Thus saith the Lord God; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.(Ezekiel 5:5)

The center of the world, is Israel, the center of Israel is Jerusalem and the center of Jerusalem is Mt Zion, the temple mount.Jerusalem also happens to be at the center of the most momentous events in History as well as in the End Times scenario.

Consider the fact that in Jerusalem, God ordained that a Holy House be erected, that He might descend and inhabit it.

When Solomon had ended his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’s house. When all the children of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the LORD upon the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the earth on the pavement, and worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures for ever.” (2 Chronicles 7:1-3)

Jerusalem is the only city on earth in which God has said “I will place my name there, forever…”.

But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.( 2 Chronicles 6:6,7:16)

Christians love to sing the 48th Psalm,

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.(Psalm 48:1-2)

Jesus quoted this Psalm in the sermon on the mount, when he admonished his disciples not to swear by anything,

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.(Matthew 5:34-35)

This city of David, was the place where our LORD Jesus was crucified, and outside of the city, the place where He was raised up from the dead. Thus to was that Jerusalem was where Satan was dealt a fatal blow.

Zechariah tells us that when the LORD returns to judge the world in Righteousness, his feet will land on the Mt of Olives,

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.(Zechariah 4:4)

Jerusalem is where the church was born, on that first day of the week in which the tomb of Jesus was found empty, and Jesus appeared alive, offering many infallible proofs to his witnesses.

Jews and Christians alike regard Jerusalem as Holy and significant.

Of course we wouldn’t naively believe that to go to Jerusalem is to encounter personal piety and sanctity among her current residents. Isaiah lamented that “The faithful city has become a harlot…”. and in the New Testament she is called “...Sodom and Egypt, the place where our LORD was crucified…”.

Jerusalem is significant to another world religion for the Muslims claim it as their third holiest site, after Mecca and Medina. The Bible mentions Jerusalem hundreds of times, but the Koran makes no mention of Jerusalem by name. In fact, in all of the Koran there is only one passage that the confirms the claim of Jerusalem as the third holiest site, and that is the passage known as the Isra.

The Isra tells the story of Mohammed’s night journey, riding a flying horse(named Baraq) who took him to “Al Aqsa” the farthest place, where he ascended to heaven and had a Muslim prayer meeting with Moses, David, and Jesus.

Modern Islamic scholars now claim ‘Al Aqsa” to be Jerusalem, thus Jerusalem is regarded as the third holiest site within Islam. You have heard of the Al Aqsa martyrs brigade, an Islamic terrorist militia. That is where they get the name.

Currently the Islamic waqf is the custodian of the temple mount, even though Moshe Dyan liberated the Temple mount in 1967. I have often wondered what Dayan turned the holiest Jewish site over to Muslims, who have regularly desecrated it and even used it as a platform for acts of sacrilege, assaulting Jews as they worship at the retaining wall, known as the “Wailing wall” of the second temple.

Then I remembered the words of Jesus,

…and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.(Luke 21:24)

It should be of interest to us all, that the most anti-christ president in American history, Barack Hussein Obama, in an unprecedented speech to the Muslim world, in 2009, only cited one passage of the Koran. Which passage did the leader of the free world choose to reference to his audience of 1.7 billion Muslims?

The Isra was Obama’s only text. Let that fact soak in for a moment. The so called “Leader of the free world” addressed 1.7 billion people of the world and cited the only passage in their whole book which gives them tenuous claim to the city of Jerusalem, thus encouraging them in their Jihad.

A tremendous conflict is soon to erupt over Jerusalem, which will involve all nations of the world, and will lead to the earth’s last battles.

My point is that everything significant that has ever happened, is connected to Jerusalem. Japheth dwells in the tents of Shem, whether you like it or not...”I will provoke you to jealousy by a non people...”(Deuteronomy 32)

Sorry preacher, but the temple mount is not the original Mt Zion. The original Mt Zion was located in the city of David which is due south and east of the temple mount.

According to Josephus, a contemporary of the time, this place that is called the temple mount is the location of the old Roman citadel. The original temple was located in the city of David near the Gihon Spring and ruins of it have now been revealed.

Japheth dwells in the tents of Shem

Yes, and who are the descendants of Japheth? The Ashkenaz, those whom YHWH sends to rule the land in the latter days. (Jer 50) The regime of iron & clay that the Rock returns and crushes!

Mat 21:42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “’The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Mat 21:44 And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.” 45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. (see Daniel chapter 2, iron represents Roman military might & the clay is defined by the Word of YHWH in Isaiah as His people who no longer listen to YHWH, but turn to their own ways (i.e. the Talmud, 2Kg 17:19 - they lived & ruled by the laws that they made)

My hubby went to Israel on a ten day tour with a Catholic group a few months ago. I did NOT want to go as I don’t like to fly. And I like to control where I stay, which would have been wayyyyy too expensive. :)

They were marched double time all over the place and he loved it. He felt sorry for the older people on the trip, it was very rough on them. He said it was a fantastic trip, and if not for being on the tour they (our friend who traveled also) would never have been able to manage to visit even a quarter as many places. He swan in the dead sea, and rode a camel and they tried to sneak into some place on the border that was pretty much FORBIDDEN and got really close to being in real trouble. Great tales. He loved it and has his holy land tour complete.

I had zero interest in going, but I encouraged him to do it as I was worried that with all the craziness going on over there it may all get destroyed or something.

That's great, I am glad he enjoyed his trip. But the fact remains, NONE of what they showed him in regards to Jesus are the true locations. They were fabricated to make money off of unsuspecting tourists.

