Sure, Republicans are playing to their base by calling for mass deportations. The years-long campaign to convince a segment of Americans that undocumented immigrants are the biggest threat to the country has had its intended effect. Witness the spectacular GOP victory in the midterms, where about one-third of the electorate voted and Republicans won a majority to sweep Congress and statehouses across the country. So no surprise that almost four months into the Republican takeover of Congress, more time has been spent on immigration -- specifically, trying to reverse President Obama's executive actions shielding 5 million immigrants from deportation --...

Border Patrol agents gave eye-opening testimony on Capitol Hill last week, saying that they “face retribution” for reporting large groups of illegal immigrants. “Management will either take them out of the field and assign them to processing detainees at the station or assign them to a fixed position in low volume areas as a punishment,” border agent Chris Cabrera said before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday. These revelations come as the Department of Homeland Security confirms that it released more than 30,000 illegal aliens onto U.S. streets last year. …

Illegal immigration awakens gut reactions, and voters should despise any pandering to illegal aliens out of fear of losing elections or appearing racist or uncaring. With all of the talk about the DREAMers and Deferred Actions, when will our leaders care about Americans born and naturalized, and the American Dreams that they pursue and want to see come true? Surely the needs of 310 million legal residents outstrip the 11 million in the shadows. In 2008, I supported outlier candidate Congressman Tom Tancredo for President, even though he had a gringo’s chance in Guadalajara of winning the GOP nomination. (SNIP)...

I think opponents of Jeb Bush should work out some figure they can throw around that is realistic. From July 2016 - January 2017 maybe 100000, 200000, 500000 or maybe 1 million illegals will cross the border if Jeb wins the nomination. Maybe only 50,000. Probably a worse message than Clinton winning the general, because it is already established the Dem candidate will be open borders and that there is no opposition anywhere to it.

First, in an exchange with TechCrunch founder Michael...

Glenn Beck says he is no longer a member of the Republican Party. “I’ve made my decision — I’m out," Beck said on his radio show Wednesday, according to Mediaite.com. "I’m out of the Republican Party. I am not a Republican; I will not give a dime to the Republican Party. I’m out.” The former Fox News host and founder of the Blaze supported the GOP during the last election cycle but has become disillusioned with the party in recent years over what he believes was its failure to stand up to the Obama administration — specifically, the Affordable Care...

A federal judge sharply scolded a Justice Department attorney at a hearing on President Obama's immigration executive actions, suggesting that the administration misled him on a key part of the program and that he fell for it, "like an idiot." The testy court hearing was held Thursday in Texas by U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen. The judge suggested he could order sanctions against the administration if he finds they indeed misrepresented the facts. snip A flustered Hartnett repeatedly apologized to Hanen for any confusion related to how the reprieves and work permits were granted. A federal judge threatened Thursday to sanction the Justice Department if he finds that government lawyers misled him about the rollout of President Obama’s plan to shield up to 5 million people from deportation. U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen, visibly annoyed, confronted a U.S. deputy assistant attorney general over previous government assurances on the timing of the program. He asked why he shouldn’t grant a discovery request for internal federal immigration documents — a request filed Thursday by 26 states that are suing over Obama’s executive actions on immigration. Hanen ordered a freeze on the Obama plan on Feb....

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — The U.S. Government lied to a federal judge, misrepresented facts and illegally gave 100,081 illegal aliens immigration status despite a pending lawsuit and an injunction. That is the argument that attorneys representing Texas and more than two dozen other states made. During the heated court hearing Andrew Hanen, a U.S. District Court Judge, said that the apparent violation had made him look like an idiot since he initially believed the U.S. Government. In a heated court hearing Angela Colmonero from the Texas Attorney General’s office stated that Texas had acted promptly in November 2014 upon learning of...

Mickey Kaus resigned from The Daily Caller after its editor, Tucker Carlson, pulled down a column he wrote critical of Fox News. Who is Mickey Kaus? He is a liberal, who has written for Newsweek, The Washington Monthly, and used to blog at Salon under the title "Kausfiles." In 2004, he expressed dissatisfaction with John Kerry, but still endorsed him and contributed to his campaign. Amazingly, despite being a graduate of Harvard and Harvard Law School, he seems to have avoided having every molecule of common sense wrung out of him, as evidenced by the reporting he has done on...
