...The prematurely gray dad of two kicked off his opening statement talking about his wife and family - joking about his daughters, who were probably out "bathing chickens for the county fair," his extended family and childhood pranks, the values of working hard. Gorsuch thought back to the first time he put on his black robe - how it reminded him of the important job he had to do. He told the senators he didn't realize how big it was until he slipped on it and fell. "Everything went flying," he recalled. Now, three years later, that robe is still...

These horrible & politically charged decisions coming out of the Supreme Court are shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives. We need more Justices or we will lose our 2nd. Amendment & everything else. Vote Trump 2020!

Many of us who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 had serious misgivings about him as a person and a candidate. Yet it was either Trump or Hillary Clinton, so our vote for Trump was effectively a vote against Hillary. Now, in 2020, the stakes are considerably higher. As expressed by George P. Bush, “Trump is the only thing standing between America and socialism.”That’s why many voters will support Trump again, even if they are put off by some of his tweets and public statements. In their minds, it’s either Trump or Antifa, either Trump or chaos on our streets. In...

The fact that four justices who complained that the court needed to hear Second Amendment cases passed on 10 chances to do so tells us much about the courtÂ’s 'swing vote.' The U.S. Supreme CourtÂ’s decision to pass on nearly a dozen gun-rights-related cases is breathtaking, not in the denial of hearing any, but in the seeming admission that the conservative associate justices think Chief Justice John Roberts canÂ’t be trusted to protect the Bill of Rights. The nationÂ’s top court denied writ of certiorari to 10 cases. The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearm industry trade association, submitted amicus curiae...

(CNSNews) -- A report by Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting (SAAF) estimates that in April 2020 there were 1,797,910 gun sales, an increase of 71.3% over the April 2019 sales. As the SAAF estimated, "April 2020 U.S. firearms unit sales [were] at 1,797,910 units, a year-over-year increase of 71.3% from April 2019. Likely single handgun sales (1,085,046) increased year-over-year by 83.1% whereas single long-gun sales (560,353) increased year-over-year by 51.7%." "All other likely background check-related sales (152,512) increased year-over-year by 74.6%," said the SAAF. "This includes so-called 'multiple' sales where the allocation between handguns and long-guns cannot be determined from...

A man was shot Monday after gunfire erupted at a demonstration in New Mexico, where protesters attempted to topple a bronze conquistador’s statue outside an Albuquerque museum, authorities said. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition, police said. “The shooting tonight was a tragic, outrageous and unacceptable act of violence and it has no place in our city,” Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller said in a statement. A group of armed men, who call themselves the New Mexico Civil Guard, were trying to stop the statue being taken down when gunshots...

A Virginia sheriff has apologized to a black pastor who was arrested for pulling a gun on a group of white neighbors as they allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill him. Pastor Leon McCray, 61, told his congregation that he was surrounded by a “mob” of five “irate” people who attacked him “verbally and physically” after he stopped them dumping a refrigerator on his property in Edinburg. The group was “threatening my life,” he said during a sermon at his Lighthouse Church & Marketplace Ministries International — claiming they also told him, “Black lives don’t matter.” “Being threatened and fearing...

The case is Thomas Rogers, Et Al. V. Gurbir Grewal and was a 2nd Amendment case which was brought before the Supreme Court. The court denied the Petition of Cert, which means the court will not hear the case. Often times, when a case is denied cert, the court doesn't comment upon it at all. The petition is merely denied. In this case, Justice Thomas (joined by Justice Kavenaugh) wrote a dissent to this denial. You may read the full dissent HERE.

VOTE: Do you support defunding police departments?
-
A social worker and an abortionist won't do you much good when an armed intruder is breaking into your home in the night — and if Democrats had their way, you'd be rendered defenseless as well. Whether “Defund the Police” actually means dismantling police departments, as it appears to in Minneapolis, or is an attempt to gaslight conservatives while neutering law enforcement, one thing is certain: The party yelling to “defund the police” is the same one that desperately wants to disarm the citizenry, rendering them utterly defenseless.Leftists, and increasingly the Democratic mainstream, have long assured Second Amendment advocates that...

