As part of President Donald Trump's impeachment defense team, Alan Dershowitz is expected to argue on behalf of the president at the Senate trial early next week. But in a 2016 book he authored, the famed defense attorney called Trump a “destabilizing and unpredictable candidate,” warning that the then-presidential candidate “openly embraces fringe conspiracy theories peddled by extremists.” Dershowitz wrote those statements in his book titled “Electile Dysfunction: A Guide for Unaroused Voters.” In a phone call with NBC about his comments in the 2016 book, Dershowitz clarified his views about the president. “I was campaigning for Hillary Clinton at...

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was grilled on Friday during an interview on CBS News after he claimed that no one knew how much his estimated $60 trillion in government programs were going to cost. “While the new spending programs Sen. Bernie Sanders has proposed in his presidential campaign would at least double federal spending over the next decade, he has faced almost no questions from other candidates or the media – on the eve of the last debate before primary voting begins – about how he would implement or finance such a massive increase,” CNN reported last...

If you are four hands into a high stakes poker game and you still havenÂ’t figured out who the mark is, itÂ’s probably you. Poor Bernie behaves as if he doesnÂ’t yet understand that he is the mark. The deck is stacked. The cards are marked. The remaining players at the table, especially that smiling dealer (the one with the press credentials, shuffling the cards) havenÂ’t determined who the winner will be. But they have decided one thing, it ainÂ’t gonna to be Bernie! TheyÂ’ve tipped their hands. The New York Times Editorial Board canÂ’t decide which woman should be...

WASHINGTON -- Google "fact-check Senate impeachment" and you can read about all the factual errors made by President Donald Trump's team of lawyers. What about those of the House impeachment managers? Apparently, this week, head prosecutor Adam Schiff and his colleagues cannot tell a lie. Or even a half-truth. Factcheck.org rattles off the White House's sins. White House counsel Pat Cipollone wrongly suggested that Republicans were barred from closed-door depositions conducted by the House Intelligence Committee. Trump attorney Jay Sekulow falsely said that the Trump team was denied "the right to have counsel present at hearings" -- when the Trump...

VIDEO SUMMARY Joseph Backholm is in Washington D.C. for the 2020 Women’s March. The question he poses at the march seems relatively simple, “What is a woman?” but maybe this question is harder to answer than we thought.

President Donald Trump has done it again. He just keeps winning. He just keeps proving the Trump Doctrine works magnificently. Don't look now, but Trump has even built his wall -- and Mexico is paying for it. More on that later. First, I want to explain how and why Trump is winning like no president in history. Even UFC legend Conor McGregor just called President Trump the GOAT -- as in "the greatest of all time." It's all because of the Trump Doctrine, a mixture of Trump's unique business acumen and negotiating skills. No other politician in the world...

Satisfaction “with the way things are going” in the United States has reached a 15-year high, about four times better than the low points registered under President Barack Obama. In its latest survey, Gallup said that 41% are satisfied with the direction of the nation. The last time it hit that level was in 2005, during the administration of President George W. Bush. Under Obama, it hit about 10% in his first and third year, but it rose to the mid-30s in his last year. Gallup suggested that the strong economy was the driver in boosting U.S. satisfaction levels. “The...

If you pour water up the nose of a terrorist, Democrats everywhere will condemn you as a torturer, but if you ramble on for days, repeating yourself like a jackhammer to convince people your lies are the truth, those same people will line up to shine your shoes. That was the story of the “opening statement” from the team of Democrats in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump this week. Adam Schiff and his merry band of impeachment managers gave it the old college try in a very long, repetitive, and boring opening statement in the next step of...

Former US Vice President Joe Biden, his son Hunter and their work in the Ukraine is 'relevant evidence' in the Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump, one of the president's defense lawyers claim. The Democratic front-runner and his son could even be called to testify if the Senate votes to permit witnesses next week. Trump's team claim that any discussion on the president's call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would have to take the Bidens and their actions in the country into account. The President's defense team began their case for Trump's acquittal on Saturday after Democrats spent three days...

WASHINGTON - Republicans adopted a new defense strategy this past week at President Donald Trump's impeachment trial in the Senate: boredom. A top White House aide called the trial "unwatchable," Trump's campaign manager compared the proceedings to watching paint dry, and several Republican senators entertained distractions while downplaying the three-day prosecution as repetitive and unexciting. "They're really not bringing forth new information," Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said of the House impeachment managers Friday. "I've not heard anything new," added Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla. Barrasso and Scott were among 53 Republican senators who voted 10 times last week to block new...

Hong Kong’s embattled leader adopted the advice of local medical experts as she on Saturday launched a new wave of measures to counter the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus – though divisions remained on whether the city should tighten or even close its border with mainland China. Some 48 hours after the city confirmed its first two cases – with a further three announced on Friday – Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor raised the government’s response against the new virus to the highest level of emergency after a public outcry. Lam agreed to suggestions by microbiologist Professor Yuen Kwok-yung...
