For those of us who do not live in the memory hole that shields this administration from any accountability, here are some relevant facts about Acting Director Brandon and his involvement in the Fast and Furious cover-up. According to outgoing Director Jones's sworn testimony of April 2, 2014 before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Mr. Brandon was the person who determined disciplinary punishments for all of the ATF personnel involved in Fast and Furious. Brandon was "the ultimate decision maker." Director Jones confirmed that Thomas Brandon did not fire a single person for participation in Fast and Furious.
  • The Obama Administration’s Operation “Choke Point” now in the open

Coach Is Right ^ | March 24, 2015 | John Velisek USN (Ret)
Operation “Choke Point” is not new. It began as an outgrowth of the President’s Financial Fraud Task Force in 2009. Choke Point never acquired congressional authority to begin operations though it was started by the DOJ, FDIC, and the newly formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in 2009. It is called “Choke Point” because its main purpose is to choke off lending to industries which are out of favor with the Obama Administration. In essence, if businesses can’t process payments, they can’t survive. Choke Point operations were first begun against payday lenders in New York by the NY Financial Services...
  • NRA disputes report that questions if Scott Walker is 'pure' on gun rights

    Washington Examiner ^ | March 23, 2015 | Eddie Scarry
Bloomberg Politics is drawing fire from the National Rifle Association over a recent story claiming there is a potential rift between likely presidential candidate Scott Walker and the Second Amendment advocacy group. A recent Bloomberg Politics article floated the idea that Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a likely presidential candidate as well as a favorite of gun rights activists, may not be as "pure" as other White House GOP hopefuls, citing a 1995 bill that failed in the Badger State's legislature. The NRA also says Bloomberg's reporter failed to contact the group for comment. "Now that Walker is preparing to...
  • Bob Costas: Did Founders Want Us Buying ‘Cop-Killer, Armor Piercing Bullets?’

    Breitbart's Big Journalism ^ | March 21, 2015 | AWR Hawkins
On the March 20 episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, NBC Sportscaster Bob Costas laughed off criticism of his many pro-gun control comments and added to them by asking if people really believe the Founding Fathers wanted “private citizens… to purchase cop-killer, armor-piercing bullets” and an “AK-47″? Maher opened the door for Costas to do so by citing topics Costas has spoken on –“gay, guns, head injuries”– and suggesting Costas “has to” talk about these things because not other “sportscaster” or “broadcaster” is doing it. The focus then turned to Costas’ April 2014 suggestion that athletes can’t be trusted...

The myriad selection of rifle cartridges today has a metric ton of overlap, duplication, and some downright silly designs. Some of these designs boast wonderful claims, but not all of them measure up. In order to be overrated, you have to be rated at all, so that leaves some of the more obscure designs off the menu. I’m well aware that I’m going to be taking a lot of flak for this article, no matter which cartridges I were to pick, so let me give you some details to start with. When you sit down to make your voodoo doll...
  • Are school surveys about gun ownership legal in NY?

Is it legal in NY for a school to issue an "anonymous" survey to students asking about their family's gun ownership, access to firearms and other questions? This was given to my son today. I am furious about the intrusion, the manipulation of our children and the sliminess of how it was done. I am collecting information to formulate a response to the school. Anyone out there know if this kind of survey is even legal?

The Second Amendment case of the Radich family in the Northern Mariana Islands suffered an unexpected setback earlier this month.  A judge in the U.S. District Court dismissed the case.  From stripes.com: Earlier this month, a U.S. District Court judge dismissed the case because the Department of Public Safety commissioner does not have jurisdiction over importation of handguns into the Northern Marianas. The judge gave the Radiches the option to continue their suit by filing an amended complaint that includes the import ban and names the Customs Service as a defendant. The amended complaint is expected to be filed...

“Universal voting would counteract money more than anything,” makes as much sense as anything else Obama has said. The idea that people utilizing their freedom of association to pool resources in order to influence politics is somehow corruptive of the political process stems from the unspoken idea that the country is one big commons owned collectively by us all and the government's purpose is to decide how to fairly allocate the commons. In an actual free country there is no such problem. The country isn't one big socialized commons. But in a socialized country where the presumption is that everything...

A Navy veteran and his wife are challenging a ban on handguns in Saipan, arguing in federal court that the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands is bound by the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment. “I’ve always been a firm believer in our constitutional rights, whether that’s freedom of speech, religion or the right to keep and bear arms or right to privacy, and I’m pretty sure that what I’m doing in this case is in defense of those convictions,” said David J. Radich, 44, a former petty officer third class. His wife, Li-Rong Radich, was severely beaten by an intruder in...

If you ask a concealed handgun permit holder why they choose to carry a concealed weapon all of the time, they’ll sometimes dryly reply that it’s because criminals are rarely considerate enough to put their deadly crimes on the intended victim’s calendar. Such was the case in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania yesterday, when a man with a concealed carry permit heard gun shots as he passed by a barbershop, ran in, and stopped a massacre in the making by shooting a man who had opened fire on employees and customers

Lublin and Paul Ziobro March 22, 2015 7:38 p.m. ET A U.S. appeals court showdown looms next month for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in a case with potentially broad impact on how much influence investors can have over their companies. The dispute concerns Wal-Mart’s sales of assault rifles with high-capacity magazines. New York’s Trinity Wall Street church wants shareholders to vote on a resolution calling on Wal-Mart’s board to review management decisions to sell the weapons, as well as other products that...

Andrea Grimes, senior political reporter at the lefty women’s site RH Reality Check, sank to a disgusting new low Thursday by saying that guns should be confiscated only from white men. “Suggestion: we don’t have to vaporize all the guns. Let’s just vaporize white men’s guns,” Grimes tweeted, linking to an article about Arizona shooter Ryan Giroux. “White guys cannot be trusted to use guns responsibly. It is time to stop giving guns to white guys,” Grimes added. ”I mean, it’s time to stop giving guns to everybody, but we can start with the white guys.” Grimes then echoed a...

People dropped off dozens of unwanted guns at a buyback event Saturday in San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood, no questions asked. Organizers said it was more important to get guns off the street, as part of the city’s ongoing effort to curb violent crime. “The police, they can't do it alone. so we have to step up as a community and work with the police department to make sure we're doing to do everything we can to get guns off the street," San Francisco Board of Supervisors President London Breed said. Most people turning in guns received $100 cash. Assault...

The federal bureaucracy, in the form of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, recently announced a ban on ammunition used in AR-15 rifles, which are among the most common firearms in America, but then suddenly backed off. So breathe a sigh of relief and move on? Not if you like the Second Amendment, according to a National Rifle Association commentator. Colion Noir, a practicing attorney who graduated from the University of Houston, has been described by the Los Angeles Times as someone who doesn’t fit the stereotype of NRA members: “Old, fat, white guys.” “At 29, he’s not...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - It's just a few short weeks until an expected 70,000 visitors hit the streets of Nashville. Local officials say the National Rifle Association's Annual Meeting is putting Nashville on a whole new level, and it could mean big things for future big events.
