Today is my "Going Galt" day as I retired in preparation of moving to the retreat in the mountains. To wash the taste of work and DC out of my mouth and to bask in the atmosphere of good vibes I decided to go to the 1000-table gun show at the Dulles Expo center about 15 miles from DC. _Resident Obama gave a speech today at the Clemente Center on the campus of the Florida Institute of Technology. Early reports are that the speech went very well and this from a very conservative source inside the venue. There was a very good turnout with FReepers Kristinn, Shove-it, Ravenstar, and yours truly. We were at the Chick Fil-A at the Paramus Park Mall in Paramus, NJ. The first time I ate at this place since the mall opened in 1974, and it was pretty darned good. I highly recommend the peach shake. What's noteworthy is this particular Chick fil-A is one of the few remaining original teneants at this mall. No media coverage, other than the local cable news. We went to a South Florida Chick-Fil-A, one that is in a "white" area, but still fairly diverse ethnically because of a nearby college...the town of Davie. As I write this, Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day isn't even over yet, but it is already obvious that the cultural Left in America has been handed an absolutely huge defeat today. Went to my local Chick-Fil-A here in Maryland(the Blue Liberal Bathtub) at Noon today and the store was already packed with customers just before Noon time today! The other location near Waldorf Maryland was just as busy from what I have been told. The wife and I tried to visit the Chik-Fil-A at Eastpointe in Bridgeport, WV. The parking lot was FULL, and the drive-through traffic spilled out onto the frontage road, the side road connector, into the four-lane that surrounds the shopping center. There was no way we were getting in there. We decided to head to the next one, five minutes up the road at Meadowbrook, located in the mall. This one was also very full.
