Every morning I wake up before 5am Eastern and switch on the TV to watch the early version of ″Fox & Friends″. Aside from enjoying my breakfast with the lovely Heather Childress, I learn what the ′Big News′ item is for the day ahead. The big topic this morning was a Midnight tweet on Twitter by President Donald Trump. The story is that he allegedly misspelled the word ′coverage′ when he wrote ′covfefe′ instead in a tweet about the negative press. As a Shaolin Master Abbott of the Temple of Trump Fu, I saw the true purpose of the...

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg thinks there's a "55 percent chance" President Trump will be reelected in 2020. Bloomberg, who politically identifies as independent, told New York Times columnist Frank Bruni that he thought Democrats didn't have an effective message to win the 2016 election and could repeat that mistake in 2020. “Hillary said, ‘Vote for me because I’m a woman and the other guy’s bad,’” Bloomberg said about 2016. He said Democrats are still looking for issues and messages. And he worries that too many Democrats are eager to jump into the 2020 race. “They’ll step on...

Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, the eighth-richest person in the United States, and the billionaire behind the rabidly anti-gun group Everytown for Gun Safety, was asked on CBS’ “60 Minutes” why he didn’t run for president of the United States. His answer was revealing. “If I thought we could win, or had a reasonable chance, I would have [run for president],” he said. “It would be totally unlikely, very unlikely that an independent could win. And in my case, I was mayor for a long time. People know where I stand. I couldn’t pretend to be something...

SANTA FE – A national trend in favor of so-called “soda tax” initiatives took a hit Tuesday when Santa Fe voters soundly rejected a proposed 2-cents-per-ounce tax on the distributors of sugar-sweetened beverages in a special election unlike anything New Mexico’s capital city has seen before. Santa Fe’s 2-cents-per-ounce proposal would have matched Boulder, Colo., as the highest in the nation and was aimed at financing an effort to make 1,000 pre-kindergarten education slots available to Santa Fe children for free or at affordable rates. The campaign drew intense interest locally and money poured in from outside the state, with...

Voters in New Mexico’s capital city rejected a tax increase on sweetened beverages Tuesday, handing a rare victory to the soft-drink industry after a string of recent defeats. The tax failed with 11,533 votes against and only 8,382 votes in favor, the Santa Fe City Clerk’s Office announced. The special election came after similar taxes were adopted last year in cities from Philadelphia to San Francisco. Outside groups and political committees spent more than $3 million on the special election in Santa Fe, with opponents led by the soft-drink industry and supporters by billionaire Michael Bloomberg, a staunch supporter of...

Michale Bloomberg's purchased gun control groups Mom's Demand Action and Everytown promised to "confront" the National Rifle Association in Atlanta (GA) during the NRA's Annual Meetings and Exhibits. It was a less than impressive event. According to an officer providing security at the event, Mom's Demand and Everytown brought just 75-100 people to Woodruff Park to "confront" the NRA, at a venue 7/10ths of a mile away from the Annual Meetings. The twinned gun control groups appear to have attempted to pad their numbers by handing out tee shirts to the many homeless people inhabiting the park, though most...

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg dismissed sanctuary cities on Tuesday, saying that those who oppose federal immigration laws should try to change them in legislatures. "Morning Joe" panelist Steve Rattner asked Bloomberg for his take on the cities that refuse to cooperate with federal officials on detaining and deporting illegal immigrants. "You cannot, Steve, have everybody deciding which laws they should obey," Bloomberg said. "The law is the law."

New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg urged world leaders not to follow President Donald Trump’s lead on climate change and declared his intention to help save an international agreement to reduce carbon emissions. Bloomberg, who considered a presidential bid after serving three terms as New York City’s mayor, addressed his intensifying focus on climate change in an interview with The Associated Press. He said there was no political motive tied to last week’s release of his new book, “Climate of Hope: How Cities, Businesses, and Citizens Can Save the Planet,” co-authored by former Sierra Club executive director Carl Pope. “I’m not...

The world was on a knife’s edge last night as North Korea celebrated the 105th anniversary of the birth of their founding leader Kim il-Sung. Tensions between the reclusive Communist nation and the United States have never been lower, and rumors were swirling that the U.S. would launch a pre-emptive strike if North Korea seemed ready to demonstrate any of their nuclear capabilities. So it was in that context that the Chinese State media agency Xinhua and Bloomberg made a potentially world altering headline error, Friday night.

Anti-gun liberals haven’t let their big loss in 2016 get them down. On the contrary — they’re redoubling their efforts. In a press release Monday, Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun group Everytown for Gun Safety announced a $25 million effort to thwart national concealed carry reciprocity:

A democratic pro-gun control group plans to spend up to $25 million in ads during the 2018 midterms against concealed carry legislation. Everytown for Gun Safety was founded by former Republican mayor of New York City Mike Bloomberg. The group also announced several key hires ahead of the election, and plans to focus the majority of it’s attention in state legislature races

On Tuesday, Joe Scarborough took The New York Times to task for downplaying revelations that former Obama administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice reportedly requested the unmasking of Trump campaign officials — and he may have a point. In an April 3 piece titled, Trump Tries to Deflect Russia Scrutiny, Citing ‘Crooked Scheme’ by Obama, the paper of record only included the Rice news within the broader story of Trump deriding former president Obama, writing: {..snip..}

Bloomberg terminals recently launched a partnership with Twitter, enabling traders to track and trade off Mr. Trump's tweets. The new feature of the financial reporting system is just another example of how the business world is grappling with the new reality of the Trump presidency

A universal gun background check measure, approved by Nevada voters and touted as a victory by gun control advocates, was supposed to take effect after the clock struck midnight Saturday and residents rang in the new year. But the FBI and Nevada’s attorney general, calling the initiative unenforceable, have put it on hold indefinitely. The unexpected development is a welcome surprise for Second Amendment supporters, who have long been critical of such background check efforts funded by Michael’s R. Bloomberg’s gun control advocacy group, Everytown for Gun Safety.
