Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick made the final $1.5 million payment to creditors on Thursday, meaning he paid back $17.4 million of the $17.6 million that he owed when he filed for bankruptcy in July 2008. The payment and final payouts were confirmed by Joseph Luzinski, a senior vice president at Development Specialists Inc., a management consultancy firm and the liquidating trustee in Vick's bankruptcy. "Paying 99 cents on the dollar, which he did, is remarkable," Luzinski said. "It happens in, maybe, one out of 100 cases." Vick elected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy instead of Chapter 7, which...

What new Fox Sports analyst Michael Vick really did Leave a comment By Friendly Curmudgeon, September 5, 2017 at 12:43 pm Fox Sports announced August 27 that it has hired former NFL quarterback Michael Vick as a studio analyst for its NFL Kickoff program that immediately precedes NFL Sunday on the Fox network. The news release announcing the hire was hilarious in the way it avoided the elephant in the room; namely, Vick’s 2007 felony conviction for operating an illegal dog-fighting ring and subsequent year-and-a-half stint in federal prison. As mostly everyone knows, Vick was a successful quarterback for the...

You Need to See This Tribute to the Victim’s of Michael Vick’s Dog Fighting Ring By Diana Beth Miller - May 23, 2016 Dog fighting has been around for decades. We once may have thought of this practice as one of those faraway, unmentionable “sports” that takes place in the dark recesses of abandoned buildings with less-than-stellar characters at the helm. But, when news broke of an American football quarterback, Michael Vick’s, horrendous practice of dog fighting within the confines of his “luxury” home and property, people were not only shocked and stunned, but also extremely angry that this high-profile...

The Steelers continue to face backlash over the team's decision to sign Michael Vick. The Animal Rescue League has decided to move one of its biggest events away from Heinz Field because Vick's now on the roster. The ARL was going to hold its 16th annual Paws Prints Gala at Heinz, but the group decided to move the Oct. 31 event to Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center instead because of the Vick signing. "While we understand that Mr. Vick has made an effort to atone for his past mistakes and has worked to help strengthen animal abuse laws, we do not...

BOISE – A North Idaho senator is objecting to allowing a Hindu prayer as the opening invocation for the Idaho Senate on Tuesday morning, and says he’ll walk out. Sen. Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, said, “They have a caste system. They worship cows.” He acknowledged the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows any kind of prayer, but said he thinks the Hindu one shouldn’t be allowed to open the Senate, as the United States was “built on the Judeo-Christian not only religion but work ethic, and I don’t want to see that undermined.”

How do you make a crazy quarterback situation in Washington even crazier? You add Michael Vick. The Jets quarterback, a Virginia native who's set to be a free agent at the end of this season, said this week that returning close to home to play for the Redskins would be a "dream come true." "I'm open to playing for anybody that wants to win," Vick told Newsday.com. "But obviously, going back home, I mean, that'll be a dream come true, but I would hate to get my hopes up for something that wouldn't happen. So I can't even think about...
