A Harvard student has apologized for calling MK Tzipi Livni (Zionist Union) a “smelly Jew” during a panel discussion last week. The incident occurred last Thursday when the Harvard Law School hosted a panel discussion with guest speakers Dennis Ross and Livni. During a question and answer session a president of a student organization mocked the Israeli leader, asking her, “How is it that you are so smelly?” When his question drew stunned silence, he clarified his "question" and said, “A question about the odor of Ms. Tzipi Livni, she’s very smelly, and I was just wondering.” The question was...

Drew Mariani - Relevant Radio, Thursday 5 pm Eastern I'm scheduled for interview live with Drew Mariani at 5 pm Eastern tomorrow, Thursday, April 21. We'll be talking about Mary's Advocates efforts to ask the Church to work to prevent divorce from happening in the first place. The Catechism and the Code of Canon Law are my primary resources. Pope Francis' exhortation on the family, Amortia Leatitia, helps too. If you have a question or can share your own experience (good or bad) about the Church helping to keep a marriage together, give us a call (1-877-766-3777). See list of...

Wednesday while campaigning in Hershey PA, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)said his rival Donald Trump was “afraid of a debate” with him because he lacked “substantive solutions” on policy. Cruz said, “What I agree is that the Democratic process works, and Donald whines and complains when the voters reject him. The voters are going to decide. We’ve won five states in a row. Donald won his home state, which surprised nobody. And it’s the people — we are seeing Republicans uniting behind our campaign. Because if Donald is the nominee, Hillary wins and she wins by double digits....

If 50% is some sort of cutoff, in say NY for statewide delegates do you need 50% of Kasich, Ted & Trump voters or do you need to beat Rubio & Carson's voters as well in relegating all others to a total of 50%?

BRISTOL, Conn. — ESPN announced that it has fired network analyst and former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling following his comments on Facebook about transgender people. In a statement released Wednesday, ESPN said "Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated." This week, Schilling reposted an image of an overweight man wearing a long blond wig and revealing women's clothing. It included the phrase: "Let him in! To the restroom with your daughter or else you're a narrow minded, judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die!!!" Schilling added...

It’s not very often that I comment on news articles, but a reader of the blog recently brought this one to my attention, and it hits close to home. The article is in the Washington Post’s Travel section and is entitled, “In Guatemala, a treacherous hike to one of the world’s most active volcanoes”. That title pretty much covers why I’m so upset – and conflicted – about the author of the piece is writing about. Anyone who knows me knows that I love volcanoes. BUT. I can’t stress enough that the Santiaguito hikes, conducted in this manner, ARE NOT...

‘Damaged masculinity’ may help explain Columbine and other mass shootings mike.rosenwald@washpost.com Follow @mikerosenwald View Archive RSS Feed April 20 at 6:34 AM Columbine High Schoolshooter, Eric Harris. (AP Photo/HO) Wednesday marks the 17th anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre — the terrible day in 1999 when Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 13 and wounded dozens more before killing themselves in Colorado. In the strangely American phenomenon of mass shootings, Columbine comes up again and again. As I wrote last year: It was Columbine that changed everything…a horrifying event that occurred just as the Internet was taking root in the...

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew will make an announcement today about several changes to U.S. currency. Contrary to a suggestion last year, Alexander Hamilton will apparently be staying on the $10 bill but women’s rights leaders will be added to the back of the bill. The big change will be to the $20 bill according to Politico: Treasury will also announce that it plans to replace former President Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with Harriet Tubman, the sources said. There will also be changes to the $5 bill to depict civil rights era leaders. The Treasury Department announced last June...

Let’s take a break from our national pastime — trying to stop Donald Trump — for a moment of clarity. Wanting Trump out of the Republican presidential race is not the same thing as proclaiming Ted Cruz an acceptable alternative. He manifestly is not. If a Trump presidency would be a disaster, a Cruz administration would be apocalyptic. In this Grand Guignol presidential election season, Cruz, the Texas senator, has enjoyed the benefit of running against a bellicose balloon float kept aloft by racism, misogyny, and Islamophobia. Trump’s say-anything long con has sucked up most of the media attention, including...

Things did not go well for Ted Cruz last night, but his performance in New York's 16th District was especially depressive... Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz was so disliked in Westchester County’s 16th congressional district that residents cast more votes for Ben Carson - who is no longer running... Carson, who bowed out of the GOP race in March, was still featured on Tuesday’s ballot as his request to be removed was made after the deadline had passed. Roughly translated...You Get Nothing! When Zion Shaver's high school wrestling career ended last month, he hugged his coach as the crowd rose to its feet. It's a moment that could very well be the final scene in a movie someday -- that's how miraculous Shaver's life has been to this point. Shaver was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1997 -- without legs. He had caudal regression syndrome, a condition that affects the development of the lower half of the body. He was given up for adoption as a baby, moving from foster home to foster home, from school to school, and he doesn't like...

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the Justice Department needs to make public at least a partial copy of a classified filing that seeks to keep details about Hillary Clinton's private server out of the public eye. The ruling comes after the department submitted a classified filing to U.S. District Court Judge Randy Moss last month asking that he prevent certain information about the server from being released. In a motion filed on Tuesday, Vice News reporter Jason Leopold asked the court to deny that request. Leopold argued that the department had submitted the filing "without prior permission from the...

A San Francisco bay area resident is accusing the bakery staff at the local Whole Foods of adding an "extremely offensive" three-letter slur that starts with a "G" to a cake custom cake ordered at the store. The cake in question was commissioned to say "Love Wins" at the top, but upon receipt of the cake Gianny Limpschtick claims that someone at the Whole Foods wrote "GOP" below. "I can't even say look at it much less say it," said Limpschtick. "I'm not only upset because the cake has been ruined, but San Francisco is a safe space, and that...

arriet Tubman will replace President Andrew Jackson as the face of the $20 bill, and Jackson will be moved to the back of the bill alongside an image of the White House, Treasury Secretary Jacob J.
