I was driving by an elementary school the other day and I was shocked to find it covered in Aztec symbols. I actually made the effort to get out and snap some photos because when I was a boy, everything was red, white and blue, and we had pictures of George Washington. We even perfeormed the play "1776" while dressed in period patriot clothing. Oh dear.

NASA announced that water was discovered on the moon, and Al Gore has indicated that this shocking news shows that lunar warming is happening and could have devastating effects if we don’t take immediate drastic measures.“Things are worse than I thought,” said Gore. “There should only be frozen ice on the moon, not water. Now the moon has a fever too, and it’s because of too many mobile phone signals. My chart will prove that as mobile phone usage has increased, so has the lunar temperature and melting ice. We must find a way to reduce this damaging greenhouse...

New research into Jupiter's fourth largest moon has revealed that the orbiting body contains enough oxygen to support complex, Earth-like lifeforms. Though it has long been known that Europa has an oxygen-rich oceanic environment, this latest research indicates that the actual oxygen level found in the moon's copious bodies of water is up to 100 times greater than previously imagined. With oxygen being a key component for life as we know it, this discovery no doubt has scientists imagining adorable Spore-style critters swimming the frigid Europan waves, before running headlong into the cruel wall of reality. As PhysOrg explains, though...

Finding Critics for Science Allie Winegar Duzett, November 4, 2009 There are many fields with rigorous critics; many writers make a living critiquing music, dance, art, and literature. At Accuracy in Media and other media watchdog groups, employees critique the claims of major news organizations. But one crucial field regularly goes without any public criticism: the field of science, and scientific discovery. Science lacks for critics, David Berlinski claimed at a recent Heritage Foundation Bloggers Briefing. It is really remarkable that in the sense in which literature or dance or music has always entered public consciousness with a very rich...

Rethinking relativity: Is time out of joint? EVER since Arthur Eddington travelled to the island of Prncipe off Africa to measure starlight bending around the sun during a 1919 eclipse, evidence for Einsteins theory of general relativity has only become stronger. Could it now be that starlight from distant galaxies is illuminating cracks in the theorys foundation? .... Yet it is still not clear how well general relativity holds up over cosmic scales, at distances much larger than the span of single galaxies. Now the first, tentative hint of a deviation from general relativity has been found. While the evidence...

This week Earth will be passing through a debris field left behind by Halleys Comet, the Orionids. Bill Cooke of NASAs Meteoroid Environment Office says, Flakes of comet dust hitting the atmosphere should give us dozens of meteors per hour. Since 2006, Orionids have been one of the showers of the year, with counts of 60 or more meteors per hour.

NASAs recent rocket launch into the south pole of the moon to see if water was underneath the surface moon. This little fact finding mission has cost the American tax payers roughly 79 million dollars. A 79 million dollar search for the answers that Almighty Gods Word states for absolutely free. One of the key reasons for this extravaganza was for the search of water for supporting a colony on the moon. NASA and its followers believe if water can be found on the moon or on any planet, that they can prove that life can existed in other worlds....

Once weve demonstrated a 200-kilowatt prototype engine operating at full power on the ground, the next step is testing an identical version in space. Were already testing the prototype unit in our vacuum chamber here in Houston, and were designing the actual flight engine, which is called the VF-200. We signed an agreement with NASA last December to actually mount the VF-200 on the International Space Station in 2012 or 2013. > We would hope that, if not the US, maybe the Europeans, the Chinese, the Russians, or somebody else will develop a nuclear-electric power capability that we can marry...

There is a growing body of evidence now to support the theory that Western enviro-pillaging is leading to the flip-flop of the Earth's magnetic field. The acclaimed Indian science journal Jonwar Chodu recently published a controversial piece denouncing the Western World's mining of metal in 3rd world countries. But not for the normal reasons of hegemonic multinational imperialism - itself a good reason to stop all this horrible mining... No, this time it was for a reason far worse. You see, when you take metals from one part of the world, depleting them from whole regions almost entirely, and then...

I have information that supports my hypothesis that many of our human illnesses may have their origins in space. Case in point is the meteor and crater discovered in Peru. Many of the local people came down with a mysterious illness following exposure to the space debris and or crater. The W.H.O. investigated the incident after learning of a strange illness (w/out ANY protection LOL) . It is possible they have not identified the nature of the illness nor has there been any mention of it in medical journals but I suspect that if it is H1N1 they are keeping...

