Did You Know John Dingell Once Told Trump to Go to Hell? Dec 19, 2019  RUSH: I checked the email in the break. It says, “Rush, you haven’t commented on Trump’s insulting of John Dingell.†Well, okay. So Trump is in Michigan. Grab sound bite number 20. Looks like this might be it. In three, two, one, go ahead and hit it.THE PRESIDENT: Debbie Dingell, that’s a real beauty. Twenty-one years ago Thursday, as the House approved articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott was sitting in his study in Pascagoula, Miss., "looking out on a beautiful live oak tree." With a sigh, the Republican leader picked up the phone to call Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, his Democratic counterpart. "Whether we like it or not, this is sitting in our lap," he told Daschle, "and we've got to figure out how to deal with it." Lott was a skilled vote-counter. "I knew the votes were not there and were never gonna be there...

It’s hard to believe the Speaker’s latest stunt will go on for very long. I’ll confess: Last night, when I was first told that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was toying with the idea of not delivering the two articles of impeachment voted by the House against President Trump, I assumed it was a joke. For these last weeks, the Democrat-dominated chamber has been in a mad rush to impeach the president. Democrats even tacked on article two — “obstruction of Congress” — because, they told us, time could not be wasted engaging in the usual negotiation and litigation over legislative demands...

Since the Democrats do not have another viable candidate, in spite of having two-dozen crazy options—from socialists to fake Indians, from Spartacus to a gay mayor, and even Old Creepy Joe—Hillary will be back, yet one more time. Remember the “Thriller in Manilla” or the “Rumble in the Jungle”? Frazer vs. Ali wouldn’t hold a candle to the coming match of this century. Mark it down: it will be Trump vs. Clinton, the “Romp in the Swamp.” Donald, the Manhattan Blue Collar Billionaire, and reigning champion of the Free World against Crooked Hillary, the two-time loser who must think the...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) strategy of holding articles of impeachment in the House rather than sending them to the upper chamber won’t put any pressure on him to agree to a rules package for the Senate trial. “It’s beyond me how the Speaker and Democratic leader in the Senate think withholding the articles of impeachment and not sending them over gives them leverage,” McConnell told reporters after criticizing the House impeachment effort in a lengthy floor speech. “Frankly, I’m not anxious to have the trial. If she thinks her case is so weak...

WASHINGTON — The day after the House cast historic votes to impeach President Trump, Speaker Nancy Pelosi put an abrupt halt on the proceedings, holding back from sending the charges to the Republican-led Senate in a politically risky bid to exert influence over the contours of an election-year trial. With some leading Democrats pushing to delay transmittal of the articles and others advocating that they be withheld altogether, the limbo is likely to persist until the new year. The House left town on Thursday for a two-week holiday recess without taking the votes to appoint impeachment managers, which is required...

Former Vice Preisdent Joe Biden made clear at Thursday night’s Democratic presidential primary debate that he’d sacrifice economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production and potentially risk displacing hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in order to combat climate change. Moderator Tim Alberta asked: “Three consecutive American presidents have enjoyed stints of explosive economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production. As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest...

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) vowed Thursday that as president she would read the names of transgender victims of violence in the White House Rose Garden every year. "Here's a promise I made: I will go to the Rose Garden once every year to read the names of transgender women, of people of color who have been killed in the past year," Warren said during the PBS News Hour/Politico debate in Los Angeles. "I will make sure that we read their names so that as a nation we are forced to address the particular vulnerability on homelessness," she...

WIZARDING WORLD—Activists descended on embroiled wizarding school Hogwarts today after it was revealed that the institution still has separate dormitories for boys and girls. An independent investigator discovered that bigoted school prefects would instruct boys and girls to sleep in separate areas, as though biological sex is a real thing. The school even has dances where each boy asks a girl if she'd like to attend with him. The boys and girls dress differently and do different parts of the dance together, as though they are biologically designed to fulfill different roles and enjoy different things. "Get this: as soon...

