Thus saith the Lord God; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.(Ezekiel 5:5)

The center of the world, is Israel, the center of Israel is Jerusalem and the center of Jerusalem is Mt Zion, the temple mount.Jerusalem also happens to be at the center of the most momentous events in History as well as in the End Times scenario.

Consider the fact that in Jerusalem, God ordained that a Holy House be erected, that He might descend and inhabit it.

When Solomon had ended his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’s house. When all the children of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the LORD upon the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the earth on the pavement, and worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures for ever.” (2 Chronicles 7:1-3)

Jerusalem is the only city on earth in which God has said “I will place my name there, forever…”.

But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.( 2 Chronicles 6:6,7:16)

Christians love to sing the 48th Psalm,

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.(Psalm 48:1-2)

Jesus quoted this Psalm in the sermon on the mount, when he admonished his disciples not to swear by anything,

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.(Matthew 5:34-35)

This city of David, was the place where our LORD Jesus was crucified, and outside of the city, the place where He was raised up from the dead. Thus to was that Jerusalem was where Satan was dealt a fatal blow.

Zechariah tells us that when the LORD returns to judge the world in Righteousness, his feet will land on the Mt of Olives,

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.(Zechariah 4:4)

Jerusalem is where the church was born, on that first day of the week in which the tomb of Jesus was found empty, and Jesus appeared alive, offering many infallible proofs to his witnesses.

Jews and Christians alike regard Jerusalem as Holy and significant.

Of course we wouldn’t naively believe that to go to Jerusalem is to encounter personal piety and sanctity among her current residents. Isaiah lamented that “The faithful city has become a harlot…”. and in the New Testament she is called “...Sodom and Egypt, the place where our LORD was crucified…”.

Jerusalem is significant to another world religion for the Muslims claim it as their third holiest site, after Mecca and Medina. The Bible mentions Jerusalem hundreds of times, but the Koran makes no mention of Jerusalem by name. In fact, in all of the Koran there is only one passage that the confirms the claim of Jerusalem as the third holiest site, and that is the passage known as the Isra.

The Isra tells the story of Mohammed’s night journey, riding a flying horse(named Baraq) who took him to “Al Aqsa” the farthest place, where he ascended to heaven and had a Muslim prayer meeting with Moses, David, and Jesus.

Modern Islamic scholars now claim ‘Al Aqsa” to be Jerusalem, thus Jerusalem is regarded as the third holiest site within Islam. You have heard of the Al Aqsa martyrs brigade, an Islamic terrorist militia. That is where they get the name.

Currently the Islamic waqf is the custodian of the temple mount, even though Moshe Dyan liberated the Temple mount in 1967. I have often wondered what Dayan turned the holiest Jewish site over to Muslims, who have regularly desecrated it and even used it as a platform for acts of sacrilege, assaulting Jews as they worship at the retaining wall, known as the “Wailing wall” of the second temple.

Then I remembered the words of Jesus,

…and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.(Luke 21:24)

It should be of interest to us all, that the most anti-christ president in American history, Barack Hussein Obama, in an unprecedented speech to the Muslim world, in 2009, only cited one passage of the Koran. Which passage did the leader of the free world choose to reference to his audience of 1.7 billion Muslims?

The Isra was Obama’s only text. Let that fact soak in for a moment. The so called “Leader of the free world” addressed 1.7 billion people of the world and cited the only passage in their whole book which gives them tenuous claim to the city of Jerusalem, thus encouraging them in their Jihad.

A tremendous conflict is soon to erupt over Jerusalem, which will involve all nations of the world, and will lead to the earth’s last battles.

When Jesus took the kingdom from national Israel, he said he was going to give it to a nation which will bear fruit.
Which “nation” was this?

Spain? Turkey? Russia. China? United States?

No! He was speaking spiritually, he was going to give it to the Church, which Peter calls a holy nation.

There are two nations or kingdoms if you will in this world that God is concerned about.
Satan’s kingdom and the kingdom of God’s Son.

The Jews of Jesus time did not understand the types and shadows contained in the OT, I would think someone who says they are a Christian pastor would.
Zechariah is describing the Church being surrounded, hello, have you read the newspapers for the last 50 years?
The two witnesses have been killed ( the Church ) and the world rejoices.
There is a very small remnant that still holds to the one holy Catholic and apostolic Faith.
The Bible is a spiritual book, concerned with spiritual matters.

My only point is that God still has a future program for Israel. I already know that the church is a Holy nation, but that doesn’t refute what I am saying which is that Israel and Jerusalem and the news still have a prophetic future. Why does that bother you so? You haven’t really dealt with any of the scriptures i have raised to support my point. It won’t do you any good to try and mischaracterize my point and make it into a “Straw man” to knock down. For some reason you just can’t see that God has a plan to deal with Israel, the people,(currently in unbelief) and the Land and the City Jerusalem.

Are you saying that Zechariah 12-14 is now spiritualized and refers to the church?

A reading of Ezekiel 16 will tell you that Jerusalem is God favorite place of all His creation. And it is exactly where God promised He will set up His throne after all souls and their spirit intellect, take this flesh journey. When the last soul in heaven is placed in a flesh body at conception, the earth cleansing will begin.

Peter describe this in IIPeter 3...

Of course.

How is physical Jerusalem a heavy stone for all nations?

The only heavy stone is spiritual Jerusalem, because it points out the sin of the nations and says there is only one narrow way to have those sins forgiven and reconciliation with God and that way is Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for sins on the cross. The nations don’t want to hear this.

I am waiting for the Costa Rican army and Singapore army to surround Jerusalem and attack it.

