It was thirteen years ago this holiday. George W. Bush made a surprise trip to Iraq to encourage American troops who were fighting the War against Islamic Terrorism in Iraq. As the president was photographed serving Thanksgiving turkey to soldiers in the battlefield, subversive journalists in the U.S. reported the visit as a political stunt. One day later H i l l a r y C l i n t o n showed up in Iraq and was praised by the same media as heroic. That was it for me. I turned the TV off and began my lifetime boycott...

A spreadsheet circulating on social media encourages people to boycott a list of Pittsburgh businesses with ownership, which may support President-elect Donald Trump. The list was created by Liana Maneese who said she was inspired after seeing a list of national businesses to boycott. "It's not just Trump supporters. It's rather what they stand for. Deeply seated fear that fuels the oppression and hatred of any group different than themselves," said Maneese.

Amazon will almost certainly enjoy its biggest ever day on Black Friday next week. The discount shopping event will help the American online retailer to continue its run of 22 years of unbroken and dramatic sales growth since it was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos. It is now valued at more than $375bn (£304bn), making it one of the biggest companies in the world. However, despite the predicted spending spree on Black Friday, the rise of Amazon and Bezos now face arguably their biggest challenge yet - Donald Trump.... The battle started last December with a series of seemingly...

"As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom, and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady," wrote fashion designer Sophie Theallet in an open letter this week. People magazine reports Theallet, who has designed and donated clothes for outgoing First Lady Michelle Obama numerous times over the last eight years, may not be alone: "A source tells People, 'This has already been going on for months. The hashtag #BoycottHamilton became a top trend on social media Saturday after cast members from the popular Broadway show Hamilton lectured Vice President-elect Mike Pence from the stage on Friday night. Vice President-elect Mike Pence took in the hit Broadway hip-hop musical “Hamilton” last night in New York City. As you could imagine, he was booed when he entered the theater in the deep blue state. But it gets worse. The performers actually took a stance against Pence, as well. For real. From BizPac Review: The vice president-elect was greeted with a mix of cheers and jeers as he entered, and exited, “Hamilton.” And in between, he received a lecture from Brandon Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr in the musical. “Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you and we truly thank you...

Sorry for the vanity, but... Just received newsletter from Penzey's Spices owner Bill Penzey. We (used to) love the place and have a cabinet full of wonderful spices that delight our noses and our palates. We've been aware of his ideology in the past, and have been able to put it aside and continue to patronize his stores, both brick & mortar and online. But no more. Here is an excerpt from the newsletter, wherein he seems to attempt to extinguish a previously-set fire with a can of gasoline. This guy needs to learn when to STFU... "Racism Update: At...

Retailers have begun ditching Ivanka's brand under the growing pressure of the anti-Trump boycott. Shoes.com, a Canadian online shoe store, became the first retailer to announce it was dropping Ivanka Trump's shoe line last week, following the GrabYourWallet campaign. Shannon Coulter kicked off the boycott on October 11, a reference to Trump's now famous 'grab them by the p***y' remark from the audio tape and numerous allegations of sexual assault by the president-elect.
