. Along the same lines as Andy Martin. He either speaks too slow for his head or he can't articulate well.

I almost can see the brain working 10xs faster than his mouth. lol

I'm hoping that we can have a good candidate. Not Topinka or Gidwitz and DEFINTELY not Martin (shivers). While I don't like Oberweis I could (maybe) vote for him. I truly like Brady the best. I believe he would try to do the best for the state.

Thanks for the info on the polls. It would help to know where everyone is. I know Judy has gone down. I couldn't see her taking these hits and not being beat. Hopefully as people find out about her, they can not vote for her and Gidwitz is about to implode himself (okay, I hope). We'll see.

Take care and have a good weekend.
