The American Music Awards took a pretty big ratings hit Sunday, falling considerably from the shows 2015 rating and hitting an all-time low in adults 18-49.
ABCs broadcast of the AMAs drew a 2.4 rating in adults 18-49, down 31 percent from last years 3.5. Its the lowest 18-49 rating on record for the awards, whose previous low point was a 3.4 in 2012.

Looks like many viewers were turned off by all the Trump bashing and turned it off.

That, combined with the utter stupidity of Gigi Hadid (?) was enough for my kids to turn it off shortly after it began.

Who watches these infantile, low-talent dregs of American society who crave the spotlight on their worthless lives? If they disappeared today, the nation would not care.

Was it actually ‘music’ or just rap crap?

So a 2.4 is terrible for the AMAs but it’s good for SNL.

For me, music is like illegal drugs. I don’t even know where to go to buy an album.
One really annoying thing about our new car is that it has no CD player. We have tons of CD’s that my wife loves and I’m stuck with ripping CD’s. Lots of them.
The last time I paid for any music whatsoever was a double CD in 1997. Interestingly, it wasn’t music, it was Monty Python, and, in incredible irony, the title was, “The Final Ripoff”.

Yeah, ratings are graded on a curve. “Events” that only happen once a year and cost a lot are expected to have much higher ratings than weekly shows with much lower overhead.

Poorly written..poorly produced...poorly performed: changed the channel after 5 minutes of stumbling intro and a bad performance by an otherwise talented singer/ writer, Bruno.
I knew the Trump thing was coming: that would have been ENTERTAINMENT! But waiting through the amateurish deliveries and psudo-music was more than I could take.

Assuming you haven’t already done so, use your computer to rip your CD to MP3 files. Having done that I have several hundred songs on a thumb drive to play in the car. No shuffling disks.

Yeah. That’s how I do it. But it is absurdly time consuming when you have a few hundred to do.
