Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a gun control measure eliminating an exemption for certain semiautomatic pistols from California’s unsafe handgun law, Brown’s office announced Friday. On Saturday, 200 people marched through the Crenshaw district of Los Angeles protesting racial profiling and gun violence on the first anniversary of the verdict acquitting George Zimmerman of murdering Trayvon Martin. The crowd, led by Trayvon Martin’s parents, carried banners and chanted, “What do we want?... Justice. In this strange incident, little is said about why the intruder tried to force his way into the shooters home.   All that we know is that the homeowner drove into his garage, and the intruder drove a car behind the homeowner to prevent the garage door from closing.  A verbal altercation followed, then warning shots were fired, then the  intruder was shot. Ask yourself, “What would I expect to precipitate martial law in X city?” My list would start with riots, civil unrest, terrorist attack, and monetary collapse. Which are more dangerous for young children, five gallon buckets or guns?  Five gallon buckets result in a small number of fatal accidents for young children; about 27 a year.   The accidents are not tracked as rigorously as those with firearms are.  I found a study that tracked them for six years.  From a pediatrics study:   Analysis of Consumer Product Safety Commission data revealed 160 bucket-related drownings for the years 1984 through 1989, representing a mortality rate of 0.367 per 100 000 persons (younger than 2 years old) per year in the United States. A friend was telling me about an experience he had in the Phillipines, where CIA agents had quad stack magazines.   I told him that I had heard of them, but only remembered that the were of Scandinavian origin.   A little research revealed that they were for the Soumi K31 submachine gun, made in Finland.  Several other submachineguns were made that use the magazine.   A fair number of Swedish K  (M45) submachine guns can use them.   The Swiss M43/44 is a licensed copy of the Suomi, as is the Swedish/Danish M37/39 Here is an excellent YouTube video describing the magazine...
