My friend Dr. Alveda King was on Fox News last week invoking the words of her uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King: “Either we live together as brothers or we die together as fools.”
That seemed more important than ever as the riots in Charlotte entered a second night, and no one could say for sure how long it would last, or how many people would be hurt. It now appears that at least one life has been tragically lost. During the week, Rob gave you examples here, here and here of just how out-of-control these “peaceful protesters” got, while Dan explained how irresponsible reporting by the media stoked the riots in the first place.
Look, I can understand the perspective of many black people, especially black men, who feel they are in danger when they encounter the police in a way that white people do not. They have heard so many stories of black men being shot by the police, how can you blame them for wondering if they too might be in jeopardy even if they are doing nothing wrong?
When a shooting occurs between the police and a citizen, I think that (in general) both the cop and the citizen may have made some bad choices. Some shoots are righteous. Some are not.
But I do NOT think the police are in the habit of walking up to people who are doing exactly as they are told, and then just blowing them away. That’s just dumb. Police don’t do that.
If blacks would just sit in their cars, with their hands in plain sight, and follow instructions, I think there would be a lot fewer incidents.
But maybe this thought process is too complex for some.

Stop making sense
In nearly every case that the BLM terrorists have adopted and rioted over, the decedent was a POS with a criminal history and was DEFIANT to police who were legally and lawfully present and giving him/her orders they were legally bound to be compliant with. Period. Full stop.
We have two cultures. One that is law abiding, the other that is not. They are not black or white, but there are more blacks who are not law-abiding.
If they cannot be law-abiding, then this will continue, or they are forced to seek refuge in places where they can be non law-abiding to their hearts content.
Remember then ewspaper mantra...”If it bleeds, it leads!”
I remember a racial confrontation years ago in which nothing happened. The newsmen on the site were trying to get “something” started, even just a clenched fist. The whites were not falling for it.
I remember years ago when the MSN “found” a county in Georgia with “NO BLACK PEOPLE!”
Almost all week they had some story from the county with “NO BLACK PEOPLE!”
Sure enough, within a few weeks there were black marches through the county, cries of “racism!” and the usual problems that the news media managed to stir up.
The left, including the media, require controversy and turmoil to further their end goal.