My crazy cousin texted me today, she is the same one who criticized police officers and Republicans during Thanksgiving. She texted me today, saying that police are not trustworthy with minorities and women. She is upset because her brother wants to be a police officer. What would you tell her if you were related to her?

Whoops. Footage capturing the outside of Jeffrey Epstein’s cell during his first suicide attempt is not missing, prosecutors said Thursday — correcting the bombshell assertion Wednesday that it was. “Earlier today, the Government confirmed with [Metropolitan Correctional Center] staff that the Video was preserved by MCC staff,” Assistant US Attorneys Jason Swergold and Maurene Comey told federal judge Kenneth Karas in a court filing.

Five current and former New Jersey public officials are facing charges of accepting bribes following a major corruption investigation, the state’s attorney general announced. The five defendants are charged with taking thousands of dollars in bribes from one cooperating witness in the form of campaign contributions, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said. In return, the officials promised the cooperating witness, who is a tax attorney, they would vote or use their office of influence to hire or continue to hire his law firm for lucrative government legal work. The defendants include Sudhan Thomas, incumbent Jersey City school board president, and former...

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he signed “groundbreaking” legislation supporting historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The legislation will permanently fund HBCUs and simplify federal financial aid applications for millions of families, the president said in a statement Thursday. “President Obama and the Obama Administration were unable to get this done. I got it done,” Trump said, arguing that HBCUs have never had a champion in the White House before his presidency. Funding for the HBCU’s was in jeopardy a few months ago until the White House and Congress collaborated on a “historic agreement,” the president said. [snip]

Sen. Elizabeth Warren's campaign raised eyebrows after announcing that Ed Buck, an accused sexual predator and former megadonor for the Democrats, was among hundreds of Obama-era figures who endorsed her candidacy. It was first reported Wednesday by CNN that Warren, D-Mass., was being backed by over 200 campaign aides and administration officials under former President Obama, all of whom signed a letter announcing their support for the progressive candidate in an effort organized by former senior Obama aides Sara El-Amine and Jon Carson. CNN highlighted some names on the list, including former U.S. Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford and former...

New on Netflix is a five-part documentary called “The Confession Killer”. It’s fairly fascinating, detailing the story of alleged serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, who claimed to have killed over 600 people. The Texas Rangers used his confessions to clear over 200 unsolved murder cases. Basically, if there was an unsolved case, they’d ask Henry about it, give him a milkshake and he would confess to it. It made him and his handlers stars and they all loved the attention. But, it was mostly entirely false. He had previously served time for killing his mother, and there’s a solid chance...

AMC and production company Stalwart Films had argued that John Bernecker’s death in a fall from a balcony during a staged fight was an unforeseen accident that happened when the trained stuntman missed a landing pad 25 feet (7.62 meters) below. Bernecker’s parents, Susan and Hagen Bernecker, sued AMC, Stalwart and several other defendants involved in the show’s production, claiming they skimped on safety measures for financial and scheduling concerns. In a statement, plaintiffs attorney Jeffrey Harris said the 33-year-old “was a remarkably talented stunt professional who had an incredibly bright future in the film industry. My sincere hope is...

Former Vice President Joe Biden demurred when asked if he would only commit to serving one term in office if he’s elected president. “No I won’t commit one way or another,” Biden said. “Let’s win this election then see where we are. Let’s see what happens.” Biden’s age has become an issue in the Democratic primary, and some Democrats have whispered about whether he should commit to only serving one term in an effort to putting questions about his age behind him. At Thursday night’s debate, Politico reporter Tim Alberta read a quote from former President Obama, who said this...

Toward the beginning of Thursday's Democratic presidential primary debate, the seven candidates went after the current state of the economy, something the President Trump has repeatedly lauded during his presidency. Former Vice President Joe Biden said that despite the growing economy, the middle class was suffering. "The middle class is getting killed; the middle class is getting crushed," former Vice President Joe Biden argued. "The working class has no way up, as a consequence of that," he added. Biden also cited a statistic, saying that 40 percent of the farmers in the Midwest couldn't pay their bills last year. Pete...
