HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—Shots were fired Tuesday during an attempted armored car robbery outside a Chase bank west of Spring, deputies said. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it was reported around 9:30 a.m. on Kuykendahl Road at Louetta Road. Deputies said an armored car guard was approached by one of two armed masked suspects as he was walking into the bank. The suspect ordered the guard to get on the ground. Two men police say were involved in a botched armored truck robbery Friday on Chicago's West Side had previously committed similar robberies together nearly 22 years ago, according to records. The most recent incident, which happened in front of a Family Dollar store in the 3400 block of West Chicago Avenue, left one man dead and another wounded, both shot by security guards whom the men allegedly held up with a handgun and a fake shotgun, authorities said.