The Bible is not complicated. It tells us exactly where everything took place in regards to the ministry of Jesus, His crucifixion (Mt of Olives), death & resurrection. The Bible also tells us exactly who rules over the land, from the Babylonian captivity to the return of Christ, and no where in there does it say that Judah retakes the land and rules it before Christ returns to restore the throne of David.

And especially important in all of this is the biblical location of the Tabernacle of David as it is the Tabernacle of David that is restored, not the Temple of Solomon.

Lam 2:6 He has laid waste his tent like a garden, laid in ruins his meeting place; the LORD has made Zion forget festival and Sabbath, and in his fierce indignation has spurned king and priest.

Amo 9:11 “In that day I will raise up the tent of David that is fallen and repair its breaches, and raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old, 12 that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations who are called by my name,” declares the LORD who does this.

Act 15:16 “After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tent of David that has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it, 17 that the remnant of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who makes these things 18 known from of old.”

Shalom

I think you missed the point of the post between Mr. MJB and the Pastor. Please go re-read what was said because your reply doesn’t make any sense.

I never specified the current “location” of the Temple mount, all I said was that the temple Mt (Mt Zion) is the center of the World. It is not the purpose of this article to locate the site of the original temple, only to declare the significance of Jerusalem and the temple MT.”Yet I have set my King on his Holy Hill of Zion-”Psalm 2

Those few little things I mentioned? Those were little fun things they did on their free time. He is a devout catholic and felt that they were taken to many of the most important places. My husband studies the bible, while I do not.

I don’t think he was led to many “tourist stops”. I do remember he said he went to Mount of Olives. There were so many places that I can’t even begin to recall them all. He and our friend flew out two days early so that they would be well rested when the group arrived. He said that he was very glad to have done that because with the pace they were put through he would have suffered greatly because of the jet lag.

No, I am certain that he was not hoodwinked into some silly tourism trap game. He spends many hours weekly studying, and took a long time considering which company to book with to have the experience that he wanted for his pilgrimage.

It’s interesting that you can be so very dismissive without having any details. Enjoy that.

Jerusalem is the only city on earth in which God has said "I will place my name there, forever…".<<<

Ezekiel 23

1. And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2. Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3. And they committed harlotry in Egypt; they committed harlotry in their youth; there were their breasts pressed, and there was her virgin bosom handled:
4. And their names were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister; and they were mine, and they bore sons and daughters; Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah:

Exodus 3

11. And Moses said to God, Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the people of Israel out of Egypt:
12. And he said, Certainly I will be with you; and this shall be a sign to you, that I have sent you; When you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God upon this mountain:
13. And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the people of Israel, and shall say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; and they shall say to me, What is his name, what shall I say to them:
14. And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM; and he said, Thus shall you say to the people of Israel, I AM has sent me to you:
15. And God said moreover to Moses, Thus shall you say to the people of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you; this is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations:

“His crucifixion (Mt of Olives)”

Are you saying that the crucifixion took place on the MT of Olives?

Actually, Ex 3:15 reads:

Exo 3:15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘YHWH, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.

Num 6:22 YHWH spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, 24 YHWH bless you and keep you; 25 YHWH make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 YHWH lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. 27 “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

Exo 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am YHWH your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 You shall have no other gods before me.

Isa 42:8 I am YHWH; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.

yod hey waw hey ... behold the hand, behold the nail

Luk 24:39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

John 20:27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

?

Ehyeh (”I AM”) is embedded in “Aholibah”, the [harlot] name of Jerusalem.

Simple image.

As far as your Ex 3:15,

“and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations”

is

v’zeh zichri l’dor dor

Not that complicated.

May I suggest the city of Jerusalem in the OT is a type of the new heavenly Jerusalem, which is where those in Christ will live forever.

This new Jerusalem is where the temple of God dwells, i.e. In the believer.

God is no longer interested in a dirt city in the Middle East. When Jesus came, the types and shadows were done away with.

Any temple built in the earthly city in the country of Israel in no way will be built by God or sanctioned by God.

The veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom, signifying the end of the OT type of Jerusalem.

CONTEXT! We are the remember that He, YHWH, is to be remembered forever and in the name YHWH is embedded the picture of the crucifixion, by which they will know that He, Messiah, is the YHWH of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.

John 1:18 No one has ever seen Elohim. The only brought-forth Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He did declare.

John 3:13 “And no one has gone up into the heaven except He who came down from the heaven – the Son of Aḏam.

Jesus, the Messiah, revealing that it has been the Son of Elohim from the beginning acting on behalf of the Father in Heaven. That It was through Him that all came to be that came to be. It was Him in the garden, it was He, the Son who made the covenants with Abraham, with Isaac & with Jacob. It was He who wrestled with Jacob. It was He who ate under the tree with Abraham & He who called for the fire & brimstone to come down from His Father, YHWH, in Heaven.

“In the Name of the Father, the Son & the Set-apart Spirit”, there is only one Name & that Name is YHWH and that Name embedded in the place that He placed His Name, “Yerushalayim” ... the ‘teacher of peace’ who is the Messiah.

It is all about the Son, from Genesis 1:1 to Rev 22:21 ... it is the work of the Son who had already came in His Father's Name prior to emptying Himself and living & dying in the flesh.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. 12 But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

And then ... 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

It has been by the ‘grace’ of the Son from the beginning, grace did not begin at the cross, it began in the garden with the first lamb that was sacrificed, which I believe, according to Scripture, that if He placed His Name on this earth, He did so in the beginning, so it has been Jerusalem all along, where the Tree of Life first stood and where it will stand once again!

Shalom
