I have decided to take some time away from FR for a while. This election had something to do with it, I'll admit. MAybe I just need to stop feeling upset every time I read a thread on how bad it was last night. It was bad, but I believe in miracles. Maybe in 2 years the country will see how bad San Francisco style leadership is in the House and restore the House back to the Pubbies. Maybe two years in the minority will make them learn a lesson they will never forget. If they reclaim power, they better...

Getting damn sick of every other post from some ninny trying to sound smart and important. Go get a blog you people, nobody cares!

We'll see nancy Pelosi she truly reaches out to Bush and other Republicans in a bipartisan spirit, or if they continue on with their divisive partisan rhetoric. We'll see if Nancy Pelosi "drains the swamp" as she puts it. Will this "draining" include Democrats Harry Reid, Jefferson, and Menendez? Scandals have loomed around them. Jefferson and his $90,000 stashed in a freezer found during an FBI raid. Harry Reid and the land deal and Christmas bonuses flaps. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see if Nancy Pelosi and the Dems keep to a centrist and moderately conservative agenda (like they said they...

This is my first vanity, so bear with me... Like many of you here, I wasn't too excited with the results of the election. It is not a time to be self-denying, there were plenty of good reasons for voters to be unhappy with the GOP and there are plenty of things that need to be worked on and corrected. As opposed to dwelling on it for too long, I figured I'd put my efforts to something helpful and useful, so I made a donation to FR! FreeRepublic.com is an amazing tool, that has a hugh effect on the media...

Does (almost certainly) losing the Virginia senate election give George Allen more time to campaign for 2008, like Romney and Frist both stepping down does?

Any word TKS spot with Jim and Obi Wan? I can't get to his site and wonder if Obi Wan is positive or going negative? Thanks

Post your funny election stories here. Any embarrassing stories? Any gut-busters? First time mistakes? Well...I'm an election rookie. First time! College ends for me at 3:15 PM. I remember that I have to meet with my councilor to discuss registering for classes for the next semester. By the time I get out of UAB, it's 4:10. You know what that means when heading south from the Birmingham area? RUSH HOUR. So it's about 5:00 PM when I get to Alabaster. And I have no idea where my polling spot is. I registered several months ago, and I've long forgotten where...

I just stood in line an hour to vote here in TX, and I was denied a vote because I was not registered. I put in for registration when I changed my TDL address, but it was never processed. The official at the polls told me it happened to a bunch of people. I live in Gregg county, and the DPS office is in Longview. I'm planning on calling the state number and complaining. If I were not a Caucasian Republican, I'd have an army down here tomorrow and make the news. This SUCKS. FNG out.

What the hell is with the national media calling races before a single vote is counted? POLL ARE STILL OPEN!!!
-
Reported with 1% in. What the hell?
-
Is it just my ISP or is the internet totally conjested?
-
Excuse the Vanity - but in most of the races I'm looking at less than half the precincts are reporting in. Casey vs Santorum: 22% reported in. Cardin vs. Steele: 7%. I think the media is jumping the gun here. Those who haven't voted GO DO IT. Screw what CNN is telling you...

Twas the night of elections and all through the Senate Not a congressman was sleeping, not a single incumbent The voters were casting their ballots with great care In hopes that lawyers would not have to be there The voters did not go to sleep in their beds Instead, they watched TV and their talking heads Same news, continually repeated, just to recap Mamma and I both got tired of their crap But then we turned to Fox news, for what it mattered HUGE NEWS, the screen all covered and splattered Something new and different, a real news flash True...

The one thing that Barone and others have accurately pointed out. It is conservative Democrats, many pro-life, tax cut, some even would not commit to vote for Pelosi. They have to run conservative to get these wins. That will help make an interesting fissure in the Democrat Party. Liberal Bloggers are also very upset about Ned LamontL Losing. The Republicans lack of sticking up for Iraq , Immigration or Controlling Spending has cost us.
-
Folks, one thing needs to be considered with the election results. Tonight was a loss for Republicans, not conservatism. Look at the emminent domain ballot measures; they are winning all over the country. Look at the democrats that are being put up: many are progun/prolife. They were put up there as a candidate that people could actually vote for because they are not far left candidates. Even if these dems do fall to the far left with their party, it doesn't change the fact that the country is voting with a foundation in many conservative beliefs. Just a thought.
