I made Mitt ride on top this trip.

It has been my experience that Army chaplains hold seperate denominational, and non-denominational services. Keeping the two seperate. One being specific. The other being generic. I must add, that while I agree with the position, should they make a move, by order, to enforce. Rebellion would then be my choice.

As a Catholic, and a retired member of the Armed Forces, I agree with the decision. You can flame if you like. Politics from the pulpit in the Armed Forces, is akin to politics in uniform. A big no no. We are not expected to reject our faith, and can freely discuss these matters in private, and agree with the Church. We simply can’t do it publicly. That is what our service and our oath requires.

Chaplains in the military are required, too not only administer to their own faithful, but to hold non-denominational services as well. They are required to minister to all Soldiers under their command. They can certainly seek out members of their Church, and impart the contents of the letter, in private fashion.

I had a Baptist Chaplain while serving in Iraq. I attended both non-denominational, and Baptist services. At no time did he impart Church position on political issues. He sinply dealt with scripture, sermon, and lecture. he would apply all three to the issues of faith, family, and Soldiering. As it should be.

Amazing, all of it. It is a sad commentary. I do not expect them to personally respond to me, nor shold they necessarily have to. There is not enough time in the day. The problem is that I’m sure the correspondence to their offices has been overwhelmingly against the legislation, and yet they choose not to address that fact. We are lost, I’m afraid.

It truly is insane.

One of his staffers did call me a couple of years ago, addressing my concerns. My son also recieved a personal letter from him for one of his Merit Badges. That being said, I recieved a form letter from his office, in regard to the debt limit deal. That’s the problem, all of Washington is punting, running and hiding.

I have to say that I'am extremely dissapointed with your recent actions. The raising of the debt limit, and the budget comission agreement, only speaks volumes as to what is truly wrong in Washington. Our founding fathers did not intend for our government to be bipartison. Too the contrary, they wished for Congress and the Senate to be at odds with one another. Prior to the 17th. Amendment states chose their Senators. The people chose their representatives. Now the people choose both. So for the better part of a century, our elected officials, you and your collegues, past and present,have chosen to punt. Simply to maintain your positions and status.

Make no mistake,sir, you chose to punt. Does a business, who faces financial, or fiscal difficulties, hire more, and spend more to solve their problems? I argue, that they most certainly do not. Yet the Debt Comission, I'm sure, will recieve a seperate budget, and new staff hires as well. Please do not insult the peoples intelligence, by saying that the comissions budget will be appropriated from available funds. Everytime Washington creates a comission, the Nation's cash register rings. Please remind me, where in the Constitution, it say we need to investigate the steroid use of professional athletes.

It saddens me to say that I will be looking to support another candidate, should you choose to run for re-election. You, Sir, a Marine Officer, whom has taken the Oath at least twice, should hang your head in shame. You chose not to defend the Republic.

Seriously, wow I will have some of what your smoking. McCain loves Pawlenty, ie the man is a total rino. Pawlenty has never met a green plan he did not like. Light Rail, clean water (tax), cap and trade.

Bad news. He supports the green agenda, mass transit, and is tight with McCain. True rino. Last election cycle he suppoted a new tax that was voted in (the clean water act). The money goes into the general fund, i.e. will get ear marked for social spending, not the environment like it was intended. They only sampled %14 of the lakes to make their case. RINO’s are stupid, they allow themselves the luxury of being bi-partisan, but get steamrolled in the end. Not to mention Pawlenty is about as interesting as a box of rocks.

It’s happening now. Our president is intentionally fanning the flames. He and his party are losing the battle of public opinion in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana. Throw in the Middle East, for good measure. There is no doubt in my mind, that this man relishes such behavior, and takes great pleasure in it. A proper analogy would be; “The man likes limitless calories at his dinner table, while restricting the amount that we are allowed to have at ours.”

Deflect, deflect, deflect. Nero’s fiddle is sitting in his closet, and he takes it out daily. It is not his or his parties opinions that draw my ire. It is their total lack of respect for their fellow man. Soon I will no longer abide this indignity.

Amen!!! That is why I attend school board meetings now. I never used too. Never to late I guess. More Conservative parents need to show up. Not showing up is what got us to this point. Voice your opinion. Show up armed with facts, and don’t back down.

You are 90% correct, and I agree. It’s the “must” though, (”Must eat Bacon day.”). Government cannot and must not compell individuals, to suspend their personal liberties, at the expense of someone elses personal feelings. Which is Ironic, given that is exactly what they practice. We are a Christian nation. Yet Christians are the only ones required to suspend their personal liberties and freedoms. Fostered by the very Government that is charged with protecting those liberties, for all. Non-Christians that have imigrated here, if offended by our Christian culture, need to re-think their choice to do so. I don’t imigrate to their nations for a reason.

You are correct! The problem is; The Liberals flock to these programs. They feel that they are obligated to provide the children with a moral compass. Their moral compass. Instead of giving the kid’s a leg up by teaching the children to read and write, prior to entering academia, they chose to indoctrinate instead. If Conservatives were to volunteer, and teach/mentor these children, we would have a better program, and healthier children.

It really burns my chaps when they allow displays of Mexican flags in schools, then send children home who proudly display the American flag. Sorry, American school means that the American flag is the only one that shall be displayed. The Pope while a Cardinal, said in 2001; (paraphrasing) “ It is the responsibility of the host nation to welcome immigrants and recognize their plight. Show compassion. It is also the reponsibility of the immigrant to accept the culture and traditions of the host nation, and to faithfully practice those traditions.” I agree. I’am certainly cappable of showing my fellow man compassion. I only ask for a moderate amount of respect in return.

I spent 14 months in Iraq. The Iraqies worked on some of the bases. In order for them to do so, they were subject to what amounted to a strip search, Hijab and all. They gladly complied. Often removing their Hijab, and opening it up, without be asked to do so. They understood the rules, and simply wished to work. Yet, here, we are required to defer to their traditions and repect their culture; i.e. drivers license pictures, security, the free display of christianity, etc... NO!!!!! Don’t like it leave. As for those immigrants who love this country and respect our nation’s traditions, I stand shoulder to shoulder with you, and would love to experience some of your culture.
