We kept our mother at home after her debilitating stroke. My sister, God Bless her, took the lead with care. several boughts with C-diff made it quite rough. My mother passed 10 months later.

Keeping her out of the hands of the lazy, unprofessional, crazy-expensive, death-care-for-the-aged system was the right thing to do.

God bless you in your efforts.

Wisdom friends gave me with my dad.
Spend as much time as you can with him.
Those days will never come again.

It is comforting and reassuring to have a loved one who has declared his belief and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Always remember Christians never say goodbye. May he continue to be a testimony to others including family that may not be saved. Even though he has been diagnosed with stage four, miracles can happen. God is on the throne and in control of all things.

Prayers for him and your family.

My father recently “moved on”.
He had been having monthly blood transfusions.
He had been failing for the last several months.
He was told he needed more frequent blood transfusions.
He told the drs. Enough. No more.
Since his blood count was very low at that point he passed quickly.
Last hospital visit was a Thursday.
Check in with the Lord was in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Hospice was beyond wonderful but I could never have done it.
Fortunately for us my youngest sisters’ oldest daughter is a nurse and she did all the work.
Close friends came by.
Out of state sisters flew in.
Grandchildren came to say goodbye.
For us it was easy and hard.
Easy because we knew where he was going and it was time to see him out of pain.
Hard because there is no more dad/grandpa.

It was actually a fascinating experience.
Like watching a birth process in reverse order.
There are “stages” the body goes thru.
Hospice was very good with support and advice.

Prays for All.

Nos prières à Dieu augmentent pour vous, votre Père, et votre famille.
(Our Prayers to God increase for you, your father, and your family.)

(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

Prayers said. It's difficult but people pray and pray for healing for someone and then at some point comes the reality you are praying GOD is merciful and takes them on with minimal suffering and pain. I don't think either prayer is wrong when the time is appropriate.

I've done home Hospice twice as the primary caregiver. My dad in 2011 and my wife in March. The Hospice team was great in both cases. Don't hesitate to call them at any time for question and those in your family caring for him will have questions and second guess themselves some. But GOD determines our number of breaths and heartbeats. Make sure all caregivers get sufficient downtime for rest if possible.

A word of advice have someone well rested and ready for when he comes home. This is so they can clearly understand instructions, equipment, meds, etc. It is a hectic time & it's also so others can rest and start the care routine with a clearer mind.

Prayers for you, Conserving, and your Dad. The best advice hospice gave me re: my dying mother was to read to her. I read her passages from the Bible and also from her favorite author, John Steinbeck.

Why not kidney dialysis?

He's 83, has been in poor health for quite a while, and has had enough.

Of course prayers up.

Thank you!
