…...Consumers, men in particular, must be made to feel worthless. They have to be reminded that their needs and desires are wrong under any circumstances, that their instincts are loathsome, that their very existence is a malignancy, and that they're responsible for all the world's ills whether they want to admit it or not. Now give them your money, you piece of garbage. But hey, maybe I was wrong. Maybe this was a good idea. How is it working out for Gillette? Douglas Ernst, Washington Times: Gillette’s infamous “toxic masculinity” ad may cost Procter & Gamble more than anyone imagined...

Bob Simon‘s driver had ‘dead’ arm, 9 license suspensions CBS newsman Bob Simon’s black-car driver was a rookie with nine license suspensions who is suspected of speeding during the fatal crash — and had just one hand on the wheel because he had a “dead” left arm from a suicide attempt, sources said Thursday. Investigators believe Abdul Reshad Fedahi, a 44-year-old Afghan immigrant who lives in a homeless shelter, mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake after sideswiping a car on the West Side Highway at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, law-enforcement sources said. “He hit the gas pedal instead...

Yet despite all signs to...

As the US president flew home from Copenhagen, his unsuccessful attempt to convince the International Olympic Committee to choose his adopted home city was widely seen as a blow to his credibility. Joined by his wife, Mr Obama gave an impassioned presentation – the first by a US president on behalf of a city bidding for the games – in which he hailed Chicago as "the most American of American cities".
