By hiding from Congress, and from the American people, documented political bias by a key FBI head investigator for both the Russia collusion probe and the Clinton email investigation, the FBI and DOJ engaged in a willful attempt to thwart Congress’ constitutional oversight responsibility,” Nunes said in a statement Saturday afternoon. “This is part of a months-long pattern by the DOJ and FBI of stonewalling and obstructing this committee’s oversight work, particularly oversight of their use of the Steele dossier. At this point, these agencies should be investigating themselves.

WASHINGTON — The former top FBI official assigned to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election was taken off that job this summer after his bosses discovered he and another member of Mueller's team had exchanged politically charged texts disparaging President Donald Trump and supportive of Hillary Clinton, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. Peter Strzok, as deputy head of counter-intelligence at the FBI, was a key player in the investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server to do government work as Secretary of State, as well as the probe into...

GOP strategist Mike Murphy appeared on Meet The Press today to discuss the current state of Donald Trump's presidency and the issue of trust. The self-described "infuriated," "TV blabbermouth" slammed President Trump for fomenting "chaos." The panel breaks down whether distrust is becoming the norm in the Trump era - "We are living through the first screwball presidency in American history," @murphymike says on #MTP“We’re living through the first screwball presidency in American history, where there’s careening from one side to another, you don’t really know who is in charge, the internal politics are crazy," said Murphy. Senate panel building obstruction of justice case against Trump over Comey firing, Feinstein says The Senate’s investigation into Russian election meddling is crafting a possible obstruction of justice case against President Trump, the panel’s top Democrat said Sunday. The case has become clearer after Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI on Friday, said Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The panel “has an investigation going as well and it involves obstruction of justice and I think what we're beginning to see is the putting together of a case of obstruction of justice,” she...

Because finally, finally this country has elected someone not of, by, and for the swamp, someone who owes them nothing and does not fear them: Donald J. Trump. I freaking love Donald Trump. The reason the swamp hates him, of course, is manifold. He is proven to be a potent crusher of political correctness and polite society, the way things are supposed to be said, i.e. not on Twitter, and a crusher of that elite vanguard also known as the swamp. He came in and he promised to smash their corrupt existing order, to overturn the money changers' tables. Right?...

Steve Schmidt has finally found his natural home: Joy Reid’s MSNBC show. Appearing there this morning, Schmidt first described President Trump as someone who “degrades his office, who divides the American people.” Schmidt then said: “I think there is one question on the ballot in November of 2018. And it’s: do you want to put a check on President Donald Trump? And I think the answer to that question, in the overwhelming majority of the American people is ‘yes.'” Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

A federal judge has granted two attorneys general permission to subpoena 23 Trump businesses to require them to preserve documents potentially related to an emoluments case. The two-page order by U.S. District Judge Peter Messittee grants the request by Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh and District of Columbia Attorney Karl Racine for permission to serve the subpoenas related to their lawsuit. Their lawsuit, filed in June, alleges that President Trump’s wide-ranging businesses with foreign and domestic governments violate the Foreign and Domestic Emoluments Clauses. Trump has motioned to dismiss the lawsuit, and oral arguments are scheduled for Jan. 25, 2018.

Michael Hayden, the former director of the CIA and the NSA, has stepped up his criticism of President Trump. According to the former intelligence chief, Trump's attacks on the free media are downright dangerous: [TWEET BY THE GENERAL] The general's tweets were a response to a tweet by former CIA Deputy Director John McLaughlin, who called "the new normal" created by Trump "scary": [TWEET BY MCLAUGHLIN] These tweets by the former spymasters were inspired by an angry Trump tweet in which the president blasted CNN for spreading "fake news" and argued that it's a major problem for the United States...

The question—framed in uppercase urgency on Bill Kristol’s Twitter feed—is redolent of the sheer, shrieking panic of the teenage girl in the 1982 horror movie Poltergeist as she witnesses her home being invaded by demonic spirits. The 64-year-old Kristol—longtime Republican theorist and operative, founding editor of The Weekly Standard, son of neoconservative icon Irving Kristol, frequent television pundit, and sworn enemy of all things Trump—added in his tweet on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving: “The GOP tax bill’s bringing out my inner socialist. The sex scandals are bringing out my inner feminist. Donald Trump and Roy Moore are bringing out my...

The American suburbs appear to be in revolt against President Trump after a muscular coalition of college-educated voters and racial and ethnic minorities on Tuesday dealt the Republican Party a thumping rejection and propelled a diverse class of Democrats into office. From the tax-obsessed suburbs of New York City to high-tech neighborhoods outside Seattle to the sprawling, polyglot developments of Fairfax and Prince William County, Va., voters shunned Republicans up and down the ballot in off-year elections. Leaders in both parties said the elections amounted to an earsplitting alarm bell for Republicans ahead of the 2018 elections, when the party’s...

The Revolutionary Communist Party is openly admitting that it is behind the major anti-Trump movements happening across the USA. This has been suspected by many of us, but in reality, they are being completely open about it. Why is it that the media refuse to cover this? And how is it that so many people who would otherwise be aghast at dealing with such people dragged into it without a whimper? Revcom.us, who call themselves the “Voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA” are a group who have a Central Committee, a campaign arm, a manifesto, and even a constitution...

On Monday night, in the cradle of liberty, those disputes disappeared as Biden presented the Liberty Medal to McCain at the National Constitution Center, a nonprofit organization that touts bipartisanship and sits across the street from Independence Hall. Another reality has also brought them together: President Trump, whose global outlook has helped crystallize just how closely aligned these two elder statesmen really are. “We believed in our country, and in our country’s indispensability to international peace and stability and to the progress of humanity,” McCain said, growing unusually emotional at times during the address.

Not much is happening in Washington these days. Just more of the same as President Trump continues to change or scrap the policies of the previous president and the media responds by insisting each time that the sky is falling. It’s nine months into the administration, and there is no rest for the hair-on-fire coverage. Whether it’s Trump’s move to make changes to NAFTA, decertify the Iran deal, eliminate some ObamaCare rules or cut taxes, each is greeted with a collective howl of outrage. Every report is a parade of horrors that celebrates critics as truth-telling prophets. All the code...
