  • Wanted: Help in Contacting ProTELL Swiss Rights Organization

I am researching an article on suicide and guns in Switzerland, but I need some help obtaining numbers from about the reduction in Swiss militia in the 2004 drawdown, and how the numbers of guns in peoples homes may have been reduced. It would be very helpful to obtain some detailed suicide data as well, particularly for the militia. Unfortunately, I do not speak or write German, Italian, or French.  I am sure that there exists a ProTell member who could assist me, but I have not found any  way to contact them. An alternate possibility would be a...

ABC11 is running a poll to gauge whether people think armed, trained, teachers should be allowed to protect students.  They have framed the question as an all or nothing choice between all teachers being armed and none.   The people voting on the poll are not buying it, and are voting for armed teachers almost 2-1.Here is a link to the poll.  It is a down on the bottom of the article. The article is about a North Carolina father petitioning the local school to allow select and trained teachers to protect children. Wrenn’s proposal says “any administrator or teacher that...

Over this next weekend the city of Los Angeles, will be having more gun buybacks, for “illegal and unwanted guns.” The city handlers say it’s successful and necessary, yet there isn’t a peep about the failure of Proposition 47 in the CBS article, that has led to a major increase of violent crime and shootings in the city. It’s completely likely that gun buybacks, have no effect, being that there’s no actual deterrent to violence committed by criminals.

The man attempting the robbery appears to have a pistol gripped shotgun of unknown make.    In the video, it is clear that he hides the shotgun until he starts to attempt the robbery.   In the narrative, it is unclear exactly what happens next, whether the father pulls out a gun and tells the robber to leave after the daughter is threatened, or whether the father hands the gun to the 20 year old son,  or whether the son takes the gun from the father, and then shoots the robber.  It seems most likely that the father handed the handgun...

.22 rimfire is starting to become more available, as tremendous demand is being met.   From around the country I am hearing reports of more .22 rimfire being available, though supplies are still not sufficient to keep stores stocked. My friend Jerry needed to purchase some shotgun ammunition for dove hunting, as I was taking his son and friend out as beginning hunters.   We drove to Wal Mart.   Shotgun ammunition has never been in short supply.   Wal Mart was out of dove loads!  Shooting dove with duck loads or buck shot is not a good idea.   I should explain that...

  • Recall efforts against Colorado gun controllers move forward

On Tuesday, the Colorado secretary of state rejected a challenge to one state senator’s recall while the other senator filed a complaint in district court to stave off a vote that could see him become the first elected official kicked out of office in state history. Supporters of Sen. Angela Giron are a step behind those of Senate President John Morse, whose attempt to toss out signatures calling for his ouster was rejected last week. The lawyer representing one of Morse’s constituents argued that the petitions should be invalidated because they didn’t contain specific language calling for an election to...

On the Senate floor moments ago, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, reminded his colleagues that they still didn’t have the full text of the gun control bill they were about to vote on. Lee explained that the text of the background check compromise proposed by Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Wednesday had still not been revealed. “As of this morning, as of this very moment, not a single senator has been provided with the legislative text of that very provision.” Lee stated, reminding his colleagues that the provision was the “heart” of the bill.

Dem Congressman: ‘It’s Clear That We [Also] Need to Look at Handguns’ By Andrew Johnson February 10, 2013 4:41 P.M. On Friday night’s Rachel Maddow Show, Illinois representative Luis Gutiérrez told guest host Melissa Harris-Perry that the violence in his Chicago district could be cause for lawmakers to take action not only on semi-automatic weapons, but on handguns. Noting (correctly) that nearly 97 percent of Chicago gun murders in 2011, the most recent year for which statistic are available, were carried out with handguns, Gutiérrez said,”It’s clear that we need to...

Sales of firearms have been increasing nationwide, and Idaho is no exception. This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press reports that concealed carry classes have been booked solid in the north Idaho community, and one gun shop has seen a 30 percent jump in sales in the past several days. "I think the No. 1 reason (sales are up) is people are afraid they’re going to lose their ability to purchase firearms,” Ed Santos, owner of Center Target Sports in Post Falls, told the Press. "Look at cities that have gun control, like Chicago. Gun control doesn't work." Meanwhile, Coeur d'Alene Republican...

The lead detective in the George Zimmerman murder trial has hired famed lawyer Jose Baez to represent him as he maneuvers the next steps of the contentious, high-profile case, The Miami Herald has learned. Chris Serino, a former Sanford police major-crimes investigator, became a controversial figure when evidence revealed he had quietly filed an arrest affidavit a few weeks after the shooting death of Miami Gardens teenager Trayvon Martin, even as his chief publicly said there wasn’t enough evidence to make a case. A letter was sent last week by Baez to Dean Ringer Morton & Lawton, the law firm...

SANFORD, FL (RNN) - Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr. announced Monday he would resign permanently from the city's police force, but the city commission is having none of it. Lee said early Monday he would resign immediately and permanently, and the commission planned to discuss his severance package at 4 p.m. ET. However, the AP reported the commission voted 3-2 to reject Lee's resignation. The majority voting in favor of the rejection cited the very public uproar over George Zimmerman's shooting and killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, 17, as the reason for their vote. Lee resigned temporarily March...

PALMER — It takes a high-caliber weapon to turn heads at the annual Palmer Lions Club Gun Show, like Doug Albright’s Browning M2 .50-caliber machine gun. The Fairbanks resident had the fully functional weapon mounted on two-by-fours at his booth. Albright isn’t selling the gun, but said it’s a great conversation piece and a way to draw show-goers to his table to see what else he has to offer. “Oh, it works,” he said. “I’ve shot up old cars with it before, cast-iron boilers, they’re good, too.” It’s at Albright’s table, Anchorage resident Deryl Titus was found admiring the Browning....

It was Obama who required the bill have the language of U.S. Citizens being held without rights in the bill! The only reason he would veto it, is because it does not give him the absolute power as he wants!...Here is Senator Levin on the floor of the Senate revealing it was Obama himself who Demanded U.S. Citizens be part...