Lately I have been looking at the moon and wondering if it will someday kill me. If I live another 50 years (which is entirely possible) I assume I will eventually be a robot, having shed my old skin and bones body and uploaded a scanned and digitized version of my brain to a machine. My fellow robots and I will live among the meat people for eons until the moon's orbit degrades, either gradually or because a meteor gives it a nudge, and Earth is annihilated in the collision. You might say I worry too much. But I've successfully...

Remember a little thing called the space-time continuum? Well what if the time part of the equation was literally running out? New evidence is suggesting that time is slowly disappearing from our universe, and will one day vanish completely. This radical new theory may explain a cosmological mystery that has baffled scientists for years. Scientists previously have measured the light from distant exploding stars to show that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate. They assumed that these supernovae are spreading apart faster as the universe ages. Physicists also assumed that a kind of anti-gravitational force must be driving...

Video game developer John Carmack, better known for his work on Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein, has qualified for a million dollar prize from NASA. America's space agency challenged the nation's brightest minds to come up with a design contest known as the Lunar Lander Challenge. Carmack's team, known as Armadillo Aerospace, won $350,000 after taking first prize last year in NASA's Level 1 competition. Now they are aiming for Level 2 and the million dollar prize. As MSNBC.com describes it: "The alcohol-fueled, pressure-tank-equipped rocket has to hang in the air for a minimum of 3 minutes during each leg of...

As America prepares to embark upon a new era of human space exploration, President Obama has commissioned a review of the nations human space flight plans. Known as the Augustine Committee, this panel has the important charter of evaluating the current NASA plan... Exploration must be recognized as a national imperative that sustains U.S. leadership in space; a significant increase in human space-flight safety should be accomplished under government leadership; we must leave low Earth orbit and explore destinations beyond; and sustaining robust funding and staying the course are imperative... ...Members of the committee presented their preliminary findings to NASA...

As a world exclusive, this blog alone can tell you what is exactly on Barack Obama's birth certificate, because Barack Obama recorded exactly what was on his birth certificate. I will not go into if it was Kenyan, British Columbian or if it was Hawaiian as that is not the point of this investigation. What is the point is we know from Barack Obama hisself, exactly what his birth certificate looked like. I can tell you that he was so troubled by it, that he his first thought was it caused a fight between Stanley Ann and Barack sr. First...

Hitlers gift to astronomy? What? Believe it or not, Hitler wanted to give Mussolini and Rome a planetarium*. Rome was among the first in the world to build a planetarium. Italy (and Mussolini) had already taken a planetarium as part of the 'compensation' for the damage Germany did to Italy in WW1 and opened the first Roman planetarium already in 1928. It is the most peculiar story, so much so that I feel compelled to tell, however little, that I know about this hidden treasure of planetarium history...

Writing for Little Green Footballs, Charles Johnson reports that so-called birthers have now dug up a document they say proves President Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii. Today we get a ludicrous effort by head Nirther Orly Taitz to foist off an obviously fake Kenyan birth certificate with Barack Obamas name on it: Is this really it? (re: possible Obamas Kenyan B.C. - Attny Taitz). These people are getting desperate. World Net Daily is also salivating over this. The posts were published shortly after Republican Congressman Eric Cantor blamed liberal media and bloggers for hyping the birtherism movement. Although...

This week, we all saw images on television screens of the solar eclipse that occurred on Wednesday. This was the longest eclipse the earth will see until 2136, which will likely be beyond most of our own lifetimes unless my Fish Oil and CoQ10 work as I hope (!!!). I digress. When looking at the images at the NASA webpage, some are amazing, especially the one below. Hinode is an international mission to study our nearest star, the sun. To accomplish this, the Hinode mission includes a suite of three science instruments the Solar Optical Telescope, X-ray Telescope and...

