From the Corvallis Gazette-Times:Members of the Tea Party and those who share their concerns are invited to a rally from 11a.m. to 1p.m. Saturday (April 12, 2014) in front of the Benton County Courthouse on fourth Street in Corvallis.Organizers said the rally will address such issues as the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, the Internal Revenue Service's scrutiny of the tax status of conservative groups and the activities of the National Security Agency. They said the Tea Party favors tax reform, energy independence, lowering the national debt, a reduced federal government, a balanced federal budget and fewer regulations on...

Coos County Watchdog just stopped Oregon from turning several thousand acres of the Coquille River estuary in Southern Oregon, traditionally open to hunting and fishing, into protected wetlands. This is an effective group of Oregon conservative activists operating across a range of issues by keeping their readers updated on the time and place of important civic administrative meetings. Core groups of local activists such as this are essential to a rollback of liberal social engineering diktats.

These days there aren't too many big pro-family victories to celebrate. But Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Boston was one of them! It went wonderfully. The organizers stood up to the politicians and the rabid media who tried relentlessly to force them to include overt homosexual activist groups in their traditional Catholic, pro-family parade. And in the end many others stood with them. Labor unions, small businesses, several politicians, and an almost endless procession of military, religious, school, and other groups proudly marched before huge, cheering crowds.

A group of 28 U.S. attorneys general is urging chief executive officers of five major retailers, including Walmart, to stop selling tobacco products, saying it is contradictory to carry such items in stores that also provide health care services. The companies receiving a letter on Sunday from the group were Wal-Mart Stores Inc, supermarket operators Kroger Co, Safeway Inc, which operate pharmacies, and drugstore chains Walgreen Co and Rite Aid Corp. …

The revolutionary guerilla network, the Sons of Liberty, was a grassroots reaction to unjust taxation. It got off to a roaring start in 1765 by burning the Boston commissioner of stamps in effigy, and burning his home and offices to the ground. These first Tea Partiers invented American gonzo. Some smeared with paint and sporting feathers, in December of 1773 they dumped the equivalent of $1,000,000 worth of tea into Boston Harbor to protest the British Tea Act. But because the ships were owned by Americans, they were not damaged, and the decks were swept clean when the festivities ended....

Proponents of the rule of law and advocates of American exceptionalism have complied a list of 80 Members of Congress who have not committed to oppose amnesty. The only way to get them to oppose amnesty or "legal status" for illegal aliens is to contact them and demand they back the rule of law and oppose the so-called immigration "reform" principles floated at the recent Republican retreat. To assist you in this effort, you can sign our letter to Congress or copy the letter and click the link to your Representative's "contact me" page (see the list below) to paste it...

This 7 minute video should be an inspiration to all and a reminder of just how important this year's elections are.

Witnessing thousands of South Africans of all races vote in the first free elections after the fall of apartheid was a “great, life-changing experience” for Bishop John Ricard. “It was a very exhilarating experience to see old enemies finally reconciling and to actually see the birth of a country,” remembered Bishop Ricard, a former auxiliary bishop of Baltimore from 1984 to 1997 who served as an official electoral observer in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, during the April 26-29, 1994, election. “We saw people who had never voted in their life – old people and young people,” Bishop Ricard said. “It...

So think of this as part two of the culture panel from...

If you really want to have an impact on something you stand a much better chance if you're prepared. The same goes for party activism. I've written quite a bit about the importance of getting involved in a political party, and about how parties are organized. But how do you go about trying to be effective over the long haul? What should you do? What should you focus on, and why? The Boy Scout motto "Be prepared" comes to mind in the sense of being prepared ahead of time for the situations they may face. It's a good application for...

Turkey Day Talking Points-FReepers Unite Hey all you keyboard activists! You blog, bump, reply and post. You wordsmith, criticize, edify and GIF. You are overeducated and under-motivated, but now, you can make a bigger difference. It's time for you to do your part on this Thanksgiving Holiday. You know all those LIV's (low information voters) and cherished independents you will see this long weekend. Well, they need a dose of reality to wash down the stuffing and mashed potatoes. Forget the lectures, the name dropping, the quotes, the diatribes and the references to obscure texts and authors. Keep it simple...

In the present article, I draw your attention to a couple of publications in the late 1980s that have provided a blueprint for the homosexual movement to the present day, a plan of action for a massive and unrelenting propaganda campaign to win over the hearts and minds of the heterosexual majority. The success of the homosexual movement depends absolutely on the successful execution of this plan, because the entire gay-lesbian population is only about 1.5% of the general population and could not possibly wield much power and influence by itself. If you have been paying any attention at all...

I have been involved in editing the article on Death Panels on Wikipedia. For those who are interested in Obamacare the original claim by Sarah Palin that Obamacare would include panels that would limit treatment to achieve cost savings and might be expected to result in people not getting treatment they need, particularly older or disabled people, seems like yet another obvious fact that the left cannot accept. No where is this more clear than in the Wikipedia article on Death Panels which, in violation of Wikipedia rules is essentially a long diatribe against Gov. Palin. I am requesting a...

There are, generally speaking, two kinds of sin. There are sins of commission and there are sins of omission. From my perspective – and I think it's the biblical perspective – we Christians commit a sin of omission if we remain passive as our culture becomes "given over to a reprobate mind." When we seek to be loved by the world – when we follow the Princeton model and take the wide path to "mainstream" acceptance – we abdicate our duty to "fight the good fight." Indeed, we are in a spiritual war for our culture. It is a war...

I just watched "Last Ounce of Courage" on Netflix...wow..absolutely beautiful! That's what I am waiting for from us - to wake up and fight. And they won because here is NO law that can stop us to fight for what we believe in - just intimidation. But for some reason intimidation works. We are letting it happen! If we could make sure as many American as possible watch that movie, may be, just may be we would wake up more of us and may be, just may be we could win back all those freedom that we lost and are...

Dear Readers. I received a survey request (filled in below) from the Media Research Center (MRC). Initially I was expecting just another multiple choice form that misses many of the key issues of the day. Much to my delight, this one actually had, in addition to MRC's preferred topics, "other" as choices. And what was even more special, MRC provided a space in which to spell out the other choice(s). Burned out naif that I am, I have my doubts they will actually read what I put in the boxes. I know, many of you think I must be crazy...

Do you know how to spell frustration with three letters? It's done G-O-P. It's peanut harvest time now in South Georgia, and due to equipment failure today I'm not on the tractor, so I'm outstanding in my field. Beck was on the radio today with his "defund the GOP" campaign going full blast and I guess he will stay on that position until he sells all the tee shirts he has printed. Tried to call all morning with a better strategy whenever I didn't have a wrench in my hand, but like the GOP establishment, they have no time to listen...

My involvement with Free Republic began around 2000 when my wife began her vigil around the Texas governor’s mansion in support of GW against the challenge of Al Gore for the presidency. I generally provided the livelihood for the Bat Lady to be able to protest and surround the mansion against the leftists who were kept at bay across the street. While she was registered in order to post after action reports I was a lurker on the site. Over the years we have attended rallies and protests and meetings. Other groups of freepers nationwide also held rallies, attended protests,...
