  • How Trump can secure victory tomorrow night

Tomorrow night’s debate might be one of the most watched events in US television history, in competition with the Who Shot JR? cliffhanger and the last episode of MASH. The stakes are high and nothing less than the White House. Failure tomorrow night for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton may signal the beginning of a permanent downward trend in their campaigns. Hillary Clinton will walk on stage in the attack mode and with all the charm of a pit bull locked in a broom closet. Hillary’s soft side is a bed of nails. She’ll attempt to be tough and...
  • U.S. police killings reminiscent of lynching, U.N. group says

Police killings of black people in the United States are reminiscent of lynchings and the government must do far more to protect them, a United Nations working group says in a report that will be debated at the U.N. Human Rights Council on Monday. The hard-hitting criticism - drawing a comparison between modern police behaviour and mob killings of blacks in the 19th and 20th centuries - comes at a time of renewed racial tension in the United States. This week Charlotte, North Carolina, saw street riots over the shooting of a black man, Keith Scott, by a black police...
  • Hillary AD-vantage gone, Trump on the march

Trump has three advantages that are just kicking in that each could give Trump a lasting bump that can put him over the top. If they all materialize, it is hard to see how Trump loses. (1) King NeverTrump Surrenders Ted Cruz endorsed Trump when the race was already tied. Cruz had a hardcore following around the country, and his steadfast opposition no doubt persuaded some of his supporters to also withhold support. It will not persuade the establishment holdouts to change their minds, but they really just don't seem to matter much this time around.  Hillary has already consolidated...

I have friends from both sides of the aisle on FB. I generally ignore their political posts, especially during elections. But I have noticed a new trend in the past week or two. The lower Hillary is in the polls, the louder, the more derisive, and the more often they are posting about Trump and his supporters. I don't think that we are even close to seeing the meltdown of Hillary's minions.

Now that our monsoon is winding down, perhaps you are noticing areas on your property where heavy rainfalls have begun to wash away one of your most precious resources – your soil. Depending on the topography of your property, you may notice areas of bare ground, new small channels that are forming or older channels that are deepening with every rain event. Soil erosion is a natural and human-caused phenomenon worldwide and can even be seen from space through satellite imagery. For example, a quick peak on Google Maps of the delta south of New Orleans shows a very muddy,...

Talk about a loaded question! Right? All the same, for this conversation and if all parties agree to embrace total honesty, neither answer is accurate. Unless you happen to be a heavenly being on a deluxe slumming tour of our charming little planet, you are probably part devil and part angel. The only difference is the degree to which either entity is in greater control than the other at any given time. Of course, we do not mean to imply that an actual miniature devil sits on one shoulder and a miniature angel on the other whispering in your ears,...

What's in it for America, and for you? The Islamic State of Iran is held to be a sovereign state bordered on its west by Iraq and Turkey, in the east by Pakistan and Afghanistan, to the north by the Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, and to the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. This presents the world of Asia with a land mass of over 636,000 square miles. Barack Obama said, in Oregon, in 2008, that Iran is “…a tiny country,” and that, “they don’t pose a serious threat to us.” However, how does...

America should be ruled by law. Not political correctness which apparently treats an American black president as above the law and immune from the just and proper administration of justice According to FBI files released on Friday, Obama on June 28, 2012 communicated by email using a fake name with Hillary’s private unsecure email. And as such, they knowingly passed classified information between each other outside of secure proper government controls. As a result, they are both guilty of breaching the Espionage Act and both Obama and Hillary should be going to jail. Here is the relevant section of the...
  • Comparing Barrel Twist Rates

    Am Shooting Journal ^ | 9/25/2016 | J Hines
When a bullet is fired, the rifling of the barrel puts a twist on the bullet in order to improve accuracy, increase the distance traveled, and to stabilize the bullet as it moves through the air towards its target. Twist rates are often set up as a ratio, such as 1:14, 1:12, or 1:7, which refers to inches per turn. A twist rate of 1:10 means the bullet will turn one time in 10 inches of the barrel. Rifling was discovered in 15th century Germany and most likely took the science behind arrows, which are fletched in a way that...

Everything that ever happens is not a reason for a race war, and we need to stop acting like it is My friend Dr. Alveda King was on Fox News last week invoking the words of her uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King: “Either we live together as brothers or we die together as fools.” That seemed more important than ever as the riots in Charlotte entered a second night, and no one could say for sure how long it would last, or how many people would be hurt. It now appears that at least one life has been tragically lost....