The Supreme Court on Monday said it will not hear appeals of a slew of cases involving gun laws, dealing a blow to Second Amendment activists who seek to expand the rights of gun owners. In an order released Monday morning, the court denied petitions for appeals of 10 cases. ... Thomas, in a written dissent Monday, took issue with his colleagues on the Supreme Court rejecting the appeal of a New Jersey business owner, Thomas Rogers, who was challenging his state’s requirement that a person show “justifiable need” before being issued a handgun permit. Rogers services automatic teller machines...

MOULTRIE, Ga. -- News of former Moultrie Fire Chief Jeff Thibodeau’s resignation hit shortly before noon Friday with an announcement from the city. Thibodeau had been put on administrative leave on Tuesday, June 9, because of an “offensive comment” posted this past weekend on his personal Facebook page. The post included a picture of George Floyd...stamped with an alleged rap sheet. Thibodeau captioned it saying, “I’m just going to leave this right here.... ................................ In the wake of Thibodeau’s situation, however, some people have looked into Moultrie City Councilman Cornelius Ponder’s Facebook posts and called some of them into question...

I was deeply saddened to learn from Alan Gottlieb that Joe Tartaro passed away this week. I consider Joe the Grand Old Man of the gun owners’ civil rights movement. He was pushing 90 and still amazingly active. The longtime president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), which he had helped to foster with Alan, Joe was also one of the prime movers of the Cincinnati Revolt in 1977. That was the profound sea change in which Joe and other activists turned the National Rifle Association from a group of hunters and target shooters into the gun rights activism powerhouse...

Every time some supposed conservative or Republican explains why he or she can’t vote for President Trump, I wonder if they have thought about the alternative – the Biden-Schumer-Pelosi machine. Our choice in November will not be between President Trump and President Perfection. It will be between President Trump and a nightmare that would end America as we have known it. If former Vice President Joe Biden wins, it means the turnout in favor of Democrats will be such that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., remains leader of a Democratic majority in the House. It also means that Democrats will...

Heavily armed citizens showed up recently at protests in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Montana, Colorado and Idaho to allegedly protected peaceful protesters from antifa. ... The FBI stated there is no evidence that any protests have been linked to antifa. Still, President Donald Trump tweeted: “Domestic Terrorists have taken over Seattle, run by Radical Left Democrats, of course. LAW & ORDER!” ... In mid-April, after blue-state governors enacted quarantine measure, he also claimed multiple times that these governors were trying to take people’s guns away...Less than two weeks later, armed anti-lockdown protesters descended on Michigan’s statehouse. In response, some state legislators...

Courtney says she was home with her son who’s been doing virtual learning since schools shut down in March. “So, I answered the door. The police officer was, he was very nice. He explained to me that he was coming to address an issue with my son's school,” Courtney told Project Baltimore. “And then explained to me that he was here to search for weapons, in my home. And I consented to let him in. And then I, unfortunately, stood there and watched police officers enter my 11-year-old son's bedroom.” Courtney was told someone had seen the guns in her...

...Or if not fired, at least publicly denounced by the law school. Student groups plan to demand the law school “critically examine the views of the people they employ as professors of the law.” There is an effort underway to get me fired at Cornell Law School, where I’ve worked since November 2007, or if not fired, at least denounced publicly by the school. Ever since I started Legal Insurrection in October 2008, it’s been an awkward relationship given the overwhelmingly liberal faculty and atmosphere. Living as a conservative on a liberal campus is like being the mouse waiting for...

A Chicago woman, evidently frustrated by armed guards at a local cell phone preventing her acquisition of new equipment during the recent rioting, tells us a lot about the state of thinking in the riot-American community. She's not showing a lot of intersectional solidarity with Muslim immigrants, whom she denounces as not real Africans because they are from Morocco (she says), and at one point, she repeatedly yells, "Burn them, Allah!" as she drives by, circling around to extend the harangue. It's unfair, you see, because the black lives she thinks they will take are not insured, though she presumes...
