Over a hundred people marched through downtown Newark, N.J., on June 24 demanding reparations for the African Holocaust. Called by the People’s Organization for Progress, the demonstration was greeted by people at bus stops with clenched fists. Speaking at a rally, Larry Hamm, chairperson of POP, quoted Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois in saying that at least 150 million people were stolen from Africa during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. World capitalism was built upon this colossal crime, along with the genocide committed against Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas. Hamm noted that New Jersey’s history was intertwined with slavery. The state...

Take a look at the ad below and ask whether the National Rifle Association can go any lower. Ponder this flagrant call for violence, this insidious advocacy of hate delivered with a sneer, this threat of civil war, this despicable use of propaganda to arouse rebellion against the rule of law and the ideals of democracy. On the surface this is a recruitment video for the National Rifle Association. But what you are really about to see is a call for white supremacy and armed insurrection, each word and image deliberately chosen to stir the feral instincts of troubled souls...

House Intelligence Committee threatens to subpoena (all) recordings, memos with, x FBI director. “We find The President's statement, and the White House letter, (in part) un-responsive.” Committee Leadership (Mike Conaway, and. Adam Schiff) subsequently issued a second letter to admonish; the committee will consider using compulsory action, or a subpoena, to make sure the White House responds "fully".

On Tuesday night, Seth Meyers sat down with The View host Joy Behar and while most of their interview was about President Trump, the conversation shifted a bit when discussing First Lady Melania Trump. The Late Night host asked Behar whether she has sympathy for Melania Trump or think we should judge her “like anybody with free will.” “I feel sorry for her,” Behar responded. “She had to sleep with him once. At least once, she did,” implying the only time was when their son Barron Trump was conceived. She continued on the subject of the President Trump and the...

US Ambassador Nikki Haley has called for international action to address the crisis in Venezuela, after a US-backed proposal for regional mediation failed to win support at the Organization of American States. (The US-backed proposal failed to overcome opposition from the 14 similar national jurisdictions that benefit from turmoil and discounted Venezuelan oil.) "The tragic situation in Venezuela calls out for action. The Venezuelan people are starving while their government tramples their democracy". //Snipp// The Judiciary has sold out and military command is wavering as the country, pummeled by the plunge in oil prices and the Hugo Chávez, legacy of...

A Hartford, Conn. sociology professor labeled white people "inhuman a**holes" and endorsed the idea that first responders should have let House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and others die on a Virginia baseball field because of their race, Campus Reform reported. Trinity College's Johnny Eric Williams posted the hashtag "LetThem[expletive]Die" below an emotional message on Facebook directed at white people. On his now-locked account he wrote, "It is past time for the racially oppressed to do what people who believe themselves to be 'white' will not do - put end to the vectors of their destructive mythology of whiteness and...

Democrats have so normalized hatred and violence against the president of the United States that I fear it will result in some crazy lefty trying to assassinate him. And it’s not just the president at whom their rage is directed. It's all Republicans and conservatives. They are no longer the opposition party. They are the reckless party, putting lives in danger. Look it’s one thing to disagree It's what America’s all about. But we are now in a danger zone of complete hatred and chaos unlike anything we've witnessed in American history. The normalization of calling for the assassination, decapitation...

We share a strength of mind and spirit that defies centuries of efforts to break us. So, I know: We are resilient. But today, I am angry and troubled and, I am wanting to lash out. • I am angry at a government that allows my people to be hunted and killed by rabid police officers. • I am troubled by the structure that allows two white men who killed prison guards to live, but deems it justifiable to kill a black child playing with a toy gun. • I lash out at a system that thinks it’s okay to...

CEOs receive $38 million to $70 million per year and more, plus benefits. (We don’t know, of course, what President Trump “earns.”) Then, these CEOs fire thousands of their employees. Companies are closing. People continue losing jobs. Others remain unemployed. Nearly one out of four children in the U.S. are homeless and/or hungry. This extreme wealth is truly obscene. How many cars, houses, boats and $50,000 coats do the 1 percent need to maintain their status and rip off everyone else, as Trump has? A mean-spirited Trump and Congress now propose a budget that would sharply reduce health care for...

President Donald Trump's relationship with the LGBT community is complicated. During last year's election Trump positioned himself as a pro-LGBT Republican. On the campaign trail Trump promised he'd be "better for the gays" than his 2016 election opponent Hillary Clinton. The president even made history by mentioning LGBT issues during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. But since Trump took office many voices in the community say their rights and livelihood have come under fire. "We are at war," Ken Kidd, an organizer with direct action group Rise and Resist, tells AOL.com. "We are under...

YOKOSUKA, KANAGAWA PREF. – The mother of a U.S. Navy sailor who survived. Brayden Harden, was knocked out of his bunk by the impact, water immediately began filling the berth. Sykes says her son told her that four men in his berth, including those sleeping on bunks above and below him, died, while three died in the berth above his. Her son kept diving to try to save his shipmates until the flooded berth began running out of air pockets, while others — believing the ship was under attack — hurried to man the guns. The ships collided about 2:20...

On 26 June, Donald Trump and Narendra Modi will meet in Washington. While the two have spoken at least three times since Trump’s election, this will be their first meeting. Many Hindu nationalists in India and the United States supported Donald Trump’s candidacy, at least in part, because they applauded his anti-Muslim campaign rhetoric and hoped that, if elected, he would adopt harsher policies towards Pakistan and other Muslim states supporting or exporting Islamist violence. For Hindu nationalists, Trump seemed like an obvious partner for Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has sustained criticism at home and abroad for...

The legendary star of musicals 'Evita', 'Sweeney Todd' and 'War Paint' plays to the cheap seats with a loud assessment of the president. Patti LuPone has been heard and understood. The Broadway legend has been venerated for her wall-rattling belt and criticized for her often-unintelligible diction. But there was no mistaking what she said on the Tony Awards red carpet Sunday, when didn't hold back about her feelings for President Trump. The Tony-winning star of "Sweeney Todd" and "Evita," who is currently appearing in "War Paint," was being interviewed by a TV reporter for “Variety.” He asked, "Why should President...