I date myself by saying that my first knowing glimpses of an unclad human female's top came from the venerable "National Geographic" Magazine. While the photos were always in context with the learned articles, still, when the article was set in the tropics of some exotic place, even the most sheltered child could get a glimpse of 'forbidden fruit!'

“That ain’t no cop’s gun, Frank!” —DIRTY HARRY 2: MAGNUM FORCE, 1973. Does anybody really think the police are so stupid they would toss “a throw down, cold piece,” a planted gun, into a crime scene, knowing they are under video surveillance from multiple sources? And that the police never heard about pocket-lint being caught in a throw-down, “cold piece,” thereby ultimately incriminating the thrower?

Yes, This Election is a Life and Death Matter – What to do? The answer is easy and it raises yet one further question – who is listening? The thing about politics that is easy to disdain is that it more often than not uses words to cover and mask serious errors in judgment with more publicly acceptable rhetorical phrases and words. Wickedness and immorality are clandestinely draped with words like, liberalism, inclusion, civil rights and safety. It is only when we examine the product of a world view that we see what it really is – or do we?

It’s a “little girls’ game,” Mr. Trump and the little girl that wants to be president is one that loudly screams: “Misogynist!” Mainstream media headlines on the day after the first presidential debate at Hofstra University: ‘Donald Trump, World’s Biggest Misogynist!” That’s the plan, and that will be the mainstream media’s take no matter how Trump performs at the debate. On the day after the presidential debate, moderated by NBC’s Lester Holt and expected to attract upwards of 100 million viewers, Mark Cuban sitting in in the front row as Hillary Clinton’s guest, and Gennifer Flowers should she show up...

Irked by the decision of 20 million Americans who have declined to sign up for Obamacare, the IRS is crafting a letter to advise them of the "antisocial implications" of non-participation. Commissioner John Koskinen explained that "failure to enroll evinces a lack of cooperation with a policy that the government has determined is necessary. Non-compliers may feel that enrollment is optional. It is not. That's why there is a fine. Paying the fine doesn't get them off the hook." Koskinen pointed out that "not only does the amount of the fine ratchet up each year, our Agency has other tools...

New Quinnipiac polls offer encouraging data for Donald Trump and a sagging future for Hillary Clinton. The Q-poll shows Clinton leading in Colorado 44/42, and in Virginia 45/39. It shows Trump leading 47/40 in Georgia and 44/37 in Iowa. In Colorado, where Obama won by 5 points in 2012, Clinton’s 8 point lead on August 17 has dissipated to 2 points which is within the 3.9% MOE. Moreover, Colorado is 87% White which is just at the beginning of certain trouble for Clinton since she is polling so poorly with Whites that Reuters has ALREADY all but called Vermont for...

Although overshadowed by your regularly scheduled terror attacks, as well as pre-debate effluvia, the media’s attempt to turn Donald Trump Jr.’s recent tweet into a cause célèbre for smug leftists is worth examining in detail. While some right wing pundits pointed out the similarity between his Skittles metaphor and a feminist-inspired meme involving a different chewy candy, the actual root of this analogy is the precautionary principle, a deeply flawed approach to risk management. The idea being that the introduction of a new product or process whose impact is unknown or disputed should be resisted. The problem is that the...

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will win the race for the White House, says an American professor, who has correctly predicted all the last eight presidents of the United States. Allan Lichtman, a distinguished professor of history at American University, told The Washington Post that based on a system he calls "Keys to the White House", Trump will emerge victorious in the November election. “Based on the 13 keys, it would predict a Donald Trump victory,” he claimed. The professor said he derived the system of true/false statements, "by looking at every American presidential election from 1860 to 1980,...

I’m feeling a bit whimsical today so this flight of fancy is perfect. Photographer Dylan Winter captures the glorious “murmurations” of several hundred thousand starlings as they rise and fall, arc and plane in self-organizing choreography on their way home for the night. Can you hear the sound of a half million wings beating in unison? That’s known as a murmuration, my friend.I have found evidence of other equally impressive self-organizing “murmurations” where birds of a feather  flock together.  I know these have been posted before butt watch the whole thing anyway; it’s almost like going to church. Can you hear...