Come on man, God is concerned with souls not dirt in the Middle East. Hebrews 11 tells us we are strangers and exiles on this earth, our home is the new Jerusalem. Give praise.

The Jerusalem God loves is the new Jerusalem, as shown in Galatians 4:25-26.

God loves the new Jerusalem, the holy city described in Revelation 21:1-4

Why do you keep ignoring God in the prophets He sent. Notice what Paul said ICorinthians 10 whole chapter but in particular verse 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples :(examples) and they are written for our admonition, (warning) upon whom the ends of the world are come....

Paul is describing that ‘ROCK’ who the ROCK is .....

Have you learned to count days and nights yet?

Yup, 1,2,3 just have Christians have for 2,000 years.

According to Paul, and Peter all those back to Noah had the opportunity to become Christians before Rome divined up a new religion of traditions of men.

Even Peter made the holy prophets part of his Gospel of Christ... IIPeter 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you: in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance;

2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior:

See what those keys Peter got unlock... the holy prophets...

Please give me chapter and verse because my Bible says different.

John 19:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

Sorry, but the Mt Olives doesn’t look like a skull (2898. kranion) actually the Greek translation is the top round part of the skull. Also Mt Olives is across the Kidron Valley away from Mt Moriah. Please explain how you came to your conclusion.

if you had read my article you would have seen that for some inexplicable reason, the U.N.(The World) has steadfastly resisted the status of Jerusalem as Israel’s capitol and has instead conferred a neutral status on it, and split it in two. Please read the articles if you are going to comment on them, so that instead of being snide, and obtuse you can offer helpful input

Sorry to sound snide, I will try harder to fight the urge.

I get frustrated when someone takes the deep spiritual meaning of God’s word and completely misses the whole point of what that word says.

Physical Jerusalem means no more to God than Paris, London or Moscow.

The new Jerusalem is our home and the object of God’s love and attention.

Thanks for apologizing- I agree with your second statement entirely,

But Prophecy is adamant that Physical Jerusalem is much more than just another city- Zechariah 14:1-4

The place you speak of is north and west of where the Temple was.

Scripture says that the Roman soldiers who were guarding Jesus’s body on the cross, looked out and saw the Temple doors rent.

The Temple doors faced east, not being visible from the NW, and not being visible from the ground outside the Temple walls, the place of crucifixion had to be at a high enough location for the soldier to witness the doors being rent.

Golgotha, “place of the skull”, is a prophetic place connected to David. It has nothing to do with what the landscape looks like, it has everything to do with the place that David brought the skull of Goliath.

We must also look back to Gen 22 and the place where Abraham took his only son, Isaac. Theology mistakenly says that it is Mt Moriah, however, the Hebrew text says that God told Abraham to take Isaac to a mountain in the region of Moriah where He would show Abraham which mountain to ascend where the sacrifice was to take place.

Please watch the videos of Bob Cornuke’s research that I have posted links to.

Where has it been for the past two centuries?
Did God allow it to be hidden from us so we would tricked by the devil into believing what the KJV says?
Sounds like only the highly educated have the wisdom to know the truth. Actually that sound like a modern day Pharisee or Sadducee.
Too bad the common person born with an average IQ or less will never know as much about the Bible then someone who thinks they know Ancient Hebrew.

The UN has resisted it because God has placed it in their heart to resist it, just as He placed it in the heart of Pharaoh to resist His instructions. This modern state that these men of the flesh named Israel is not the Israel of God. The Israel of God has always been the believers in the Son, the Messiah.

Zec 12:5 “And the leaders of Judah shall say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are a strength to me, through YHWH (the LORD) of hosts, their God.’

YWHW of hosts is the Son. The leaders of Jerusalem do not believe in YHWH of hosts (the Son) and so it is those who do believe in YHWH of host (the Son) that give strength to those who do not.

Zach 12:10 ... They shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn, ...

And this takes us to John 1, where John reveals that indeed, the Son had come in the Father's name and the vast majority rejected Him, but to those who believed, these were given authority to become children of God.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. 12 But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (see Hebrews 11)

John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

John 3:13 No one has ascended into heaven except He who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

The Son had already ascended & descended from heaven. It was He who was with Noah, with Abraham, with Isaac, with Jacob, with Moses, it was He who spoke with the prophets, etc., etc.

The Father does not appear until the Son has accomplished all that the Father gave Him to accomplish. (1Cor 15) Then the Father descends with the new Jerusalem and not until then.

Shalom

These posts of yours just make me wish you wonderful people would shuck off the "new testament" and accept the unadulterated truth of HaShem. Unfortunately I know you won't even give it a hearing (you're sure the "new testament" is an authentic part of the Bible because it's there, isn't it???). This makes me want to claw my eyes out sometimes.

I used to actually believe things might change. But unfortunately, as it is, you'll remain forever suspended between Judaism and authentic historical chrstianity, hated equally by both--and taking this hatred as proof that you are right.

You mean like when they assume that "six days" means six days or that the events of Genesis 1-11 actually happened??? Imagine that!!!

No wonder the historical churches are so hostile to the literal truth of the Hebrew Bible.

“Scripture says that the Roman soldiers who were guarding Jesus’s body on the cross, looked out and saw the Temple doors rent.”

The doors didn’t rent/tear, the veil/curtain rent/tore which was inside. The Scripture doesn’t say in Matthew, Mark, or Luke that the soldiers seen the veil/curtain rent/tear, but instead they seen the rocks split, felt the earthquake, and the graves where opened and the dead came back to life.

Matthew 27:51 King James Version (KJV)

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