Forty years ago today we celebrated a miracle, two men walked on the moon. For those of us who grew up before twitter, and facebook, the US space program was simply the coolest thing in the world. I joined all of my friends in wanting to be Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldren, no one wanted to be Michael Cooper because he stayed in space. I didn't collect baseball cards when I was growing up, it was a pile of brochures from NASA that collected in my room, which I read over and over while sipping a glass of TANG. I...

rom Richard Dawkins God Delusion to Bill Mahers Religulous, the media is filled with half-truths and whole lies about what it means to be a believer in God, and more often than not, Christian. Dawkins argues that there is contradictory evidence to the existence of God while Maher pokes fun at the members of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, while simultaneously asking the usual theological questions. For example: Do you think that, if when you were a kid, they transposed the Bible stories with fairy tales, that you would know the difference as an adult? Yes Mr. Maher, I would. It...

Some pesky scientists have just pointed out an appalling design error in NASAs latest attempts to find life on Mars. This is beginning to look like a conspiracy. Does someone not want us to find life on Mars? NASA has tried looking for signs of life on Mars precisely once, in the 1976 Viking mission. The result was positive. The reason nobody says there is life on Mars is that another experiment, part of the same mission, couldnt find any carbon-based organic chemicals in Martian soil. This, NASA decided, overruled the other result: with no carbon present, there could be...

In a "blank" patch of sky, the Hubble Telescope acquires imagery of 10,000 galaxies. This image provides a fantastic progression from our small corner of the universe, Earth, out to the limitless expanses of the outer reaches of what we are able to observe. Humbling. Enjoy!

Doom and gloom types always want to lament that the presence of people is killing the Earth. Not so, say California Institute of Technology (Caltech) scientists. At least on a cosmic scale, the presence of life may increase longevity for planets. In traditional thinking, a billion years from now the ever-increasing radiation from the sun will have heated Earth into inhabitability, causing the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that serves as food for plant to disappear. The oceans will evaporate and all living things will disappear. Maybe not quite so soon, say researchers from Caltech, who have come up with...

Re-Analysis of the Marinov Light-Speed Anisotropy Experiment Reginald T. Cahill School of Chemistry, Physics and Earth Sciences, Flinders University, Adelaide 5001, Australia E-mail: Reg.Cahill@flinders.edu.au The anisotropy of the speed of light at 1 part in 10^3 has been detected by Michelson and Morley (1887), Miller (1925/26), Illingworth (1927), Joos (1930), Jaseja et al. (1964), Torr and Kolen (1984), DeWitte (1991) and Cahill (2006) using a variety of experimental techniques, from gas-mode Michelson interferometers (with the relativistic theory for these only determined in 2002) to one-way RF coaxial cable propagation timing. All agree on the speed, right ascension and declination of...

The Suppression of Inconvenient Facts in Physics "Textbooks present science as a noble search for truth, in which progress depends on questioning established ideas. But for many scientists, this is a cruel myth. They know from bitter experience that disagreeing with the dominant view is dangerous - especially when that view is backed by powerful interest groups. Call it suppression of intellectual dissent. The usual pattern is that someone does research or speaks out in a way that threatens a powerful interest group, typically a government, industry or professional body. As a result, representatives of that group attack the...

M31: The Andromeda Galaxy Credit & Copyright: Robert Gendler (robgendlerastropics.com) Explanation: Andromeda is the nearest major galaxy to our own Milky Way Galaxy. Our Galaxy is thought to look much like Andromeda. Together these two galaxies dominate the Local Group of galaxies. The diffuse light from Andromeda is caused by the hundreds of billions of stars that compose it. The several distinct stars that surround Andromeda's image are actually stars in our Galaxy that are well in front of the background object. Andromeda is frequently referred to as M31 since it is the 31st object on Messier's list of...

The Trifid Nebula. A 'stellar nursery', 9,000 light years from here, it is where new stars are being born. The glowering eyes from 114 million light years away are the swirling cores of two merging galaxies called NGC 2207 and IC 2163 in the distant Canis Major constellation. Starry Night, so named because it reminded astronomers of the Van Gogh painting. It is a halo of light around a star in the Milky Way.

Tiny and dying but still-powerful stars called pulsars spin like crazy and light up their surroundings, often with ghostly glows. So it is with PSR B1509-58, which long ago collapsed into a sphere just 12 miles in diameter after running out of fuel. And what a strange scene this one has created. In a new image from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, high-energy X-rays emanating from the nebula around PSR B1509-58 have been colored blue to reveal a structure resembling a hand reaching for some eternal red cosmic light. The star now spins around at the dizzying pace of seven times...

