Bristol Palin is about to make her debut on the small screen on ABC Family Television’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager. ABC announced Tuesday Bristol will play herself on the ABC Family show. According to the network, Bristol will play a friend of the show’s main character, Amy. The show has recently focused on how Amy reacts to an unexpected pregnancy. “I am thrilled to be on this show and to be part of a program that educates teens and young adults about the consequences of teen pregnancy,” Bristol said in a statement provided by ABC.

Watching "ABC Family" earlier today with the kids. The show was about cheerleaders and there was this exchange between 2 teen boys: Boy 1: "Did you get some ass? Boy 2: "Ass?" Boy 1: "You know, like in a porn movie. Did you get some ass?"

Just an interesting note. This concerns (of all things) something from offline, which I why I just listed FR as the weblink... Last night I was watching TV with my family, and I noticed that they had on ABC Family. (We think that the name of the cable channel is a misnomer, given the majority of their programming--kind of in the same way Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher was a misnomer.) We endured a commercial for an upcoming movie about a best man who falls in love with the woman who is the bride at that wedding. (I guess for...

While channel smurfing I happened across an ad on the Disney Channel for a movie entitled: "Romy & Michell: The Beginning"in the ad one character asks the other:"Who would you rather have sex with: Rock Hudson or Carey Grant?"the other character responds thusly: "Aren't they both dead?"I am no prude but I thought this was supposed to be a "Family" channel. If I had children I would never let them watch this channel.Perhaps the odd weather of late can be blamed onWalt Disney's spinning in his grave affecting the rotation of the Earth, rather than the mythical Global Warming.
  • ABC "Family" Channel Christmas Programming

Is anyone else trying to watch the Christmas programming on "ABC Family"? There are several good programs on, many of them are the old Clay-mation Christmas shows that I remember from my childhood. And before I get bashed for not knowing that Jesus is the reason for the season, I do. But I also know that these are good, wholesome classics and are a Christmas tradition in my family. The problem is: nearly every commercial break contains a plug for the "ABC Family" show "Degrassi High", which appears to be aimed at teenagers and has at least one positively-portrayed gay...

f you were out enjoying the city last weekend, you might have stumbled, quite literally, across a new low in advertising. Big corporations like Nike and ABC were promoting themselves by pasting large plastic posters, known as street decals, on the sidewalks. This renegade marketing is offensive and illegal, and Nike wisely decided yesterday to remove its decals. There is a long tradition of graffiti artists, "guerrilla marketers" and fringe political groups painting, stenciling or otherwise inscribing their messages on the streets and sidewalks. This sort of defacement has always been illegal, but in the case of fly-by-night offenders it...
