NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Air travel is tough enough without having to worry about bad behavior from fellow passengers. Al Franken’s ‘New York City Problem’ In national politics, having New York City in your past can be just as bad as having a closetful of dead tranny hookers. That's what some people think, anyway. Today's Sun declares that Al Franken, who is having some problems with his senatorial campaign in Minnesota, is "doomed by his own New York past." The former SNL writer and Air America host has been taking some heat over in the heartland for neglecting to pay some taxes and benefits to his employees as well as for some raunchy jokes he's made in the past,...

As Byron York notes in his explosive column , opponents of voter ID laws like to argue its a solution in search of a problem. But when 1100 felons vote in a tight election and the result was decided by just 312 votes, maybe there really is a problem with voter fraud. And that's just what happened in Minnesota in 2008, when Democrat Al Franken beat Republican Norm Coleman by 312 votes, giving a filibuster-proof majority to the Democrats so they could end up passing Obamacare. The Minnesota Senate result was contested by Franken and an army of lawyers who...

You’ve probably never heard of Greene County, Alabama. Yet this small county of 9,000 people in western Alabama, about an hour from Tuscaloosa, was home to one of the biggest voter-fraud scandals in recent history. Corrupt incumbents devised an elaborate scheme to rig the election using absentee ballots. When they prevailed on Election Day, skeptical citizens began asking questions. A subsequent investigation and trial led to the convictions of 11 people involved in the plot. It’s just one example cited by John Fund and Hans von Spakovsky in their new book, “Who’s Counting? How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote...

Hello FReepers, I am looking for links or articles involving the elections for Al Franken and Dino Rossi and the allegations of voter fraud. I am sure that I remember reading that in at least one county in MN, there were more ballots cast than were registered voters. Dino Rossi also lost an election to Christine Gregoire under similar circumstances. Any other voter fraud articles that would support the need for showing ID to vote would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This year, COICA has been replaced by the PROTECT IP Act, which fixes some of the problems of COICA, but introduces significant other problems as well. A wide cross section of people who actually understand technology and innovation have come out against PROTECT IP as written...

Minnesota Senator Al Franken has called out Apple after reports emerged that the company's products were keeping detailed records of the location data of their users. In a two-page letter sent to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, Franken discusses what he calls the "worrisome" existence of data that presents the user's location in such detail. But the biggest risk, he says, is what can happen if that data, much of which is unencrypted, falls into the wrong hands. "Anyone who gains access to this single file could likely determine the location of a user's home, the business he frequents, the doctors...
