Free Republic's first big event occurred on this day in 1998 in response to malfeasance in the Clinton Administration. Happy Anniversary! However, it is 15 years later and apparent that we are circling the drain. That said, it was a great time in D.C. low those many years ago.

The government shutdown the World War II memorial, now truckers are shutting down America. On October 1, the Obama administration closed the WWII memorial in DC, which was paid for with private funds to honor the country's most beloved veterans. One week later, the Administration allowed for an immigration reform rally to take place on the National Mall with hundreds of illegal immigrations in participation, just a few hundred feet away. The outrage caught national headlines and the National Park Service has since changed the wording on the signs around the memorial. Ride for the Constitution has sent their drivers...

MILLION MAN MARCHAfter Action Report13 October 2013 As I walked down 17th Street to the WWII Memorial I was passed by at least a dozen D.C Police cruisers and Paddy wagons. Two Secret Service cruisers were blocking vehicular access to 17th below Constitution Avenue. I was late arriving and missed Sarah Palin, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. Photo by KC Lion Arriving at the Memorial, I made my way to the high U.S. Flag and Gadsden Flagheld by FReeper Mr. Trooprally. ConorMacNessa, Mr. Trooprally and Ron G. On Saturday, at a little before 9:30 a.m., citizens determined to break through the “barrycades” around the Lincoln Memorial moved the government barricades aside and proceeded to enter the Memorial. According to Taylor Hemness from KLTV 7: [The protesters] went completely up those steps, past the National Parks Service members who didn’t do anything to stop them as they made their way up to the Lincoln monument asking people to come with them, begging them to make people in DC listen to what they were doing.

Please pardon the vanity! I just got home from an Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment rally in Latham, NY. This one was to support the truckers effort. WHAT A BLAST! Thousands of cars passed us and the majority of them honked, gave 'thumbs up' and/or waved encouragingly. A few people hollered 'THANKS!" We got a very few negative shouts and maybe 7 'thumbs down'. There were 6 of us, and 2 more people parked their car and joined us. How cool is that??? I swear to you as well, a few black guys walked past us at different times and they...

Here's my action report for the 9-11 events in DC. I live in Hagerstown and I took the day off and went to DC to support the Bikers, and to take photos of the event. The weather was sunny and in the 90s here with very little breeze. When I arrived I literally said out loud, "where is everybody?" I was surprised completely to find the Muslims were non-existent anywhere near the National Mall (later on that). I first met a few bikers who had parked their cycles near the Capitol building on Jefferson Street. Behind them in the slightly...

It looks as though the controversial “Million Muslim March†set for the September 11 anniversary in Washington, D.C. may fall well short of a crowd numbering in the seven figure range.Even the Huffington Post has all but written it off: “‘Million Muslim March’ Shaping Up To Be More Like A Few Hundred People Walking Down The Street.â€Here are a couple of shots of the reported turnout from WTOP:(Credit: Twitter/@JohnAaronWTOP) (Credit: Twitter/@JohnAaronWTOP) Turns out a memo delivered to tenants of a downtown D.C. office building said to expect “somewhere in the hundreds, not thousands, of participants,†according to police estimates,...

While over 100,000 people were expected to show up at today’s ceremonies marking the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, late estimates put the crowd numbers at 20,000. Mike Levine of ABC News reported at 2:10 p.m. ET that unofficial crowd estimates from law enforcement sources put the number at “over 20,000.”

wset.images.worldnow.comFrom: VCDL President SIGNS? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' SIGNS! ER, WELL, OK, MAYBE WE DO On Wednesday I surveyed VCDL's inventory of signs from previous events, but found that I didn't have any applicable signs here in Richmond for the Bloomberg Tyranny Tour (BTT). I got in my car and began my drive up to Roanoke for my talk at the Roanoke City Republican Committee meeting. On the ride up I called EM John Wilburn in Blacksburg to ask him if he could help me with signs for Friday. John jumped into action with member Sheila Rigney and they...

In 2007 the D.C. Chapter heard the Gathering of Eagles’ call to show appreciation to our recruiters on Armed Forces Day. Being that Armed Forces Day is on a Saturday and recruiter stations are closed, the Friday before that Saturday was the official Recruiter Appreciation Day. The D.C. Chapter has adopted the Silver Spring, Maryland recruiter station. We have supported the military when Code Pink and Raging Grannies have protested there. The leftist have put super glue in the door lock and cracked the plate glass window. The D.C. Chapter has occasionally shown our appreciation at the L Street,...

On the day after Easter, 2013, family, friends and FReepers from far and wide packed The Sweeney Funeral Home to share tears and the many tales of Doctor Raoul’s adventures in the cause of Theodore Roosevelt’s Americanism: “Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity and hardihood – the virtues that made America.” In his tribute to Doctor Raoul, Kristinn relates from personal experience how Doctor Raoul lived his Americanism. Even though Doctor Raoul didn’t appear from behind a door and shout “April Fool”, his presence was everywhere. The 1957 Chevy hearse parked out front; the Philly soft...

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — An overwhelming crowd once again showed up at a local gun show Saturday. Thousands of gun enthusiasts showed up for the Pittsburgh Gun Show at the Monroeville Convention Center. Gun shows have been inundated with significantly more attendees than usual since the recently proposed assault weapons ban. Sales of many assault-type weapons have boomed since the ban was proposed as worried gun enthusiasts scramble to purchase guns that may become outlawed. Organizers of the Monroeville gun show say they expect 10,000 visitors in a three-day period. That’s a 40 percent increase over their normal numbers says C...

If one were to believe gun control advocates, one would come to the conclusion that those of us who are strong supporters of the 2nd Amendment are nothing but a lot of gun-crazy, law-breaking, and unruly citizens who believe the government is out to take our guns. To hear them tell it, all they want to do is reinstate the ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines (high-capacity is considered to be anything over 10 rounds). We have nothing to fear, or so they say. The assault weapon and high-capacity magazine bans are nothing more than common sense measures that...