G-Man just said that an "Anonymous" - I suppose a high ranking one - will be joining Gordon on his show at noon to discuss the recent admission by a Scientology spokesman that there is, indeed, a "Xenu," and that he is a core tenet of upper-Thetan Scientology. I am no sciento-theologan but I think it may be worth a listen. Also, I very much enjoyed clicking "Astronomy" and "Religion" as topics. Thank you very much, be sure to tip your waitress. (video) Were not conspiracy theory wackos. We absolutely believe American astronauts walked on the moon. Twelve of them on six different missions. They loped around, smacked golf balls, drove that little dune buggy, all that stuff. But take a look at this video. It really makes you wonder if the entire Chinese space walk was phony. We hate the American media. Theyve proven theyre untrustworthy. But whats this world coming to when you cant trust the Chinese media? Watch the video.

Recent astronomy news. There are 3 trillion stars in the Milky Way. The Milky way is about 8 times bigger than was thought. We still have a shaky understanding of our own galaxy as refined measurements of star speed in the arms indicates that the volume is about 8 times more than was previously believed.

Sample Chapter from Nostradamus Code Book interpreting the quatrains. Elite group controls global economy; worldwide depression planned (Century VI, Quatrain 41) The Elite families made their influence and fortunes in the banking and commodities industries, such as gold, oil, copper, tins, etc. This is much like the colonial barons associated with the European world empires who started their families' fortunes exploiting the materials of the Third World nations. The Elite manipulate the economy to cause the unemployment or inflation rates to rise or fall at their whim. They have affected everyone's life. They are "pulling the strings" behind the scenes...

Boy this ought to set the Liberals who voted for Obama off. Apparently there is serious talk coming from the Obama camp of merging NASA's civilian space program with the pentagon's military space program. No doubt the folks at NASA are in a tizzy over this proposal. Many of them are the ivory-towered elitist academic types who see patriotism and politics (except for Global Warming) as being beneath them. Bringing the military into the picture will greatly offend the sensibilities. Of course I'm sure that the hard-headed military pragmatists are just as thrilled at the prospect of dealing with some...

According to the Bible, when Jesus was born three Magi saw a star in the East that signaled the birth of a new king. But just what was it, from an astronomical point or view, that the Magi actually saw? Fred Grosse, a professor of physics and astronomy at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., says there are several popular theories that may answer this question.

Some years ago, the evolutionist and atheist Richard Dawkins pointed out to me that Sir Isaac Newton, the founder of modern physics and mathematics, and arguably the greatest scientist of all time, was born on Christmas Day, and that therefore Newtons Birthday could be an alternative, if somewhat nerdy, excuse for a winter holiday. Think of the merchandise! Newton is said to have discovered the phenomenon of gravity by watching apples fall in an orchard. (His insight came after pondering why they always fall down, rather than upwards or sideways.) Newtons Birthday cards could feature the great man discovering gravity...

HOROSCOPE or HORRORSCOPE? Scorpio (October 23 to November 21): You are a free spirit, longing for change. A tall, dark and mysterious stranger is about to reorder your life. Cast your ballot to leave behind those bitter clingers in rural areas. Don't get caught obsessing over returns on your investments. Seize the chance for free health care; don't let misgivings about how it will be paid for, cause you to miss out. Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): There will be many who seek the safety of isolation, in the months to come. Take care not to fall victim to...

Six months ago, satellite telescopes spotted an exceptionally bright burst of energy that would have been the most distant object in the universe ever visible to the naked eye, if anyone had noticed it. Even though no humans have reported seeing it directly, the gamma-ray burst, an explosion that signals the violent death of a massive star, is changing theories of how these events look. Gamma-ray bursts are typically accompanied by intense releases of other forms of radiation, from X-rays to visible light. This burst, dubbed GRB 080319B, was first detected by the Swift satellite on March 19, while the...

~~~snip~~~ Electromagnetic waves are far too slow to be the only means of signalling in an immense universe. Gravity requires the near-instantaneous character of the electric force to form stable systems like our solar system and spiral galaxies. Gravitationally, the Earth sees the Sun where it is this instant, not where it was more than 8 minutes ago. Newtons famous law of gravity does not refer to time. We must have a workable concept of the structure of matter that satisfies the observation that the inertial and gravitational masses of an object are equivalent. When we accelerate electrons or protons...
