Could Pope Francis Be a Secret Protestant?

Posted on 12/04/2016 7:15:49 AM PST by pinochet

Pope Francis put up a statue of Martin Luther in a prominent place in the Vatican. He then received a delegation of Lutherans, who presented him with a copy of Luther's 95 Thesis. He then put on a blue scarf, representing the Lutheran tradition, at his meeting with the Lutherans.

See:

http://www.traditioninaction.org/RevolutionPhotos/A700-Luther.htm

Luther, who was historically considered a Catholic heretic and apostate, has received more honor from Pope Francis than most Catholic saints. On the other hand, conservative Catholic cardinals like Cardinal Burke and Cardinal Sarah, are treated like dirt.

What more evidence do we need, to prove that Francis is a secret liberal Protestant, who unexpectedly found himself holding the position of the papacy?

I’m more inclined to think he might become the False Prophet that will help bring the Anti Christ to power?

A secret Communist seems more likely.

Oh my gosh...even conservative Protestants who are friendly to Catholics don’t like this pope’s crap! We don’t claim him!

If he shows up at a church dinner and brings that jello salad with the little marshmallows, start worrying about him being a closet Lutheran. Otherwise, ride it out.

I would say the Pope is a closet communist, not a closet protestant.

He is the Pope of mercy. He is moving the Church in a new direction - a major force for change.

Your first paragraph is utter nonsense, at least in America...

500 years after Luther and the vast majority of protestants in america are not communists...

Every time I see the word "Lutheran" in these threads, I'm compelled to mention that I'm a member of the conservative, Bible-based Missouri Synod Lutheran church as opposed to the ELCA and other apostate synods who call themselves "Lutherans".

So, being a "closet Lutheran" or not, the present Pope wouldn't fit in at all with the Missouri Synod Lutherans, anyhow !

This indeed was the greatest blunder of Francis and the worst ever made by recent popes. Luther was not only an heretic, he caused irreparable damage to the Catholic Church.

I can tell you what he isn’t, but not what he is. He isn’t Catholic. Not even convinced he is religious or a believer in the Bible.

True Catholics believe in and practice the faith even in ill times when the Holy See has itself fallen into disorder and heresy.

a fourflusher is one who is lying, posturing, idly boasting and oblivious to anything he is talking about. he is specifically so full of it that it takes four flushes to wash it all away. specifically, like the present pope.

you posted, in part: “the canonization of ... and Martin Luther King Jr.”

I was not aware that the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a Baptist, was eligible for canonization by the Roman Catholic Church.

Am I right or wrong?
